@Twan Ellis sure you were missing 3/4 starters on the dline and two corners. Chargers were missing: Top 2 OTs( Slater and Pipkins), WR 1( Allen), 2( Williams), and 3, (Guyton)TE 1 injured 2nd quarter (Everett), TE 2 (Parham), RB 2 (Kelly), ROLB (Bosa), DL (Johnson) CB 1 (Jackson) FS (Adderly) and these are only the starters many other depths injuries as well. The fact chargers hung in most the game either shows the niners are worse than everyone thought or the chargers are better, pick your poison

For some reason Aiyuk wasn’t the player of the game but I think he was. He came in clutch with a few big plays and led the team in receiving yards again.

A win is a win but they got to get better in the red zone especially with all the weapons they have.

Besides the problematic and periodic dropped passes, Kyle’s Red zone offense has been a little spotty in the red zone…. Hopefully he can pull it together instead of allowing this unfortunate pattern to get mental.
I think Kyle has been getting really conservative in the redzone. Particularly when he thinks he’s the more physical team on the line of scrimmage. He’ll get creative on 3rd and long and try to power through 3rd and goal.
Niners have no problem getting down to the red zone in 6-10 plays, but seem to sputter at the end. They need some good tried and true plays they know will work.
or maybe Kyle shouldn’t go to Mitchell 3 times in the redzone to settle for 3 when the game’s on the line

@Pasta Chocolate This DEF is not that DEF. This DEF with Arik and Emmanual can hold Chiefs. If this DEF can shut out an average OFF, then they can hold an Elite OFF from scoring too high.
@yourface 123 yeah but I think the point is they had 4 bad games against 3 really bad teams. Look I’m not knocking the niners, shoutout to them for a getting the job done. But they can be beat even with all of their star powers. Jimmy “check down only throws slants” Garopollo, will hold y’all back. The chargers coaching staff will also not get them anywhere because they need to do a better job of knowing the personnel and creating more plays on offense. Either way it was an expected win by Niners.

Took us a whole half to warm up. Not the prettiest win but we got the job done
Sad that I had to take Carter out of my fantasy lineup but im superstitious about playing opponents against my 49ers

@J Coz Don’t forget Bill Belichick believed Jimmy G was the eventual successor to Tom Brady. Nobody, including the New England staff thought TB was even worth drafting but Belichick saw something and insisted he was drafted. Belichick was also furious Jimmy G was traded.
I tend to think Belichick knows his job. SO WHAT did he see that the rest of us can’t?

@J Coz LOL name some top 15 QBs that are better than Jimmy right now that would qualify as above average QB. You won’t hit 15. Jimmy is a above average QB. That is who he is. He is not elite and hes not average. Average QBs don’t make it as a starter in this league for long and are delegated to backups shortly after given the chance to start.

No it’s just that chargers are number 30 at stopping the run. Plus all the injuries. You were playing a best up team lots of injuries.
Jimmy g had a fine game. Got the ball to the right places. If aiyuk makes that catch in the end zone hed get 250 yards. More importantly, no dumb decisions. Jennings made some big catches.

The Chargers played extremely well given how depleted they were. The Niners had no excuse looking that impotent on offense with the tools they’ve added. Trashy win but we’ll take it. GG, San Diego!
That Def shut out the chargers 2nd half. You guys have too much talent on offense to produce 6 points. With a better QB , 49rs would have made 2 or 3 Touchdowns 2nd half. Glad it didnt happen tho, made the chargers look less bad
@Xilence Red Idk man, I agree with you in some respects but when Jimmy failed it was because SD smothered them and did a good job. Dropped passes and lame up the middle run calls by Shanny screwed us here. I’d give more credit to the SD Defense than I would say Jimmy did bad. I’ve seen bad Jimmy games and he actually made mostly good decisions here.
That Aiyuk fumble was a helmet hit but QB’s even as runners are judged differently

One hell of a game! I’m a Niners fan that fell in love with Herbert when he was at Oregon. To me this is a team win. Both offense and defense made plays. Congrats Niners we are creeping up on Seattle.
