Ed has to figure it out soon. Can’t keeping on with the soft shell coverage

Bhukka Ram

Stop playing soft zone coverage. Defense need to be more aggressive at front. STOP THE RUN 😡😡

    Isis Sabra

I understand but when any team employs a new defense the protocol is to play soft so muscle memory can be established then tighten it up when the new defense has become a good muscle memory for everyone. Not doing that usually lead’s to big plays.

    D Lindstrom

Find another safety that can hit and Tackle like an NFL Safety. The Cornerback to safety experiment isn’t working. Cam Bynum simply isn’t physical or strong enough to be a safety. He was carried back to the endzone twice in the last two weeks when it should have been No gain. He is also getting beat downfield in pass coverage in key situations.

    Briana W

Think he’s not blitzing b/c he has lack of confidence in the 3yr, CB we have?

    Adrian Budhoo

He’s so stubborn with his scheme and not letting the run defense gel because he’s not giving them the plays and putting them in position

    Adrian Budhoo

@Briana W that ain’t it we got talented corners that can play man

Bobby Baschet

They’re winning in spite of this guy’s horrendous scheme

Kirby Puckett

This guy reminds me of ex-Gophers coach Jim Wacker!!

Bobby Baschet

Teams are chewing us up underneath. It doesn’t have to be this challenging every week

WHATEVER

Ed, you need to do the opposite of what ur doing. Hunter hand in dirt, blitz more & mix coverages with man to man!!!

WHATEVER

Less talk & more aggressive action!!!

Joey Pesek

Ed your scheme isn’t working. Change it. Send more pressure. Take the load off our CBs.

martin olson

If the Bears dink and doink their way down the field..if gonna be really pissed….Like everyone else here, we feel you need to stop the soft shell coverage…..blitz more….just be more aggressive…

Jeremy Watson

Great job coach we love you! Skol!

Austin Platt

This defensive scheme isn’t looking too hot or promising thus far. Hopefully it’s still the team acclimating and they will get better over time!

Florence Dahl

More aggressive defense is better than the soft zone coverage like to see more attacking and stop the opposing team’s run. SKOL 💯

D Lindstrom

We are 3 and 1 after facing 2 of the top 4 ranked teams. The number 1 offense and the Saint’s Defensive line are ranked really high as well. Yet we have some really arrogant media and their fan base that buys into their Negativity. Some are already suggesting we fire this man. He has been saying all along there will be an adjustment period and we are improving every week. Our corners had their best game. Danniel Hunter will get better every week and I am sure he will have double-digit sacks by the end of the season. He could get 5 Sunday. Skol Vikes.

    Michael Mason

    Agreed.
Another worthy note – The Lions are the highest scoring offense in the NFL and its not even that close. Ravens are pretty close.
We need to figure out the Run Defense though…. It’s going to burn us.
Teams have been straight up disrespectful to us going for the 1st down on 4th down… They clearly don’t fear our defense much. Opposing coaches clearly see the holes in our Defense.

    Adrian Budhoo

The main focus should be getting this run defense better and he’s not allowing that with his shell scheme and how he’s lining them up, hes not helping them get better with the run like we the talent to stop the run at high level it shouldn’t look that bad and you can see it’s Donatell scheme that’s hurting us, once we take care of the run defense everything will come together and we can have a really tough all around defense

Michael Mason

“What do you think of Cameron Dantzlers play thus far”
Donatell – “Patrick Peterson is a great husband and father”

Johnny Teach

I believe in Ed Donatel. I think the defensive issues are more of learning a new complicated system. I think he’s been keeping things simple to attempt to get them to gel together better and to cover up weaknesses on the back end. But the defense has kept the games within range to win.

The offense is what’s frustrating. We have so much talent on that end of the ball yet we are not showing that on the field. Way too much focus being spent on JJ when we have so many other elite skill players. We should be putting up a minimum of 3 touchdowns a game. We should be scoring 30 plus points fairly regularly. But we suck in the red zone and don’t seem to fire on all cylinders.

Vino Valentino

This man is a professional, let him do his job his way. 3-1 Skol Vikings!

Mark White

I just want him to be more aggressive with the dbs make it difficult for the wrs and just tighten up on the run defense we should be good

Adrian Budhoo

He’s a bad D Coordinator he so stubborn with his scheme, he barely mixes it up, and hes not letting them the run defense gel and get better not putting them play to there full potential with the run defense because he’s focused on so many zone coverage and shell he’s not letting the run defense get better and gel together

Mitchell McBeain

I am not confident in this scheme, but I’ll give benefit of the doubt so far.

Just based on time acclimating and working through kinks.

But if Justin Fields and the bears tear up our defense, it needs to be immediately changed or this guy needs to be fired.

It’s one of the worst o lines in the NFL, with one of the worst offensive groups in the NFL. With a 2nd year QB who’s been struggling. With our players alone, it should be a dominating performance. And anything less says that the scheme and the coach simply aren’t cut out for this team.
