Trevor Lawrence: “Just missed too many opportunities.” | Postgame Press Conference | Week 5 – FANTASY FOOTBALL FAN SITE
Cheyenne Longfox

We really need to start seeing the kind of production becoming of a number one pick on a consistent basis some incredibly sloppy football

    Durango 88

    Blows

    ZDUNKS NFL

@Durango 88 Beathard would lead us to more wins than Lawrence….he’s making so many mistakes tryna do too much

    Durango 88

    @ZDUNKS NFL Yesssssssss 👍🏻

    ZDUNKS NFL

@Durango 88 seriously, jus look at what Cooper Rush is doing. He’s playing mediocre mistake-free football. If Tlaw did a shred of that, we’d be 4-1

    TheColorBlack

@ZDUNKS NFL what do you see from Beathard to make that statement? Serious question

nathan smith

Starting to look like our two wins were blips

jvilletaylor

Trevor is taking too long to settle in and that’s been a common denominator in all of the losses. Doug comes up with a great scheme to start out fast and drive down the field and Trevor is missing those throws. He’s getting too antsy which is causing the inaccurate throws. He also puts too much heat on the ball when he shouldn’t and is struggling with touch passes down the field. If he doesnt clean this up then we’ll continue to be the same old Jags.

    Antione Jackson

Did I missed when they went up 14 nothing against the Eagles. That’s coming out hot y’all give this sorry defense way to many passes

    Hombre Astuto

@Antione Jackson one TD was a pic six by the defense. Offensively they had a good drive abecuase of play calling with guys scheme open. It all stalled after that.

    skipg73

@Chef_Floridaboi Everything that was successful in the first half they stopped doing which is running.

    Patrick Smith

@skipg73 I agree no QB should throw almost 50 passes. We abandon a running game that was working forM time to time. I keep telling people more people to blame on this loss then just Trevor.

    skipg73

@Patrick Smith Doug is trying to play Madden with real life players, he thinks he can glitch Trevor into being the NFL passing leader.

Patrick Gunsaullus

Holding On To The Ball Too Long Doesn’t Help Things Either

Matt Jones

Needs to see qb coach guru, Tom house, in the off-season before its too late

Travis Thomas

He makes it harder on himself. You got guys wide open 10 yards down field or easy tuck and run opportunities but he goes for the most difficult play every time. Nothing wrong with carving a team up 5-10 yards a play, which he can do as a dual threat. He and the staff sees it on film but they refuse to do so.

    TMFiJII Beatz

He want the highlight reel play instead of making the easy decision

    Travis Thomas

@TMFiJII Beatz I don’t get it and I definitely don’t understand why it keeps happening. Every game he can have 240 passing yards and 40-60 rushing yards but he keeps on making it harder on himself. The opportunities are there.

904DUVAL

I just want to see him start one game without overthrowing WR on first drive

Aaron Bolton

Gotta have that it factor and be consistent!! Make the right decisions as well!

    Iambriangregory

That’s right he is not got the it Factor except for marketing and that’s probably what they’re doing trying to market him and puff up somebody that has got nothing

    Lakers4Life

    He doesn’t have it

Hunter Herrin

Everyone in these comments needs to chill… y’all make the fan base look terrible. We will be okay.

Stan Dupp

Every time the ball leaves his hands I get nervous .. shouldn’t be that way for your franchise QB.

January Man

2nd year QB early in his second year, I’m not gone bury the kid besides, 9 losses to the Texans Trevor didn’t lose all nine

Vize Jace

Usually I would be positive and say “oh yea we’ll get it next week” but THAT WAS FLAT OUT HORRIBLE

ThaFuzzyMan

At the start of the game I thought Trevor looked like something was wrong. He looked stressed or something. I actually asked what was wrong with him to my family. I wasn’t the only one that noticed the 0 energy. Maybe he’s not a hyped guy, but my goodness. He has the energy of a stoner. It looked like he didn’t wanna be out there. Get the juices flowing man. Slap some helmets. Yell at people for all I care. I hope everything is okay and that he figures it out. He seems like a great guy, but I kinda wanna see him angry. I wanna see some tenacity and hunger.

    SmodeLrsx

A lot of pressure on this kid though

    ThaFuzzyMan

@SmodeLrsx A lot of pressure on every QB.

reynarain

Im a big Devin Lloyd fans and love the Jags young defense. They are a fast tough young bunch of dogs. Your defense is legit top 10 in my opinion. The problem with Trevor is he has a hitch in his throwing motion which makes the ball sail into outerspace and late on his throws. Its a mechanical issue that shows up against good defenses that speed up the clock. It also inhibits him from throwing on the run with accuracy. These issues were obvious in college against LSU Ohio State against top tier defenses. It allows defensive backs to get a split second read on his throws. This issue will always hold Trevor back from being great. Ive never seen a great quarterback with those mechanical issues. He can only throw the ball in one motion.

Johnny S.

He’s gonna be making some enemies in the locker room with this interview for sure. He’s eluding to how his offensive teammates need to clean things up, and how the coaches don’t always call the right plays???

???? Bro. In these last two games, only player who hasn’t shown up when it matters most is YOU!!

Any experienced veteran backup QB could win with this team. The way the Defense is playing. The amount of time the O-line is giving Trevor. Imagine what we could be doing with literally anyone else with at least 7+ years league experience.

ThaFuzzyMan

He’s firing the ball 5-10 yards deep like he’s trying to throw it through someone. There’s a lot of defenders that can’t even catch his passes because it come in so hot. If it weren’t for that he’d have way more interceptions than he already has. He has a strong arm. I don’t know if it’s NFL or MLB. I remember when Byron Leftwich was here and he had similar throws. They actually had to tell him to stop throwing it so hard. I believe he was actually a former pitcher though.

    Dukie Doomsayer

Or receivers just need to use their hands to catch the ball. You heard receivers say Favre threw hard and dislocated their fingers, but it made them better pass catchers. That’s what separates average NFL receivers from GREAT NFL receivers. A QB should be able to throw a 10 yard dart to move the chains.

ThaFuzzyMan

Garrard, Bortles, and Minshew played with soul. They didn’t get us a trophy, but they gave us memories and moments of greatness. I hope Trevor can achieve the same, but he’s looking more like a Blaine Gabbert at this point. A rocket arm, but not much else.

    Gatsby Corleone

Hit it right on the head… Don’t forget Marky B was thee heart an soul of the jags…

    jazzdude904

Woah… Trevor is way better than Gabbert. He reads defenses and has much better anticipation and much more accurate. While he has tremendous room to improve, he’s not Gabbert bad. Not even close.

Super TAL

I still believe in TL completely but have to say that he has to quit overthrowing receivers. He was like that at Clemson. The Clemson receivers had to constantly make great and unbelievable catches making him look good. I believe he’s going to get better and be a very good quarterback, but he has to settle down and be more accurate – specifically not overthrow the ball.

qownsqud

He just needs to relax. In college he was so comfortable in all situations. But now in the pros, theres a sense of heightened urgency and its causing him to force things too much. I know that comes with the massive jump from college to the NFL but hes missing gimme throws too often. Calm down, settle in, and just be the player you can be

Marcus Medlock

One thing that will tremendously help this guy is if he will quit looking for the 60 yard touchdown all the time. Tape after tape shows clearly that guys are open in the flat, and check down options are available. He’s passing those up for the bomb down field to a guy that’s double covered.

Take what’s there and keep the drive alive man. Quit trying to get it all in one play.
