Postgame Interview With Baker Mayfield | TNF Nightcap – FANTASY FOOTBALL FAN SITE
Nick Wilson

Bro studied more in 48 hours than Kyler did his entire career

    Jack Nguyen

Hot host, is she wearing a pair of pajamas?

    Phil Anderson

@Jack Nguyen and heels, of course.

    Jack Nguyen

@Phil Anderson what is her name?
    Never seen her b4.

    Phil Anderson

@Jack Nguyen Charissa Thompson. She’s been on other sports shows. I think she actually has a law degree, if you can believe that. I generally like her though. NFL keeps saying nearly half their fan base are women, and if you go to any stadium that number can’t be far off, so it’s good to see female hosts and announcers.

    Jack Nguyen

@Phil Anderson she’s an eye candy and smart too!

Jared Thomas

This is the best I’ve seen Baker since his Cleveland days. THIS is the Baker that took the worst franchise in sports and made them elite for a season. GREAT PERFORMANCE BAKER

    Ben Napier

@123abc but you forgot that before a lot of those guys were here he took a 0 for 16 team to 78 and one, and then to nine and seven, and then to the playoffs, beating a division rival and winning the Browns first playoff game since the 1990s I believe it might be earlier than that he made Cleveland relevant Yeah he had a Lotta good players on his team, but so does every team to be good. You can’t tell me that he didn’t play a major part in making the Browns relevant. And going by your logic, Jacoby, Brissett basically has the same team that he did, and look how many wins he got baker probably would’ve gotten extended if he didn’t make the dumb decision to play with a injured non-throwing arm

    B Miles

Elite? They beat 11-5 Colts, 11-5 Titans, and the Steelers 2nd string, then the worst performance of Ben’s life. They didn’t beat anyone of substance that year. They were AVERAGE.

    123abc

@Ben Napier They made the playoffs WITH those guys NOT before. Chubb, Hunt, Landry and a top 5 o line did not go 0-16.

    123abc

@buzz killington No one ever thought that Brissett was better than Mayfield. I certainly didn’t say that. I said that Mayfield is good with the play action scenario and a good o line. You are reading something else into this.

    Flirken1

@beedybeez brisket did a lot alright😂😂 led them to a 4-7 record. Not a Baker fan, just stating facts princess. “You’re probably 12 with 6 mayfield jerseys”, you literally are 12. Only a 12 year old brain dead kid would say something as stupid as that. It’s okay kiddo, you commented just to look stupid. That’s tough kid. Try again next time

Seth burgess

This is a man that’s been humbled. This is a new Baker. Excited for him

    Gabe Angel

@B Miles – poor coaching – poor organization – internal player issues – don’t tell me it ain’t so – the Most EDUCATED take on Baker/Rams is Steve Young’s comments BEFORE the game – find it and LEARN

    Jim Ritner

That was really cool I jumped out my seat on that last throw 🤣 Idc he won the browns a playoff game against the Steelers I will root for that guy till the end of time Idgaf

    T.O.P.

Couple weeks ago he was hitting helmets without a helmet 🤣🤣🤣

    Davee Hang

don’t get excited for too long. lol

    B Miles

@Jim Ritner No he didn’t. Big Ben and his center won that game for the Browns.

Daniel Joyce

Baker is just a good bloke. So happy for him. Hopefully he takes this to the next level.

Man on an island

I’m a big time Raider fan and although I’m disappointed, Baker got a 6 straight lost team hyped and made great throws. I knew when they kicked that field goal and he was damn near at midfield greeting the guys coming off, there might be trouble. If you ever put on pads, you have to put respect on his name. He’s got heart !

Kevin Do

You can debate all you can about his skills. But his personality and love for the game is undeniable. You gotta be a smart and humble man to get many commercials

darnell16player

I’m happy for Baker. Guy had his confidence shot so bad it seemed like another Josh Rosen situation but he did great, this was a game he needed to get some stability under him. That’s all it takes with some QB’s, some stability and build the confidence!

BilliamTrillion

I’ve never heard Baker be so humble and happy in a clutch situation. Looks like the fresh start he needed and I couldn’t be happier for him

    C Y

@Brady Beijes I can guarantee all the 32 NFL teams would want to trade all their picks away for 1 SB ring. That is all that matters. I think you don’t understand how profoundly important to get a SB ring and how hard it is to just do that. Ask Josh Allen how much he wanted a ring. Ask all those great players who play week in week out gettting injured how much they a ring before they retire. The Rams did the right thing. Now after a ring, they get Baker cheap without giving up any picks like the Panthers did. If they let go Baker they also get a compensatory pick in return. They can even tank a couple of seasons to acquired higher picks and there the cycle again.

