    @Tedster B tv Lions had y’all beat the first game. If it wasn’t for Dan Campbell who admitted it was his fault that the Lions lost the game, y’all would have lost 2 to the Lions this season. Still so, the Lions do have a decent chance to make the playoffs; but I won’t be surprised if they don’t. However, Brad Holmes has done an admirable job in tearing this thing down and building it back up. Also, their OC, Ben Johnson is the real deal.

Seriously though, ya gotta give Ben Johnson credit for having huge stones on that play call. Can you imagine the grilling he would have taken if that play would have backfired and the Vikings were able to make em pay for trying it? Hat’s off to ya young fella, THAT took major cajones at that point in the game.

    Fan since 1979 (2-14…welcome to Lion Fandom). Yesterday was the biggest win since their playoff win in 1991. There is scary depth to this team unlike any Lions team that I’ve seen in my lifetime!

    I honestly believed that 6 wins was the ceiling for this season, going into it. I was going to be happy with 6 wins after the horrendous first half of last season, when they easily played the worst football of my lifetime (yes, I include 0-16). I figured that it would take 3 years just to get to mediocre.

    The fact that they’re in the playoff picture THIS SEASON is incredible! I figured 5 years…IF they drafted at pre: Brad Holmes levels.

    I don’t call him MCDC anymore. I call him MCDFC now.

Sewell showed great football IQ to stay in bounds to keep the clock running. That’s the second best part of this play, after the catch, that most will miss.

    Yep, he showed good hands, great instincts, better speed than you’d ever think possible, and good positional awareness.

    I still can’t believe they sent a tackle eligible in motion. They practically telegraphed this and still got it done.

    @hagamapama They ran a similar play earlier where they brought Sewell in motion to serve as a downhill blocker, hence the D not biting at all. Really nice play calling and situational football.

The Lions have been putting Sewell in motion all season, and it was just to keep opposing defenses unsuspecting when they finally unleashed him. Ben Johnson is a genius. Please nobody hire him away as head coach until the Lions can at least win a playoff game.

I feel like there’s an aspect of that play forgotten about. Not only did Sewell make that catch, he managed to shoulder block Danielle Hunter while running his route. That is just crazy.

That play was beautifully set up by our OC! They ran the same concept with Penei earlier in that drive and used him as a lead block. That’s why no defender even bothered to pay attention to him on this play assuming he was going to lead block again. This is not the same old Lions! The turnaround this season has been so fun to watch and let’s hope we can keep it rolling and possibly get a playoff spot 🙏. It’s been a long time coming and this fan base would go absolutely crazy if we were able to clinch a spot
