TB Bucs Offense has been bad all Season with a bad OL and has no running game so a little easier to prepare for – Bengals had one of the worst Running Offenses coming into last weeks game and they ran all over the Panthers as did the falcons the week before

@The Indulgence Kind of true when it comes to defending the pass (we also play soft in man, we never play press man) but against the run we just don’t have/aren’t willing to play any linebackers. Going back and looking through the All-22 footage and watching in detail, most of the time we have Shaq + Luvu in the middle and then either Xavier, Jayce or Hartsfield come down and play in the box.
You can do that in obvious passing plays if they are in a 5 receiver set, or doing some trips formation stuff, etc, but relying on our DB’s and safeties to come play in-between the tackles on a regular basis and take on linemen in duo blocks? Come on now, that’s just asking for trouble. Shaq and Luvu aren’t good in the middle to begin with; they’ve got speed for the outside but that lack of a solid, gap-setting MLB is really killing our defense. Shaq isn’t it, I love the guy but he just isn’t a MLB. Shaq needs to be on the outside along with Luvu, mixing it up on blitzes/coverage/RB/QB contain, etc. As it is, we just don’t have any form of MLB basically and have two OLB’s acting like they can mix it up in the middle of the pack, and you can watch the all-22 and every tackle is a backwards falling tackle, they’re getting stuffed on the second level, gap assignment falls apart completely, etc.

I hope and pray Wilks eyes come open before it’s too late! This is how Rivera got fired because he was too close to that defensive line coach (can’t remember his name.) and refused to let him go even when he showed that the position was too much for him! Wilks is doing the same thing! Won’t be long before he takes over calling the defense because he refuse to accept that Holcomb don’t know what he’s doing!

actualy, just find a way to wake up these Linebackers and make them WORK for their money.
Maybe get Shaq not making business decisions and make him hit someone every once in a blue moon?
That would be a sight to behold.. in 2022.. a Linebacker actualy hit someone…. *sigh*