    Brady Beijes

@C Y I very much understand the importance, my point is more that they could have saved picks and found a young, not injury prone quarterback and had picks to bring in weapons for him instead of trading all your picks away, don’t tell me I don’t understand the importance of winning, I won 2 championship rings in high-school that mean everything to me and I’m a leafs fan🤣😂, there’s just much better ways to go about it, look at the raptors, they picked up a star, won a championship and still kept their young core together to build for the future, not to mention that if not for OBJ, The Bengals who mostly built their team through the draft would have won that game, and they can still compete for years to come while still adding pieces through the draft, so basically I’m saying Stafford was a bad choice as was his contract and there were better options, not that draft picks are more important than winning

    Tiller Phil

Did Baker finally mature? If so the Rams just got a crazy steal because Baker has an extremely smart football mind

    Phil Anderson

Completely different player than the one just a year ago. It’s like THIS is the Mayfield people hoped to see out of college.

    Phil Anderson

@Brady Beijes Agree completely. In fact, on other threads I have suggested Stafford should retire. He has plenty of money, he has a SB ring, a beautiful wife and children, and he’s now completely banged up with several serious injuries. I don’t want to hear how he’ll heal over the off season, the dude’s body is almost ruined. Quit now while you’re ahead.

Rough part for Rams fans is that if Stafford says he’s 100% coming back next season, the Rams won’t have Mayfield, no matter how great Baker plays, or doesn’t.

Melissa K

So cool all the NFL players sending tweets out! 💙💛
So happy for him!

Leo

Should be said but this TNF Nightcap crew has been my favorite on the season. Great group of folks who appear to have genuine chemistry with each other.

    Shemp Shempleton

@Phil Anderson I suppose we’re each looking for something different. Enjoy the show and have a Merry Christmas brother 🙂

    Rose City Ronin

I like ’em all, too. Welllll … MINUS Tony Gonzales, that is. He needs to be replaced. Actually, just removed.

    Greg Reeb

@SNC N Idaho she’s thirsty. She was looking at baker like how I looka at my beer

    Phil Anderson

@Greg Reeb Cougar bait. That’s what she was looking at.

    Phil Anderson

@Christian Jelinek Good point. I actually like Charissa. The NFL keeps saying almost half their fan base are women, and if you go to any stadium that number can’t be very far off, so it’s good to see more female hosts. She also has a law degree, if you can believe that. Maybe they should talk more with her about player contracts, salary cap issues, etc. 😀

Will M

This is the OU baker that I remember from undergrad. Glad to see him bounce back. He’s one of the few in the league that could do this with 48 hours of preparation

    Douglas A.

Yes i watched him at OU too and saw that he was something special. Number# 1 pick and he won the Heisman which he most certainly deserved.

    robert perrella

that is 542 plays in sean mcvay’s playbook !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! baker mayfield is a nice low risk, high reward type of move !!!!!!! great job by the LA RAMS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nathan

This was his LAST chance. Seriously what a cool story arc. I love this sport.

Leeman

As a Clevelander I hope the Best for Baker….Great Guy and loyal to his City

    Andrea Deamon

    Same.

LEIF HOFFMAN

One of the best come back games I’ve ever seen. Baker proved that he is a phenomenal QB and to think only two days on the team. That speaks for itself. All I can say is “WOW”. Happy for you Baker. You showed the world what you’re made of.

Sage Henry

What a freaking performance. The accuracy on his ball. Wild!!!

crouch97

Niner fan here, and I have to say I’m really happy for Mayfield. He’s been through a lot this year and to seee him win with only 48 hrs, LOVE it!!!

    Francisco Ordaz

    Amen brother.

Hallow334

You couldnt wipe the smile, I had during this interview, off my face. I’m so happy for Baker. I’ve been a fan of his since he played for my Sooners! Especially after getting a raw deal in Cleveland and then landing on a not so talented (being nice here) Panthers team. I’ve never seen a QB come to a team and two days later he is leading such a comeback over a more talented team!

DBeazRN 3

As a Panthers fan, I really am so very proud of Baker. Like our players noted when he decided to leave, “Once you’re in this locker room, you’re family.” I pray that Baker continues to grow and that all of us can cheer for him….maybe not the Rams (lol) but for Baker. Blessings to you all!!!

Aaron Elijah Colyer

I’m so happy for Baker. He’s finally got a good team and great coaches. This is what he’s been missing.

bigmaclooiee2

I’m so happy for Baker. That was an incredible performance.
