Baker Mayfield only needed two days! – FANTASY FOOTBALL FAN SITE

People don’t realize how special 2020 Baker really was. This is exactly a reflection of it.

    Reagan Burch

@Real N!gga quit forgetting about the 11 game stretch that baker had where he went 8-3

    Karen Hardie

Good for him. Rams have good coaches and players, I hope he has found a home. To do that with 48 hours is outstanding. Never gave up and kept fighting.

    MCreed

@Carnage Pool not reading all that

    Savageshit,INC

@Allen Mobley I mean it’s all about the now look how they judge lamar since his mvp

What throwing a football to open players that already juked their defenders on a football field while being a professional player? How special…..

Brax Blackburn

Man I’m happy for him

Suddenly, the Rams/Broncos game on Christmas Day might be watchable if only because Baker

    Ervin Medina

@Jonathan Pusar Your on Point!! Our Offense is not using Russ’s Strengths in the game plan. Poor coaching is all it is. The offensive line is in shambles AND we have NO Running game. It really can’t get much worse. We can lose out the rest of the season but it’s a losing season anyway!! 😜👍🍺🍺🍻

    Jonathan Pusar

@Ervin Medina exactly. There is a big perk being a 6’4″+ QB…no denying that. You can stand tall in the pocket and see the field.

A short QB can’t do that without throwing a pick once in awhile.

However, a short QB is also much better at escaping defenders than a tall one. Lamar, Bress, Russ in Seattle, and Baker in 2020 did this all the time.

It’s all about adjusting to strengths and weaknesses of your roster. Great coaches do this all the time. Patriots created a whole new playbook for Cam Newton and then later Mac Jones (before McDaniels left).

Bad coaches create a scheme and except players to adapt.

Bad managers in the workplace are exactly the same.

    Jonathan Pusar

@9mm.trilla meh their name still sucks lol. I still call them Redskins.

They should have went with War Hogs.

    Lurking

@Scottie Courtney missing half his torso hung out to dry by Stefanski who was intentionally sinking him OK DUDE

    Scottie Courtney

    @Lurking excuses excuses

Baker is so talented, can’t wait until people start acknowledging it. This is going to help it for sure, if you don’t acknowledge his talent after this then you just don’t want to admit his talent no matter how good he is.

    Alex Rosales

They have his decision-making needs improvements, but McVay is the guy for just that

    Kista79

Yes I am tired of all the naysayers on Baker Mayfield,” he don’t have it, never will, he’s done, etc….” Baker just needs a good team and a coach who can bring out the best of his talents. Really the Raiders should’ve won last night as the odds were totally stacked against the Rams, he had very little time to work with his new team but yet was still able to come in and turn them around. This reminds me of his debut with the Browns vs Jets game… if anyone remembers they were chanting “We want Baker” the Browns were down by the Jets of all teams but he turned it around and won that game…. granted this game wasn’t as spectacular as that one but considering all the odds were against him I’d say he played pretty amazing. If they would’ve left Wolford in I’m sure that the ending would’ve totally been different and ended up losing the game.

It’s hard to look that far into the future, I don’t know if he could ever win you a super bowl but he’s way better than a lot of the other QB’s out there, he got the Brown’s to the playoffs in forever and they went 11-5, pretty respectable numbers for that team considering where they have been.

However I’m still shocked they won, both sides could’ve easily played better, the penalties were ridiculous from each team especially when they happened. I know penalties happen and will always continue to do so but seemed like they all happened at the worst possible moments, both need to do better.

Everyone in the NFL is “so talented” talent alone dont pay the bills at a high level…

Jay Gunny

Those were some amazing throws and catches.

Miguel Meyers

As a die-hard Browns fan, I hated how they did him dirty. Letting him go off an injured season. I am happy for Baker tonight after seeing him get more than 1.2 seconds to throw. Well done.

    72RR446

@Iron Panther Yep, I’ll start caring about the Browns again when the Haslams no longer own the team.

