Nathaniel Hackett after loss to Seahawks: Broncos need to be better in the red zone – FANTASY FOOTBALL FAN SITE
Adam Powell

I like coach but if he wanted respect from everyone let ya nuts hang and go for it. 64 yards is wild considering Russel is our QB

    Eric

It’s not even like Wilson was struggling to move the ball. He had 350 passing yards already. Makes no sense at all

James Davis

LOL. Oh come on! Your decision to kick a 64 yard FG, when the longest in that stadium is only 58 yards, and take the ball out of your Hall of Fame QB’s hands was STUPIDITY. This Hackett guy better wake up. It is dumbfounding that a HC would think a 64 yard FG has a better chance than your team picking up five yards. Unreal.

    Professional Dirt Mover

7% odds of making the kick. 35% odds of converting the 4th down. 💯 percent odds of winning with any other high school level- NFL coach making decisions throughput the game.

    Flyerman777

Let’s not forget taking 25seconds to call a timeout just to kick when he could have used those 3 timeouts on the other side of the ball giving them another chance

    Benjamin Kastenbaum

@Caps5200 They’re not losing to the Texans

    Renee Wesby

Can’t leave the game in the hands of a kicker I don’t care who are if you turn the ball over 4 times in the end zone tht type of playing won’t even be a high school team..that’s a fact I’m a. Broncos fan all day every day. But I call a spade a spade

Sean Mahoney

Disappointing loss but there’s a large amount of positive results from tonight. First game for the coach, QB, offense, in addition to playing in the most possible hostile environment with highly emotional circumstances. Broncos will clean things up and this team will only get better every game. They looked good today outside of the penalties.

    Cory Winget

You kidding me? Russell Wilson looked awful

    Jacob

@Egorgia Wireless lol what? Did you literally just say that the fumbles didn’t have anything to do with us scoring or not? Have you never watched football a day in your life?

    Jacob

@JSauer21 ok, but I don’t even think it was a red flag. One bad game doesn’t equal a red flag. Were there mistakes? Yea, but it’s all new coaches with a new offense and new QB.

    Egorgia Wireless

@Jacob So you didn’t listen. Great. Melvin fumbled on 4th down dumbshit. He was short anyway. And Javonte wouldn’t been short even if he didn’t fumble, and that was on 3rd down, leaving 1 down. My point is regardless if they fumbled or not, we were not scoring on that play, and in the 1st case that drive.

    JSauer21

@Jacob Most people think he was very bad that game not just me, obviously you disagree. Let’s hope that he learns quickly and doesn’t let these mistakes continue through his tenure like Fangio did, who showed the exact same thing when he started here

Laughing At you

I seen some great things tonight. The Defense stuck it out and kept Seattle to 17 points for a quarter and a half and that is a major plus. Running backs are tough and did well. Some great catches. The touchdown in the corner that wasn’t challenged but it was caught in the end zone. 23-17 the field goals was great tonight and punts were great too. Once the Broncos start scoring the Broncos are going to be tough to beat. I will take this as a win for me in toughness. You watch Denver is going to be scary. 16 games to go and take it one game at a time. I am excited for this season. Let’s GO !. Just take it easy. I am going to Chubbysgood night. See yall crazy gizzards later. Peaceful

    Jesse Robison

@MassiveAttackFan you don’t get invited to many parties do you

    MassiveAttackFan

@Jesse Robison I’m the life of the party, and I’m right about football enough to usually win 100-200 extra bucks every month during the season with bets, but do go on…

    Ty Tratar

You remind me of that violin player aboard the titanic!

    Christian Meijer

Bro. They had Geno Smith. When we play the chiefs we are fucked.

    Angel Vazquez

    @MassiveAttackFan relax. Enjoy that 9-5 today. Not a flex to earn a extra 100-200 a year bud😭

outroseok

Idk this loss would’ve hurt a bit less if we had lost on 4th down rather than losing bc of a 64 yard field goal attempt which is next to impossible and longer than mcmanus’ career high. we only needed 5 yards to get the first down, just FIVE. wouldn’t have hurt to try. 🙃 but oh well what’s done is done and all we can do is HOPEFULLY bounce back!

    Lawrence Gallegos

Doubt it if we would have went for it we mad because we know Brandon can make it and he didn’t give him a chance we fumbled TWICE in the redzone how is holding on to a football a coach’s job

    MacMan

@MassiveAttackFan what the hell are you talking about lol Every single bronco player knows they beat themselves last night. They will be in beast mode next week against the Texans 💯

    Aaron Cashman

@cfjen yeah when he goes out there i have all the confidence in the world in mcmanus but look at the statistics on 64+yd fg’s

    Scott Flipiak

McManus had a Total of 5 FG Attempts, if You count the 2 that didn’t count, Due to TOs being called . . . . And He did hit the 64 yrd. FG, that He had taken just before before that Last One
    🏈🏈😭🏈🏈😭🏈🏈😭🏈🏈😭🏈🏈

    Benjamin Kastenbaum

@Jake The Snake Yes all the league’s best coaches like Sean McVay last year who won the Super Bowl.

Flea1301

The last drive of this game made Vic Fangio’s game management seem like Mike Shanahan’s. I hope Hackett eventually understands how terrible that drive was decision and management wise otherwise we’re in trouble.

    Jake The Snake

SERIOUSLY. and he isnt owning up to any of it

    Mark Terry

That is the elephant in the middle of the room. Will someone please take responsibility for the thirty- something seconds that swirled down the drain before our last timeout?

