When are you going to stop going for it instead of kicking easy field goals? Hopefully soon.
There’s no such thing as easy field goals with our current kicker. Where have you been? Dude missed a 29 yard field goal amongst other misses over the last 2 seasons.
I actually like the trust he places in the offensive unit. Even if they do not get the first I feel like him presenting that trust to the offense is a greater asset than 3 points. Tua and the offense know how much Mike and the staff trust him. We are seeing that confidence translate into Tua’s play.

The only reason why we went for it is because our Kicker sucks but if we had a different kicker then that’s a different story

Wrong, you go for it. It displays courage and a sense of trust in your offense that inspires confidence. On top of that, you make it, you win the game. Football is a game of gut and imposing your will.

This quote from an early McDaniel interview really stuck with me. I can’t help but feel like this is the premier model of leadership, not only in the NFL or sports but in the workplace as a whole. This idea of establishing a relationship and a kinship with others that you work with, its a profoundly different and vulnerable way to operate in 2022. It disregards the hierarchy of the coach/player relationship and focuses on trust between men. Love the sh*t out of Mike, thank you for bringing energy and service to this organization. It was badly needed.
