@Russell Neher Ok. So what is a 3 and out, a turnover of possession right? How many of those did the Bucs defense force last night? 7 right? Then you have Camarda putting the Rams on the 10-15 yard line almost every punt. The only weakness I see in this defense is open feild tackling and communication on the back end (i.e. the busted assignment on the Kupp TD). This is all stuff that’s plagued them for a while that they need to get sorted. The Offense is the real issue, Oline needs to get healthier, playcalling needs to be less predictable, penalties killing drives need to stop, receivers need to stop dropping passes (6 last night including a TD drop)

@Russell Neher Ok so how did the last drive to win the game start. The Bucs defense forced a 3 and out after their punter pinned the Rams offense deep in their own half. On the ensuing Rams punt Bucs got favorable feild position on thier own 40 yard line. Bradys insane concentration and leadership did the rest. It’s called complimentary football. When you force 3 and outs you give your offense more opportunities not only to score but control the clock I.e TIME OF POSSESSION, therefore minimizing the opposing offeses opportunities to do the same. Getting turnovers is a quicker way of doing this yes, but it is only one of the ways. So to put it short for you to understand 3 and out means your offense gets the ball back from the opposition I.e a change of possession which technically is a turnover of possession as the defense forced their opponent to have to give the ball away to their offense.

@MyMason911 As I stated. It’s what the offense does with those opportunities in return. Ok say your team gets 3 picks and on all 3 turnovers your offense goes 3 and out. Your Defense still got 3 picks, but the offense did nothing with the opportunities when given. As I said its complimentary football. And it’s not just going 3 and out but how often you can force the opposing offense to do so. That’s why sacks that force 2nd and 3rd and longs are so effective as they force the opposition into “safe plays” that have low turnover possibility percentages but limit their offensive capabilities. Football is a game of tactics not just flash and muscle. Listen to how Ray Lewis talks about defensive football and you’ll understand what I mean.
