I find it funny that Goff has a better passer rating on the Lions than Stafford has with worse talent and the Lions seem ready to move on from him…
Goff is better than the Lions. Top 10 in most categories on offense and a dumpster fire team on D and coaching. The team and fans do not seem to want him. Get on a real team Goff and win a Super Bowl. Dont waste your time with the Lions let them blame it on some foolish rookie QB next year who wont last a season

    @KLS that offense isn’t top 10 they are coasting off the first game shootout. Top 10 offenses don’t get shut out by NE, shut down by Dallas and go completely dormant in the 2nd half of games. The defense is awful no doubt but Goff is never going to win this team a game. He can lose them games with his costly turnovers but he isn’t the guy to march them down the field and have a game winning drive.

I was in Goffs corner when we made the trade. I thought the rams just misused him and tanked his career, I was ready to give him a shot since he was a very high draft pick. At this point I understand what the rams understood and his stats are self serving and he is not a winning QB. I wish him luck in his check down throws in the future, maybe he will be able to make more than 2 reads per throw someday.

A very difficult press conference. It’s evident Goff was very surprised and disappointed. I guess we’ll see how much the players left standing want to do it for the remainder of the season with 10 games to go. Swift was a DNP again for practice today, I doubt he’ll see much action going forward in 2022. Swift has been a huge disappointment and Chark has been a ghost after game 1. Even with those two absent and a reshuffled O-line, this offense has put up points this year averaging around 25 per game. I just cannot fathom trading away a really good player to a divisional rival and getting such little in return. I could understand the trade if we got some help for the defense in return. Picks? Most of the recent draft picks the team was counting on this year can’t play for one reason or another. Screw the picks, get some real players who can stay on the field. To me this hurts the offense and you still have Aaron Glenn calling defensive signals to a group that is on pace to be the worst defense in NFL history.

    He’s missed on derrick Barnes but he’s healthy and plays.. Levi is the only guy not back and may never be… Thers jamo but who isn’t excited to see him play..
    the trade opens up cap gets you more picks to draft and “buy” defensive guys…
    The offense performs fine without tj on the field… This was the most expensive offense at the start of the season.. they will benefit from this trade in the long run..

Despite how many comment …I’m surprised how composed Goth is under these circumstances. Seems intelligent and I say he is firing bullets in the right direction 80-90 % of the time. I’ve seen a LOT WORSE Lion’s QB since the 60’s

Goth was already getting a great salary(we didn’t give him what you say is a large salary) …we got a temporary QB to replace someone who was unhappy in Detroit in Stafford. We got a third, and two firsts. Hockenson was never going to give this team a hometown discount (we are not building this team around a TE) ….and everyone knew that. Least we moved up quite a few draft spots and come April 2023 …that will be big on what we can do to make this at least a more competitive defense. This team was a disaster after Quinn and Co. …a financial and player personnel disaster …now we have a team that fights within 3-4 points a game, most games …and 5 of the first 65 or so picks in a loaded 2023 draft. I hate to lose Hock, I liked him, and maybe Minnesota will be able to pay him to keep him,…but he will eat up their cap space also in that case. The truth is in the drafting and that is tested every day the rest of the year and next. Mitchell …was he worth taking an injured 2nd rounder in the 5th round? …we’ll see. Was Williams the best receiver in the draft …when healthy? we’ll see. Was Pleasant the DB problem? We’ll see. This team doesn’t have to wait another 50 years to succeed. It’s closer than you think (GB is 3-5 / did you expect that …Tampa / did you expect that? the Giants 6-2 / did you expect that?
