Alex Anzalone previews Lions’ big game against Minnesota Vikings | Twentyman in the Huddle Ep. 29

On this week’s episode of Twentyman in the Huddle presented by Microsoft, Tim Twentyman returns to the studio to get set for this week’s massive NFC North matchup between the Detroit Lions and the division-leading Minnesota Vikings at Ford Field on Sunday. Per usual, the show starts with Tim’s news and notes from this week of practices in Allen Park, including an injury update on Jeff Okudah and a preview of the gameday atmosphere at Ford Field on Sunday. Next, ESPN’s Kevin Seifert joins the show to discuss the 10-2 Vikings, including what’s been holding the team back defensively and where the Lions may be able to take advantage. After that, linebacker and team captain Alex Anzalone stops by to discuss Detroit’s defense and the turnovers the team has created over the last five games. Lastly, producer PJ Clark returns to break down the Key Matchups for Lions-Vikings, presented by BetMGM.

Highlights include:

Seifert:. Your input is definitely an asset, and you’d be great across the board if you’d just stop interrupting Tim all the time. Let him finish what he’s saying before jumping in. Please.

    george and the plastic bananas.

@Bill Hicks yeah…I think some Vikes fan just made that one up..🙄

    Bill Hicks

@george and the plastic bananas. it actually started in Europe. Forget what team, but they’re Scandinavian. Vikings fans ripped it off honestly.

    george and the plastic bananas.

@Bill Hicks it literally means bowl. A drinking vessel.
Just the same as our ‘cheers’. Nothing to do with killing…

    Bill Hicks

@george and the plastic bananas. who told you that? It translates to chanting “Skull” which in a fighting sense meant “go for the skull” or essentially “swing to kill”

    george and the plastic bananas.

@Bill Hicks now you ARE making it up…🤣🤣🤣

Thorrrrrr!!!!

Brian Brown

That #1 pick from the Rams is looking real GOOD! They look terrible and could end up getting a top 3 pick for the Lions!

    Brian Brown

Oops! The Raiders layed an egg and let Mayfield take them 98 yards for the win.

    Daniel Robinson

@Brian Brown Yea, that hurt a little

    Itinerant Patriot

@Brian Brown Anything in the top-five, which is still a possibility, would be way more than anyone would have predicted coming in to the season. Even a top-10 pick would be a very pleasant surprise.

    Brian Brown

@Itinerant Patriot I would be surprised if the Pick is worse than 5th. The Rams looked horrible all night with the exception of a couple good throws from Mayfield. The Raiders folded like a cheap suit in the last 7 minutes and the Rams got plenty of breaks to get that win. If they lose a couple more that pick should be great.

Not Buves

As far as I’m concerned, that’s Detroits hair.

    DukeofGames50

Terry Huynh

Excited for this game. Go Lions!!! Don’t give Vikings time to adjust.

Tim Twentyman , glad I found you , you’re the go-to guy when I want to find out about the Lions . Do you miss Tori Petry ? , wish she was still around to enjoy this new exciting Lions team . I’m getting used to Dannie Rogers , she’s good , but Tori had something special and I respected her opinion .

Jason Tom

Detroit Lions FTW

Penultimate

I feel like Alex is a bit of an unsung hero of the team. Thanks for the stability you bring.

TheDacat77

I can’t afford to go, but if you go please scream my love for my Lions. Thank you..
We are on the road to being a team that other teams will say. Damn we got to play those Lions next week.

SWLION

Look, I think you have to give the Vikings credit, 9-0 in one score games is no joke. Their coach I think is leading candidate for coach of the year.

The lions are playing their best football now and what they did last week shows growth, bouncing back from a heartbreaking loss to Buffalo. I think the Lions are going to win this one, but it’s not going to be easy. 30 to 23 Lions.

907RC Adventure

Some Sundays I talk smack about Alex and than he has a great game…

Doug Michael Roossien

this is a totally different Lion defense. Amani is not playing (he was enabled by Pleasant -problem no.1), Cominsky was the problem for other OL’s. Kerbey got to play because at 1-6 …rookies get shots at playing not watching. The rest of the team loved this new self-responsibility. Brocker’s found his way to the bench. This team is committed to playing the best players now and they are playing together. Alex is playing some of his best football as was Barnes. The offense rolls through St. Brown, he is the glue. Nothing will kill a the moral of a defense than a quick third down pass to someone you cannot defend. The one problem that
Hock presented was he was not consistent game to game. When he was good ..yeah …very good …but he also cost us games. Amon you can count on and that keeps the defense honest at all times

Rob Newsome

Should be a good game, I think Lions will win but it’s going to be hard to sweep these last 5 games but if we can get past Minnesota and the Jets next week the odds really go up, wouldn’t it suck if only game we lost was to the bears and pushes us out of a wildcard? Well, one game at a time, beat the Vikings!!! The one thing that scares me is the Vikings are closing games and Detroit has had a hard time closing. I think there is a skill to closing games but I think there is a little luck to it as well, let’s hope there luck ends Sunday. Just think if Lions were winning the close ones and Vikings losing them, could be us 10-2 and Vikings 5-7

The Daily L

For people in the past of present. Lions won lol
