Mike McDaniel is a genius when it comes to football and understanding people that’s a rare combination
When the season started I said, McDaniels is either a genius or a total stooge. So far he is proving to be a smart guy.
The Tua situation taught me a lot about the drastic effect the wrong coach has on a potentially great player.
Coach McDaniel is definitely the right coach for this team, and Tua looks like a completely different player this year.
The fact that a win or a loss is dependent on one guy is a problem. The back up qb needs to prepare like heās going to start which didnāt happen with Bridgewater or Thompson. They looked like they had no idea what they were doing.
@lil Sebastian teams lose with backup QBs, it happens. We lost to a bengals team that was in the Super Bowl last year, a jets team that was rolling with breece hall and an improved defense, and a Vikings team that is currently 6-1. We were in all of those games until the end with our backup quarterbacks (and many other injured players)
Itās been that way for decades now with the qb position. When you lose an elite QB, it changes everything. Thereās not even 32 great QBās in the NFL. Much less, an extra on just sitting on the bench. So the drop off from an elite QB to a backup is understandably going to cause issues with the offense, and likely lead to a bigger chance that the team will lose games. Itās just part of the game, unfortunately.
Happy to hear that not only we got two good players but we got two good guys as well. This team is going places!
The Dolphins franchise has shown more excitement and commitment to winning in the last 7-8 months than I have seen in over 20 years.

I was thinking the last time we had this much excitement for a team here in Miami not just this year but for the future and the last time I can think of was when the heat brought in LeBron and Bosh to create the Big 3.. hopefully our Dolphins win aš.. it’s been a long time coming!!
I would have preferred they continued to build through the draft. Improving the team this way is unsustainable, they’re still going to need a tackle, a safety, and a cornerback in the next draft.
The last time I remember this go for broke attitude is when Shula went nuts in the early 90s testing out this new thing called Free Agency and built a team of 1st round stars to support Dan Marino, only to fall short. This is a different methodoloy though, but really the last time I can remember this franchise truly going for it.