    YaBoi

Hackett isn’t the reason we lost this game, not even close

    Jake The Snake

@YaBoi conservative play calling got blown up resulting in fumble. Starters didn’t play in the preseason. No ball security tests

St2ewwwReacts

Hackett please never do that again. That’s that Green Bay stuff kicking field goals when you got an elite Qb. Not going to win like that.

    jon snow

Exactly. He learned it by watching Rodgers — how to play gutless football and blame everything else except his poor decision

D_ROK_719

Hackett needs to take accountability for that endgame misplay. He was absolutely 100% out coached tonight.

    Jeffrey Stevens

@Roy Fletcher Jr. not to mention half the penaltys called last night were bullshit and one sided… the roughing the passer was absolutely ridiculous

    Roy Fletcher Jr.

@Jeffrey Stevens true, but my offense has been struggling and my defense has been stopping them and playing great up until then. He gave his offense a chance to win the game with a td. A field would have only made it 2 points ahead meaning all they had to do was marching it down to the 35 and kick a field goal to win. So question is do u put it on your offensive to win or ur defense. He is an offensive minded coach he choose his offense. At the end of the day his offensive let him down and cost him the game his 250mil qb screw up a fake pump and instead of get a 1st or getting it closer so he his kick could get a better chance of winning the game, he gets a 4 and 5. Idk after seeing that would have 2nd thoughts too on what to do.

    Roy Fletcher Jr.

@Jeffrey Stevens as for the preseason yea I agree but I think after tonight he knows now he made a mistake. He is young and learning. I’m not trying to say Hackett is perfect he made mistakes but they didn’t cost us the game. The pump fake screw up on 3 and 5 cost us the game. The 250mil qb cost us the game.

    Roy Fletcher Jr.

@Jeffrey Stevens yea the calls were one sided but I rather lose this game then a game later in the year where we shouldn’t be losing them. Honestly I think russ”s head wasn’t in the game tonight he made alot of mistakes himself that cost us the game. I like russ and hate to say this but it’s true. I know his heart will always be in Seattle so I think him getting booed may have effected him alittle. Hey at least we didn’t lose to Drew Lock, could you image, lol

    dabney offermein

@Cam Forbes but horrendous clock management is

David Wynn

He felt confident in his kicker to win the game but not his Superbowl winning QB that the Broncos are paying a quarter of a billion dollars. Are you serious?

    jon snow

He had 20 seconds and a 4th & 5. Mahomes went 40 yards in 13 seconds. Hackett is a bust already

    Joseph Bouchard

@jon snow not even that he had 50 seconds if he would’ve burned that time out

    MackDye

    Yes he was serious…

Dylan Noell

Offense looks great until the Red Zone. Great receivers and a better looking run game. Defense needs to be better. Need Josey Jewell back. Hackett needs better game management skills. We’ll be better

BigBucks Wayne

We literally beat ourselves, terrible play calling in the redzone and our last drive was absolutely horrendous, on to next week though

    BigBucks Wayne

@Phil P fan of the team so I’ve always been saying we, of course I know I’m not on the team bud

    Jody Thomas

    @Phil P

Lmao gotta love the fake edgy people like yourselves, you really got him good, buddy. Now go to bed, you gotta be up early to catch the bus so you’re not late to middle school.

cc

He froze. Period. There’s no explanation about that whole sequence at the end that could justify a thing. He panicked in his debut

Bobbyhillthe3rd

I don’t know who’s decision it was to run out of the shotgun from the 1 yard line not once but twice both resulting in fumbles but please don’t ever do that again. Call a half back dive or a power run

    MackDye

That would be head coach Nathaniel Hackett.

    Bobbyhillthe3rd

    @MackDye or Justin outen

Cory Winget

My favorite part of the game was when all of a sudden Hackett remembered he had time outs after he lost the game

    Z356

I was at the game and it pissed me off because all it did was prevent the inevitable

    Ryan Brooke

    🤣🤣

    Highplains Drifter

    @Cory WInget Lol

    Bruce Bramblett

Lmao, he is a clown. He got more excited about Wilson’s wife.

    Cory Winget

@Bruce Bramblett i also like how he turned red like the Kool aid man and started talking like a spazzed out 12 year old in his presser

Sean Robinson

My man went for a 64 yard FG…….instead of fail on 4th and 5

J.J. Perez

That moment was wayyyyyyyyy too big for this coach. He was in over his head. He seemed flustered and even when he came to the podium it seemed like he was trying to overcompensate. This coach lost this game for his team for sure. Lack of focus, mismanagement of the time clock, bad play calls, etc.

    Joseph Ramone

This guy was once a top NFL offensive coordinator? Really?! Most high school coaches would’ve called a better offensive game. He is absolutely way in over his head. I hope the light bulb turns on at some point, if not he’s not going to last beyond this season.

    Minh Nguyen

@Joseph Ramone forget end of season, if he does 2-4 in 6 games, he should be fire

    Arashi Dark Knight

@Minh Nguyen yeah no seriously Nathaniel Hackett makes the Brian Flores thing seem reasonable now. 😂

And John

Offense looked great moved the ball pretty well. First half D was bad but second half they did a good job . We lost on the road and it’s week 1 overall I think we gonna be good . Let’s move on laast year we started 3-0 and stuff went left for some reason I feel comfortable and I know we gonna be ok

f🏈🏈tball & crabcakes

never heard Hackett speak so fast in my life, he was out of his element. and he has more explaining to do today. wish him the best after a tumultuous start. (he’ll be fine)

RockyMountains

I do agree that clock management, red zone play calls, and penalties are major issues that cost us the game. But it this was only the 1st game of the season. These mistakes are all coachable and can be changed over time. This team has more potential and looked better than it ever has in the last 7 years at least offensively imo. I don’t think we should be calling for people being fired or saying all these off season decisions were mistakes after just one game on the road in one of hardest stadiums to play in. A hard loss to stomach but I’m excited to see what this team can develop into. This is just start. Let’s ride!
