A timeline where Geno Smith is a top 10 QB is a timeline didn’t expect.
@James Ter Meer I haven’t seen Pete Carroll smile and have fun like this the entire time he’s been with the Seahawks. This is different. He gets to call the game with a QB that just wants to win– this QB doesn’t care if he gets all the credit/glory, or if he scores the game winning TD, he just wants to play and win. That allows Pete to call any kind of play with the purpose of gaining yards no matter how it’s done (read-option, TE screen, WR sweep, etc.), instead of trying to force the ball to certain players and get them X amount of TDs/yards with just QB passes. And it’s much more entertaining and exciting football to watch when there’s different variety of play calls.
I thought they were playing him to tank the season not to actually Win. WOW. Geno revving up.

@SUPERMA5TER I think Geno has a chip on his shoulder but his (good) attitude says otherwise. He doesn’t sound bitter in post game press conferences; I think he just wants to prove himself. I’m very excited about our prospects right now and, if our guys keep playing like they did yesterday, I hope they make him a franchise QB. I think a major part of leadership is developing chemistry and he’s done that.
Geno Smith has become the true leader of this Seattle offense, and Kenneth Walker is already in the conversation for OROY. The Defense played very well. The Seahawks are a surprise team like the Giants and the Jets

I’ll admit, I went from having no expectations at the beginning of the season, to being absolutely hyped for this team! They looked incredible today! Crazy that the worst penalty of the game for the hawks was caused by Pete! Let’s take it all the way to the SB!! Go hawks!

I realize its only half way through the season and cant get too far ahead or ourselves, but to this point, Pete Carroll has done a heck of a job. He is an excellent coach
I love this season because it further validates the great work he did when Russell was still our QB

@French Chicken this is nauseating. Just stop with the excuses, the Giants did not sniff the Red Zone outside of that Tyler Lockett fumble. They managed 6 points outside of that field position given up by the Seahawks on the 2 yard line.

I’m happy for the hawks, people gave them so much crap before the season, but Seattle has been an excellently run franchise with great coaching for 20 years now. And they are reminding everyone of that. Especially since they are having such success with geno smith and Wilson is only barely beating basement dwelling teams like Jacksonville. People have to revaluate who to give credit to for all those winning seasons now.

@OxnardMontalvo They made it to the Superbowl with Hasselbeck and Holmgren in the early 2000s and were competitive with Shaun Alexander for a few seasons and then the Legion of Boom and Wilson era. So 20 years sounds about right.

We went from giving up 45 points to Lions to holding the 6-1 Giants to 13… Its amazing how much our defense has improved in just a few weeks!

The defense has improved a lot. It took a few games to get it rolling, but now crucial stops are being made and it gives off some old 2012-2014 vibes. The offense and special teams are looking good as well, and it’s nice to see a coherent team in Seattle again.
Geno is such an inspiration. Imagine being a backup qb for years and when it was his time to shine, He made it worth their while. Gotta have respect for Geno

I have eaten my crow and have changed my tune. One week, meh…two weeks…hmmm….3 weeks….I’ll be damned….4 weeks, looking up crow recipes, lol. I was sure he would taper off and revert to his usual but I will say that I have been sadly disappointed! Go Hawks!

@Thomas Shanks he did have a rough game, he had 2 lingering injuries to his ribs and hamstring coming into this game, but he kept fighting, and he made a few key plays when we really needed them

Geno is genuinely humble and playing the best game of his life. Like everyone else has said I didn’t expect this year to go well for us but am pleasantly surprised with how things have gone thus far. Glad to have K9, Nwosu, Mafe, Jackson, Cross and all the other new additions as well. This is a young team with room for improvement but I see good things in the works. GG giants, wish you well!
