@Dan B I agree for sure. I saw a lot of people watching the clip of the play and being confused why the commentators weren’t excited about the play and it was for the same reason. I think everyone thought the play would be called back via offensive holding or Josh being OoB.

@Sam Doesn’t matter. By the rules of the game he already had completed the catch before he hit the ground. a) He caught the ball b) He was inbounds when he caught the ball. c) He tucked the ball away (aka. “performed an act common to the game”).
@Thumbsdown Bandit Uh. Rule 8 Section 1Article 3 Note 2 actually covers this. Because Poyer did not make act common to the game (eg “a football ball move”) and lost control after hitting the ground out of bounds he cannot, by rule, reestablish control.