    Patti Crichton

@LASTOLYMPIAN I AGREE, I felt the SAME way! They should have at least given him another year. I wish he was still here in Cleveland

    K0LEY0SIS

    @Haneef Razzack 😂

    michael hammond

Here’s a Browns fan who gets it.
Browns gave up 50+ sacks a year for three of the 4 years he was there, no QB has much success with those kinda stats. They drafted Wills cuz they were terrible and he had one great year then got hurt in the 1st game of the 2021 season then Baker got hurt in the second game. You’re gonna find out that Watson won’t make much of a difference either down the stretch. Baker’s had 7 head coaches now in 5 years….what QB besides him could still pull it off…mentally even.

Rob

Baker gained my respect when he beat the living crap about the Steelers in that wild card game. Cleveland did him so dirty, so did Carolina. Man I am happy that of what he did tonight. Hopefully he can find a team that will respect him and where he can thrive in.

    Braedon Storey

Carolina was the only team to give him a chance but rhule has never brought out a qbs potential in his system.

    Real N!gga

Baker would thrive in the saints simple system if the still had sp but this the 49ners, Tennessee, are all good systems for him

    The Cool Aid Man336

As a panthers fan this highlights how rough of shape the organization really is. We keep trying to fix our team with skill positions, and never pay any attention to the offensive line. I may be biased, I played o line in my day, but I think that’s the most important building block of the entire offense. Can’t do anything if you don’t have time to pass, or lanes to run through. I hate having to watch my team be terrible.

Naquan Younger

This the baker mayfield I thought Carolina was getting smh , but “A SYSTEM” is everything for a qb and my panthers basically play “throw up tackle” congrats to baker 💯💪🏾

    The Cool Aid Man336

I hate it. I don’t understand how we spend all this money on skill positions, and never focus on the o line. We’ve struggled there for years and they never seem to do anything about it.

Tom Jackson

THAT’S MY BOY! I hope this performance leads to more opportunities and at least leads to a career as an NFL backup.

    Shanny Salcedo

    @Sasuke Uchiha nick foles

    Skeptic 40

@Shanny Salcedo pretty sure he was a starter right??

    Cole Thornton

@Sasuke Uchiha perfect world he backs up Stafford for a year and then gets the keys, only other teams that would need him would be teams like Carolina that stink

    Cooper S

Baker is a top 20 QB with the right system.

    Oscar U

NFL backup..?! Are you kidding me..? This guy is better than most of NFL starters,!

Corey R

This is the baker we saw at OU. The right system with a decent team will do wonders for a guy. I hope baker finishes the season strong!

John Juarez

Incredible performance by Baker with less than 2 days of practice. Perfect Dime drop!!

RC

As a Browns fan I’m elated for Baker. He didn’t deserve to be dropped like he was. Coming off of a year where he laid his career on the line playing through an injury, I felt he was done dirty. Here’s to hoping he proves everyone wrong. 😏💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿

Max

What’s crazy is Mayfield is exactly what McVay wants out of Stafford but half the age. If he ends up being the rams QB the next couple seasons, they could skip a few years of rebuilding

    Jonathan Pusar

I think they secretly know Stafford is done…which is unfortunate. They brought Baker in rather than let him hit FA because they wanted to get a look at him to see if he can be the guy next year vs going back to the drawing board or getting into a bidding war for a mediocre QB in free agency like what usually happens.

You can tell that team including coach looked a lot more energized just having Mayfield there than last week. They seemed depressed before. I’d be depressed to if you win a SB and less than a season later you lose your QB with no clear option for replacement next year.

Clayton Peltier

Mayfield on the Rams is actually pretty scary. If they make some right adjustments for next season they’d be unstoppable.

Braxton Hock

As a browns fan. Seeing baker having to play while hurt made me mad. But when I heard he wanted to shocked me because never knew baker had it in him. Now seeing this im proud of him😁😁

Seneca Blount

The “Mayfield miracle”. When he makes a comeback, it is this night that will be remembered.

ramm one

They were down by two TDs late in the 4th and the stadium was still full! All these people watched a miracle, you get a different feeling
when being in the moment. Like that movie “Heaven Can Wait” , some people were meant for the moment.

Poirier's Louisiana Style Hot Sauce

Baker is awesome. I am another browns fan coming here to root for my guy. I’ll always have a special place for bake in my heart, dude is a gamer.

Ricky D

Baker was on one last night. Helluva game, mad respect to him. He deserves this victory and moment! hopefully this is the spark he needed to revive his career.

Jordan S

As a Steelers fan I’m happy for Baker👏🏽
