As a football fan, this made me so happy to see someone like him make strides already. He played against a tough team and he was balling. Kudos to him and he’ll be doing great going forward.

We now have played played seven games with Christian McCaffrey since we traded for him. In four of those games, we have scored 30 points or more. We have now won six games in a row . . . BANG BANG 9ER GANG!!!

Baldy’s Breakdowns are at an elite level. Nobody does it better. Nobody.

Little Pickle

As a Rams Fan I hate it. But as a Football Fan I love it and so happy for him.

dubstepman00

Really incredible that he rose to the occasion to strt after QB1 injuries in college and now the NFL. Brock was so fun to watch at ISU and he’s continuing to perform in the league!! CMON NOW!!!

James Sanders

Another thing that impressed me was the lack of time outs wasted due to avoiding delay of games. If I remember it was only one, maybe two. Purdy looks so comfortable Sunday. That being said, lets not forget the ugly interception that was wiped out due to a defensive hold before the pass.

    Kuttispielt

I mean Brady threw two that game so there’s that.

    Bo J.

Not sure if it’s covered in this video, but he’s been so good at the line of scrimmage. On the touchdown throw to Aiyuk he instantly recognized that two players were shifting at once, so he makes the second player stop his shift and get set to avoid a penalty. Really good stuff.

    Jason

Made him all that more impressive when he didn’t get razzled by the interception and threw a TD the very next play.

    Cali 49

@Bo J. I seen that too! He knows where everyone is supposed to be and all the motions

iNNoCeNttDReAMs

Firstly let me say, he performed excellent in the last 2 games. Miami and Bucs aint no jokes. His awareness and out of pocket scramble is something I haven’t seen in the niners for awhile. I wish he could perform like this and excel to becoming even better because he has a lot of potential. We are all too familiar with QBs having outstanding performance in their first 1-4 games and than just dropping hard afterward.

    hman615

@Jeff Miesen really? They haven’t seemed so good recently

    WockySlush210

@hman615 just look at stats they really are a top 5 defense just Kyle shanahan outplayed them

    Philo Beddoe

Purdy has the luxury of a really good run game and a stellar defense to help him through his growing pains the next few weeks. Also the luxury of only having to win 2 of the final 4 games to ensure a playoff berth as the 3 seed.

    Jon Collins

He’s playing better than dudes out there who are supposed to be taking their teams to the playoffs this year but likely won’t. Something to say about how he’s just slinging TD passes like it’s nothing and escaping the pocket when there’s a blitz. I think as long as he stays healthy he balls out.

Ian Whitfield

Dude was flawless….. He understood the assignment and had that offense down pact! Mad respect for this guy!

Jeffrey Locke

Brock P. played it perfectly. Like he was an experienced quarterback from many games.

O G

Confident, good pocket awareness, eyes up and making good reads. He doesn’t have an arm at all but he makes the rest of the season worth watching. We thought our season was over when Jimmy went down but we might do something!

    Larry Bird

How doesn’t he have an arm

    Vladpryde

@Larry Bird Yeah I wanna know this too. He threw two bombs in the end zone.

    Fonz Gaming

β€œHe doesn’t have an arm” yet he threw it just fine that day!

    Btv

He doesn’t need to be able to throw it 60 yards to really open up this offense. All he needs to be able to do is throw it 40-45 like 2-4 times a games. They don’t even need to be completions and PI comes easy. He just needs the defense to THINK a deep shot is a possibility, which with jimmy they don’t which is why our offeNe is held back by jimmy. I think purdy will do good, but he needs to keep passing tests, which is always the next game. Until he’s done it for a extended time he will only be as good as what he can do for us next game.

RedMo46

I watched the draft, i was actually surprised he didnt get drafted higher. Good for him ballin out

    Cali 49

Same here! I missed most of day 2 and 3 and was wondering where Brock Purdy got drafted to since I’ve seen some of his college film before. I wanted the Niners to draft him! I thought he was going like in the 4th or 5th round. He wasn’t bad at Iowa State!

Green Swamp Onion

His scrambling ability is similar to Mahomes and his decision making and timing is very good especially for a rookie. As a niners fan I am very excited to see where he takes us

    RedWhiteAndBlue4evr1

Yes, Im just worried that egos get in the way and Lance gets put back on top next year. I say keep the bird in the hand.

    Tesoro Doberman

If he does decently for the rest of season and playoffs, I see Lynch trading Lance to get some picks back,
signing jimmy as a backup. Noway Lynch put Brock back on the bench. In 2 games, weve seen more of Purdy than Lance. Purdy is playing the way all head coaches wish their qb could play. There wont be a controversary if he keeps it up. Lynch is worth too much to keep on the team. If Purdy wins and wins good, he will have chemistry with the team that lance wont have.

Huge shoutout to Kittle for keeping the kid safe

Bo J.

2:58 the reason he told Ray Ray to stop is that Kittle moved up when he started shifting making it an illegal shift. So Ray Ray had to get set again to avoid a penalty.

EtonoftheEtons

Was at this game. Amazing to hear the crowd chant his name. Such a good first half!

    Cali 49

Same here. It was surreal to hear that in the stadium!

Martin Arreguy

I hope Brock is not an anomaly, and that this kid shows the world what he can do! It is great to see great football played, by someone who wasn’t never expected to be nothing but a backup!

L

It was a such a nearly perfect first half it gives you chills to know this was his career start. Exciting stuff.
