Pick Six: State of the Minnesota Vikings Defense & Lack of Respect From National Media

We need to earn respect, we need to stop constantly talking about the lack of respect and start looking in the damn mirror. We got blown out by the two teams who we will need to defeat in the playoffs to get to the Super Bowl. We are very fortunate to have the record we have right now, we need to focus on what we need to do to earn it in the playoffs and stop talking about the respect we haven’t earned yet.

I’m surprised after 10 wins we still don’t have our respect. We will have to earn it in the playoffs

31st in league pass defense is not worthy of praise. I’m convinced that DC and HC are cognizant that a more aggressive (effective) scheme will expose; certain players who have not fully developed yet so they are protected by adhering to the current scheme. I can think of no other reason to not act on a defense rated as such.

Individually, our defensive players grade quite well — most are above average. So why are we giving up so many freakin’ yards in the passing game? This DC is toast in the offseason.

The Minnesota Vikings TJ Hockeson will definitely have 2 touchdowns against his former team and heading back to Detroit Lions and I can’t wait to have play and beat his former team with the revenge game. The Minnesota Vikings are definitely going to win this game because they are underdogs. The Minnesota Vikings better win this weekend against the Lions. The lions are always mean and the Minnesota Vikings got to be careful so they don’t get hurt and lose the players and win the game. The Minnesota Vikings are going to win this game with 45-24. Justin Jefferson might not have to go against Jeff Okadah because he been out for the 2 training camp and if he out tomorrow and he won’t play against JJ Sunday for the matchup because he has illness but two Minnesota Vikings have not come back that is DJ Ham and Danielle Hunter but Theo Jackson, Patrick Peterson and Harrison Smith came back from the illness. Hopefully the Minnesota Vikings doesn’t get hurt because the Lions did that so many times so they could hurt the Vikings players to be out of the game so they could win even though they were not going to the playoffs in 2021 but it looks like in Week 3 the Lions didn’t hurt any of the Minnesota Vikings players.

Being a Vikings fan for almost 50 years, I have a strange feeling they are going to lose to Detroit. When they get ahead they need to keep their foot on the gas and not let off.

No one expected the vikings to even get this far our defense of scheme needs adjustment but we’ll get better

It’s true that Vikes pass defense struggles, quite a bit.
We give up a lot of passing yards. That is certainly true.. However, especially lately, we’ve done pretty dang well at not allowing passing touchdowns, in the redzone. It seems like the only times we really give up passing TDs, is late in the game, especially when the offense is struggling to keep possession. The D gets tired, after being on the field for wayyyy too long. When the offense is moving the ball, our D does pretty well, keeping em out of the endzone. I’m not sure exactly what the solution is.. But, I don’t think it is too late to figure it out, before the playoffs start. And if our pass defense can improve, I do think we can compete against any team in the league, when playoff time comes around!😁😄
Whatever the reality, as a lifelong Vikings fan, I MUST have faith that we can come through when it counts. And I do!!😆🤙🏼👍🏻✌🏻💪🏼

I never understood this new defensive scheme. I looks like we are almost always in a prevent defense, it’s no wonder teams go up and down the field on them. This D just don’t get good pressure. D Hunter is back this year but I never hear his name called. Seems whoever is blocking him , silences him for the whole game. The Vikes pass rush D allows the QB lots of time to survey the field, which will kill you. We got lucky last week. At the end of the game the Jets have a 4th and ten and complete a 23 yr pass inside the red zone?? What do I think? Our luck will run out in Detroit . And if we are facing them in the playoffs because of this game ? That one won’t end well either.

It’s the style of the defense, it’s supposed to like like that. I hate that style of defense but it’s no mistake.
