Jalen Richard was the best blocking RB we had last year.
@Galactic Goo uh no, it’s only week 1. Look at what Jakob Johnson did vs the bills when they only beat them by running the ball. We literally have the same lineup.
Jacob’s is out there blocking like he’s trying to stay healthy.

Him and Ingold walking out really hurt us I think. Drake too, but I may be in the minority thinking that.

Despite poor play offensively outside of Adams, there was definitely positives like our defense in a sense. They showed they can somewhat hold up a really good offense and put our offense in a position of success. Only week 1!

I thought Jacobs ran good besides the one time he lost his footing trying to make a sharp cut.
I’m glad that the D is tackling this year (week 1) because years of past we’ve been bad at tackling overall.

Most blame should be on McDaniels. Piss poor adjustments for the Charger pass rush .
When they started the last drive they had 3:45 on teh clock and two timeouts. Yet, they went with an empty backfield, ven though the run had been very effective the two prior drives. That allowed Mack and Bosa to dial in.
I thought the same! They should have chipped BOTH bosa and Mack on the line of scrimmage.
I’m not being negative. But I expect more out of coach McDaniels as being a offensive genius

Our offense was like 11th, 8th and 11th last few years. Added best wr in league to good offense, should be better
@Jason Schreib81 That Adams trade was a mistake. Derek will feel obligated to throw him the ball way too many times and Josh will want him to so the trade is justified. Didn’t need Adams. And Adams will very soon regret leaving Aaron.
@Janoy Cresva And? He had no help most of the time. He’s never had an offense or defense like this ever. We have more than just Khalil Mack this time.
Chandler Jones was one of the biggest disappointments, he struggled getting off blocks. He also had Justin once but almost doesn’t count.

Carr doesn’t need to run but he does need to have better pocket awareness and evade tackles by side stepping and moving in the pocket to make throws
Lol even if he did run he wasn’t going to out run Mack or bosa. It’s the honest truth as well.
@Leo Garcia I didn’t say run….. I said move in the pocket and not just stand there. He had plenty of opportunities to move and try and make a throw. The line averaged about 2.7 seconds. That’s plenty of time to make a throw but he was holding too long and just taking the hits. If you’re going to get hit at least try to evade first
I agree, even just to break the pocket to throw it out of bounds has to be better than just eating sacks lol he had plenty of lanes. It’s okay shake that one off
While I’m greatly disappointed in Carr and the Oline, this was some humble pie for the starters and coaches thinking they were all that already. Now we learn who’s gonna step up and who won’t. 🤞 this week is better or it could get ugly fast.

I just finished watching the ALL 22 film of this game…..I’ve coached a lot of years at the collegiate level. Admire coach McDaniels greatly. His years in New England was outstanding…..even called 920 Am to tell Raider Nation that McDaniels is the perfect guy for the job……this game film I just finished watching,….is some of the worst film I have ever watched.
The oline coach should be ashamed how bad each pocket was for Carr. Both tackles were driven to the Qbs lap on every pass play. The RB coach should be fined for how bad the Rbs were in pass pro. Jacobs was horrid. Carr didn’t play well, but after watching the game film, the guy is lucky his season didn’t end on Sunday.
He looked like a Qb playing his first game in a new offense. As a coach you plan for that. Didn’t look like there was a plan for that unfortunately. However, to be fair, it is not easy when a defense can rush 4 and drop 7 and the 4 man rush is just as effective as an 8 man blitz with 7 dropped behind it.
McDaniels has his work cut out for him because he has a Qb that every time he gets hit he fumbles, and RBs who can’t pass block, and an Oline that can’t sustain a pocket.
Carr has his work cut out for him because he has a play caller and an Oline who didn’t make his job any easier. Mack and Bosa were allowed to pin their ears back and hunt. Every pass play Carr is throwing he has bodies all over him. That pass to Waller over the defender was incredible.
Love Carr! Love McDaniels! Raiders have a very good HC, Qb and skill players….like a shiny sports car, they look good on the outside….problem is the engine (oline) inside is just a 4 cylinder.
I sure hope I don’t have to watch film that bad for the rest of the season! If the Oline gets fixed, this team is a contender. Oline doesn’t get fixed, Stidham will be getting a lot of playing time for all the wrong reasons.
