Wasn’t Brissett ranked the 31st best QB in the league? People really want the Browns to fail it seems. I never thought Brissett was bad when he faced the Browns.

No he is not…thankfully he’s not being presented to Browns fans as the starter. Baker isn’t good enough either but Baker is better for the most part. It would seem that Brisset understands his limitations more than Baker might.
Then why did the browns win?
@Aaron Miller Well there’s at least a few reasons. What Brissett does well is what the Browns needed, Baker plays great out in front but far from great when it’s the last drive of the game and “it needs to happen now” Baker’s only time coming through for Cleveland like that was against a 1-4-1 Bengals team to Peoples-Jones in the end zone. you could argue that he also came through today for the Panthers but that literally was only the 3rd time in his career ( the other time was against the team formerly known as the Cleveland Browns but we lost that game thanks to Lamar Jackson. Another reason is we have Cade York who introduced himself to Cleveland about as well as any athlete has in a long long long time.
I’m sure there are others but that’s just off the top of my head.
We need to start Dobbs next game. GO BROWNS!!!

Brissett was fine, but Dobbs can be great for week 2. Dobbs was great during preseason.
He was great against 3rd stringers and practice squad players. I would watch actual tape on Dobbs in the regular season.

For everyone saying start Dobbs next week, he played well in the pre-season against 3rd Stringers and the practice squad against base packages in watered down offensive schemes. Go watch actual tape of him. Heโd be lucky to do any better than brissett.

The fact is Baker had only one good quarter, and 2 big plays, the other 3 quarters he was Baker as we have seen. 5 block passes, fumbles, interceptions, hit when passing and scaked, and McCafferty bailed him out on one fumble which saved their chances to win by picking up the fumble and making a massive gain from it if not drive is dead. Browns had a few more chances to score if they had scored once more for 7, the game been out of reach because Baker is Baker. Jacoby looked fair but did not shoot us in the foot, and he looked better than Baker for 3 quarters, and Baker is more talented but he cannot accept he is only a very good backup and play within his skill level as Jacoby does, he knows what he is. Baker is a 500 at best unless he gets an easy schedule, watch where the Panthers end up this year.
Played a real smart game of football! Nothing flashy or over the top. Took good care of the ball. Hit some tight windows and converted on some big 3rd downs.
Brissett played well , the announcers seemed like they had a bias against him. While old Baker was stinking up the Panthers stadium with his horrible play the announcers kept talking Brisset.
Would love to see dobbs used in certain packages just for his running ability
