Dbs play well they not supposed to have to cover for 8 secs we need to be able to get pressure especially when blitzing

The DBs aren’t the problem though! It’s the lack of pass rush that needs to be improved. The LBs would be fine also if the coaches had them in the right positions to succeed. Ultimately I believe this falls on coaching and Spags scheme

@CD Our DBs are young and are insanely athletic but just need more experience. They have shut down great receivers on individual plays throughout the season but still give up a lot on other plays, we just lack the consistency. DB/Saftey is the hardest job on the field other than the QB imo, not to say that its not hard to do anything in the NFL cause it is.

@Synbadd Like I said the DBs aren’t the issue…they just need more game time and they’ll be alright. I played football too so I know for a fact DB is the hardest position to play, period. The safety play this year has been subpar at best, but the LBs seem like they’ve been out of position for the most part and that falls on the coaching staff

@CDI do agree with you for the most part… but it does seem like Reid and Thornhill are over running tackles. I’m talking about when rbs are running past our lbs that our being blocked. Those guys do need to tackle better, and shut it down there… not 10 yards down field.

Our secondary is not terrible. It’s up to the D-Line to get home. If they don’t, it puts the secondary in a horrible position.

Broncos really are elite. If the broncos were just below average on offense they would have a chance against anybody. But they are really rough on defense.

@thunderdude They also left like two scores on the field. The only way to stop Bengals is to have elite edge rushers that can get into the pocket really quick. If you don’t have elite edge rushers Burrow will bleed defence with 1000 cuts no matter what coverage the defence plays.

@Edwin Benny i agree and we don’t have that. Our edge are either inexperienced washed up or only care about the money (clark). If veach calls what he did fixing the Dline he should think again because he didn’t come remotely close to fixing our poor Dline.

@thunderdude I don’t think I can blame even D line like Chris Jones was doubled up the whole game. By edge rushers I don’t mean above average because Burrow is slippery. You need elite Nick Bosa-TJ Watt-Myles Garrett-21’ Aaron Donald level players on your defence to slow down Burrow and it’s hard to coach em up. Best bet is as Bengals is in the AFC the front office may have to make a signing to bring a few.

Maybe the guy we got from the Ravens helps.
