Mac better play amazing when he gets back or he may lose his job… I’m shocked at what Zappe has done but I still prefer Mac that’s just my opinion though

@92 Boas mac had a bad start but he did really good last year they just need to give him another chance. I’m happy that Zappe has performed well but I’ll always stick with mac and I think that’s what’s better for the team

@JL 2X You are correct. Judon is playing at a pro-bowl caliber level. Wise is also playing extremely well for us given his contract. He has consistently improved every year he plays. Will be interesting to see just how good jack and marcus jones can develop, seeing very nice things from them as well.

@Al Bundy Look at Chase, Hill, Metcalf, Lockett, McLaurin, etc. Speed kills in the NFL. It would be beyond moronic for a player to try to “tame that speed”. It’s a gift and he needs to use it. It opens everything up for an offense.

Zappe plays with a certain decisiveness that Jones doesn’t. I don’t know if that’s down to the relative simplicity of the offense or what, but it inspires confidence.

Seems like more of the playbook is available with Zappe. Just my opinion…
@carsonc29 I think it boils down to the playbook that each QB ran in college. Mac fits the BB offense (pro style) but Bailey was more so on the Air Raid so, BZ’s offense is more entertaining to watch with the second and third level passes.
Zappe is about to be benched, we all know Mac is better, Zappe didn’t do anything this game, the browns turnovers and the run game did all the work, Zappe is there to just hand over the ball to the running back.

If you want to see how good Zappe was today, don’t look at his stats, look at the WR stats. Everybody ate, like 6 guys with 3+ catches, 4 or 5 guys with 50-60+ yards. He just hit the open man all game like a pre 2007 Tom Brady used to.
@ladawg81 Saying that Mac is 2-8 is very miss leading. Those 8 loses aren’t all on him. Also Bill didn’t let him throw because the wind was so bad and they didn’t need to because the Bills couldn’t stop the run. That has nothing to do with the Pats not trusting him with throwing the ball.
@malachi rhodes it doesn’t matter. Brady would get red hot in the cold. If our qb can’t play in the cold and if he’s not clutch, which Mac is neither of those things, then we should trade him to some sucky team for a first round pick. They can get hyped over his griddys and we can get another franchise player for that pick.

In order to make a clutch comeback you need your defense to get a stops so that your offense can score. Last year late in the season the defense couldn’t do that. A 2nd year QB has a rough patch and suddenly a rookie with 2 games under his belt is the new shiny object. 🤣 Maybe Zappe will end up the better QB but there isn’t enough in his limited game film to say he’s better than Mac. No tough throws, no high level competition. Mostly just throws to wide open guys. Not a knock on Zappe. Just need to pump those brakes.

It’s worth remembering “once upon a time” Tom Brady was in the same kind of pressure cooker situation. This is why I’m starting to wonder if Mac Jones is a “red herring” and Zappe was the intended “heir” all along…

So this is how it works – It usually takes an entire season for NFL defensive coordinators to figure out a rookie QB and how to counter them defensively .. Many times a rookie or even a backup who’s played sparingly enter a game and seem to be successful.. (that’s because teams weren’t prepared in the game plan to play them) By December nearly everyone had Mac Jones figured out and he lost 4 of his last 5 starts to end the season. Zappe’s played a bad Lions team and an equally bad Browns team and in this comment section I’ve read where people are saying he’s the next Brady or he looks like Rodgers – Beyond totally casual and preposterous .. Does he have potential?? – yes / but 2 games and week 6 of an NFL season and he’s reminding people of Superstar veterans who have been in the league 18-23 years .. ?? Too Funny
