@Adam Quraishi I texted a friend just a few days ago that it will be Bears/Bills next year. Who knows? They have a vibe like the 2005 team, but with a quarterback who has his marbles, composure, and talent, maybe next year they can have a team like the 2006 Bears, but with a better passing game. We certainly shall see.

The Bears’ rushing attack was stellar, but I wasn’t fully satisfied with this win. Justin Fields needs to read defenses better, and Matt Eberflus needs to learn to use timeouts to save himself time to get into better field goal positioning
@Jerod Lewis Even a rookie does no keep the ball on an RPO when there is an unblocked defender lind up… the decision to hand off is made before he even get under center… but he keeps it… that is high school level reads.. so dont excuse that to a QB in his shophmore year.. not a rookie.
@Christopher Cameron Trubisky had similar circumstances. He came in rookie year. Played under new coach second year and made pro bowl (I know it was alternate but Fields is not even sniffing that). I know it’s not PC with the woke mob and BQM (Black quarterbacks matter) but if he was white, fans would call for his benching.
They say usually 3 seasons/years for your rookie qb to fully understand the concept and to read defenses better I think fields can get there plus THIS MAN NEEDS HELP THERES NO RECIEVERS besides Mooney
@Joe Burner I am not worried about fields he will be fine everybody relax, I know he had two bad games Peyton Manning didn’t have a great season his first year by his 2nd he gradually figured it out? Are number 1 receiver is doubled a lot, are tight end really doesn’t get separation? That’s why he pulled the ball down and ran. When its nobody open he has to check it down or run next time? Mitch trubisky had way better weapons his 2nd year and that guy constantly threw to cover 2 defenses deep especially 2018 game with Minnesota. I didn’t see a great arm with Mitch trubisky or fundamental understanding of what he is looking at? If Fields plays like Mitch trubisky in that 2019 home opener against the Packers than I wil get worried?

This was BEARS FOOTBALL at its finest. Elite running game, can’t pass, playing decent to elite defense, and winning by 3. Bears wanna win games instead of developing Justin Fields. And i can care less about if they lose by 15-20 points, and JF is like 15-35 with 3-4 picks. It’ll pay off in the long term with either him showing he can get through adversity and get better from his mistakes, or the bears will be picking in the top 5 for another qb. Taking that approach is a win win situation. Not winning games with JF struggling and you’re trying to hide him.
Actually any other team in the NFL and the Bears would have lost.. Mills as to date has not shown me much of anything.. but hey, we should probably get the #1 over all pick by years end.. so we can go get a QB like Stroud.

The fact that they didn’t have Pierce on the field at that point feels like tanking
But was on the field multiple times even if the play didn’t go directly through him. It was egregious
I love the excitement of the cbs announcers.. as a bears fan, I know the Chicago/Houston game probably isn’t first on the list of games for announcers to cover but I thought he did a great job

I was there live too 🐻👇. it was my first regular season game and I sat 3rd row. it was sooo much fun. the energy and the hospitality from all the Bears was amazing. I had a great experience. I went to a preseason game in 2020 but this was way more exciting. You’re right though when Roquan got that pick at the end we all went bananas.

Hopefully Montgomery heals up quickly but I feel pretty good about Herbert going forward if he’s gonna be the Bears #1 back for awhile.
He’s the better running back anyways. Should’ve traded Montgomery after what we seen what Herbert can do the last time David was hurt.

As a Vikings fan they took Herbert in the 7th round I think? and I watched him a lot in college and knew it was a tremendous value selection. He’s a good player.

@C G Aaron Rodgers picks apart most defenses especially when the offense can’t stay on the field. The Texans offense has issues, but had it not been for the turnovers, they’d have done enough to win.
@P. Doetsch that was the smarter play. You’re already in play for a chip shot game winner. Secure the INT and get down so you don’t fumble. There have been plenty of times in this league where scoring, or even just trying to score, early caused you to lose the game.

@C G ikr. The linebacker position is evolving. Roquan is great against the run but in pass coverage he’s awful because he’s big and slow. With the 4-3 defense the bears run now, he’s being asked to cover more because the bears hardly blitz so it doesn’t really make sense to keep him at a price that isn’t team friendly

We are in a rebuild the only thing i care about this season is our young guys improving. Stingley and Pitre on defense has been standouts our safeties are getting the most tackles on this defense
Mills isn’t the long term solution, he doesn’t have the clutch in him and is terrible in the 4th quarter that’s okay. We didn’t invest 1st round on him
This team has a ways to go so as Texans fans it’s just to be patient right now. We have virtually no pieces to work with
@John Garza hopkins is overrated, Brandin Cooks is better (he’s been to 2 SBs with 2 different teams)
A single WR wasn’t gonna solve the team, they needed to rebuild and should’ve got better capital from him but the Texans are set to be better than most AFC South teams in the future
That was a solid win, though Justin threw two INTs. The ground game also was solid, with Herbert putting over 100 yards; the defense held its own. More is to come. I kinda see where the new coach is going with this team. I hated last week’s game, it was a total embarrassment, which is understandable for they were at home. As long as he beats Rogers in Chicago, he’ll be cool with me.
