Has Daniel Jones Done Enough to be Deemed “The Guy” in New York Going Forward? – FANTASY FOOTBALL FAN SITE
Antonio_11

We all know Saquon is THE guy. Jones has to be a distributor and game manager. His dual threat ability makes their ground game more reliable than most. He is the Lamar ‘milky’ edition in the NFC. Barely a top 15 passer but he can move the sticks with dual threat and effect the game.

    Owen

Wasn’t gallman better than saquon a couple years ago?

    Dylan Kolvites

@Owen yea arguably he was but saquon was also hurt and his mental game was not there and he just wasn’t playing how he did as a rookie. But now there’s no question saquon is playing at an elite level

    Sneakyninja 08

@Owen lmao stop it! He came off acl and gallman was average saquan top 3 running back when healthy. You don’t even need to look at the stats watch the games and you’ll see how much they rely on him..

Betley Island36

The numbers don’t stand out, but if you actually watch the games you’d see he’s played really well this year despite a whole bunch of nothing at WR and inconsistent at best pass blocking. He’s absolutely done enough to earn another year as the Giants QB

    shawn bopko

I think that Daniel Jones took over a up and down team before eli manning before karie Collins

    The Defenders OC

in what world?he still holds onto the ball too long and misses recievers wide open etc etc.not based on 8 games, barkley is reason giants are 6-2 not 1-7

Anon Ymous

Considering they have the worst receiving corps in all of the NFL (by far), he has done an incredible job.

The Daily Talon

The season Jones is having this year reminds me a lot of 2019 Josh Allen. Daboll is trying to take what he did with Allen in Buffalo and replicate it with Jones. Running game and defense are winning the games where Jones is basically being a game manager and doing enough to not lose the game. Then, next year, I’d expect the playbook to open up the way it did in Buffalo in 2020

    kingfulness

@The Daily Talon I don’t think Carolina is giving him up maybe a trade in the off-season but I doubt it they would ask for a first and at least a 3rd and idk if the giants would do that

    The Daily Talon

@kingfulness if the Giants feel like their contending window is officially open, I think they would. Bills gave a big haul for diggs at the right time and it’s paid dividends for them

    Mike Moran

@The Daily Talon Gonna be hard to do that cause of Kenny Golladay’s awful contract. We definitely will add a WR in the draft though

    K Y

More like Blake bottles run few years back. Jones and Allen don’t belong in the same sentence lol

    The Daily Talon

@K Y people were calling Josh Allen a bust his first two years in the league

David Burks

Daniel Jones has done enough and will do more in his second year under this system.

Dash277

He’s definitely done enough. You’d need a big name or top draft pick to improve on the position. Sign him and continue to develop him. We finally have a good GM and Coach. Offensive line is vastly better than it has been even with all the injuries. Get weapons and fill the holes in the team and then see where we are.

ThatOneGuy 123

I’m not a Jones guy. Well, not anymore. I used to be but my view has changed drastically since last season. That said, he’s been playing incredibly well imo. Better than I expected. Clowns would look at the stats and say “oh he’s buns” without watching the games. Like stats don’t lie, but they don’t tell the whole story either. He has been making plays through the air and on the ground. He’s doing the best he can with practice squad wide receivers. He hasn’t had an egregious turnover since week 1. He actually has very little turnovers on the season. Rodgers gets an excuse and he has way more talent on his team so I don’t understand why the same energy isn’t being kept. Am I sold he’s the guy moving forward? No. But he has proven me wrong on that we couldn’t win with him. But it’s what Schoen said. There’s nine more games left to evaluate. Lets see if he can keep it up. I know tall task with the lack of weapons. He also has yet to complete a full season. Can he remain healthy? And even then, it’d be one year. Could he do it again? What’s his ceiling? If it’s like Tannehill level is that really what we want? So many questions. We’ll see how it all shakes out

    pelt peltington

    so whats your problem?

Chris M

I think Mike McDaniel and Brian Daboll have proven that the difference between a qb being a guy and being the guy is highly dependent on the head coach

CharlieTWilbury

Blind dart throwing generally yields better results than draft mocks, regardless you’re right the experts all knew that Haskins was the far, far better player. So, yknow that is clearly super valuable data ya got there, lol.

Joe Campione

Get him a couple of top recievers

Valentino Urbina

I think he should stay hes proving he CAN, it’s just a team as a whole issue not just a Daniel Jones issue

Zuhaib Ahmed

Love the crew y’all! Go GMEN!!! 💙🤍❤️🤙🏼

John global

I am really gutted we did not add a wr for this team which desperately needs and deserves it for how well they have played!! Sign DJ now to a team friendly deal and build around him!!

Sneakyninja 08

I know this ain’t happening but imagine saquan and Lamar with our style of offense.. we would rush over 300 yards a game!

GE

If the Giants think Jones in THE guy good luck to ’em.

Peter Davis

Yes. Help him, support him. Enjoy the wins. And always be upgrading!

Efrain Villalobos

No, not at all. 8 games this season doesn’t qualify for a long term contract. 6 td’s in 8 games.

D S

He’s fine. It’s about the team, the coaching and game planning/game management. Daniel Jones has enough talent to play his position well

Dr Shwazz

I think he’s done enough to buy himself another year but not enough to fully commit to him as the franchise guy. Since they declined his 5th year option – they’ll probably franchise tag him.

Tom Knapp

“Is Daniel Jones earned the right to be the face of the Giants?” (84.8 career passer rating)
Giants fans: I don’t know…. He’s just really not that good.

“Was Eli a good QB?” (84.1 career passer rating, or .7 less than Jones)
Giants fans: ELI WAS A FOOTBALL GOD! I WISH HE COULD PLAY FOREVER!!!!!!
