@Alfie Bruce because we dont have a lot of cap. We need to pay Lamar. Roquan doesnt have an agent and will want top end money, which he deserves. I doubt we will be able to keep Lamar and Smith. More likely we will have to pick between one or the other and look elsewhere unless we can clear some cap
@Chad Albaugh i can assure you it wont come down to that, I can imagine next year the Ravens will cut some veterans on the defensive side and properly start building young again around those two, it makes no sense just renting Roquan Smith at this point of the Ravens cycle

@Chad Albaugh Ravens have 40M available next year. When Calais retires and they cut Boyle and one other player it’ll be 63M. They have more than enough to sign both as their first year cap hits will be lower anyway

We lost 3 games because they couldn’t close out games. Now we have Mr Smith and PQ in the middle with our defense getting healthy let’s go.
When bowser and ojabo get healthy our defense will be top 5 as long as how secondary stays healthy

Granted the lost, the Ravens had a double digit lead on the Bills in the game they played, and lost by 3. That proves they can compete with Buffalo, but the team has struggled to hold a lead. Lately they’ve been closing games out and are getting players back that will help close out games
@jjbeatle2006 ok, so the Bills had a few defensive players out. The Ravens had a few defensive players out and a few offensive players out, so maybe the hold the Bills to less AND score about the same or more when factoring in the Bills injuries. My point wasn’t that one team was better, it was that the Ravens can compete with Buffalo

Logically speaking, the Browns almost beat the Ravens (Fumble / blocked field goal inside the last minute) so if you’re saying the Ravens are as good as Buffalo, does that mean the Browns could also beat the Bills? I mean yes, anyone can beat anyone in the NFL, but the Browns could have the moxi to do it in a few weeks….
The Ravens held a 10 points lead over every single opponent they’ve played so far. Meanwhile the Titans are squeaking out wins against the Texans? That dude’s rankings makes no sense.
Having watched all the Ravens games I would say they are good enough to be a threat to any team. Their pass rush was really bad the first few games, but had improved a bit over the last couple games. Offensively, if their run game can be contained they will have trouble putting up points. Bengles were suppose to be the AFC North sweethearts, but have been playing pretty poorly this season. The new reinforced O-line in front of Burrow has been kind of crap. So I think the Ravens will probably win the division and go to the playoffs.

Yes! They already proved it. They have lead every game (elite teams included) by double digits. When they play disciplined football and trust their other players, they win. The coaching staff and culture are what is going to make this team better and better throughout the season and dangerous in the playoffs. Trust the process.

So really they traded a late 2nd for a 3rd and gave away a 5th lol.

Bears would have gotten a 3rd round compensatory pick if they kept roquan and he left in free agency.
