Wentz had me on a roller coaster of emotions but in the end did the deed. We looking good
@ChillGuyDave you see Dave, it isn’t when he throws touchdowns that there is a problem – it is when he has huge gaffes with miss-reads and poor throws that there is a problem. He is hugely inconsistent. By the way, what can be said about totally screwing up a screen pass like he did in this game. That is the kind of easy pass that a guy with any experience really can’t afford to mess up. And not for nothing – this game was supposed to be a sure thing, and the “Commanders” struggled mightily defensively throughout. and their potent offence looked dead in the water for about an hour in the middle of the game. This looked like anything but a sure thing – and mostly thanks to the massive mistakes by Carson

Jacksonville didn’t play great but left 13-14 points on the field, they could of still won this game by having a poor performance. But I won’t say anything bad about Washington the WR core is dangerous!
It’s first game back, just wait and see once the season gets going again and he’ll be killing pro defenses. He’s not a bust. He just needs time to get ready to go. Unlike him Pat Mahomes and Josh Allen didn’t play for their first two seasons. They got tutelage under wise QBs that had been in for a long time.
Yep Washington capitalized on each opportunity with a few mistakes but Jacksonville blew multiple easy chances jax should have had at least 32 on the bored.

They using Curtis Samuel like Deebo. WR/RB. Gibson as RB/WR. Terry & Dotson as deep threat/slot. Offensive & defensive lineman did great. And that boy FORREST! this is the first time I’ve seen both offense and defense play good for dc. But I’m not too excited because let’s see how good we really are against stronger teams.

@sahhhbrahhh jags did a lot smart off season moves. Doug pederson good coach. He took the eagle to the playoffs 3 year straight and 1 Super Bowl trophy in his 5 season with them
That’s how they used Curtis Samuel on my Panthers and he became a fan favorite. He really flourishes as a gadget player

2017 almost-MVP Wentz would occasionally make bad throws – some over, some into traffic, INTs he wished he could have back, but then Wentz would come back hot, making huge throws & winning games. Week 1 done, & so far, this looks more like 2017 Carson Wentz than any other year after that season.

Even though the Jags lost, I think they showed major improvement and Travon showed why he was the #1 pick. Gotta work on protection for Trevor and his decision making, but other than that it wasn’t a bad game

Hopefully people can now see just how important Curtis Samuel is and how that majorly hurt Washington last season, dude is a beast.
He had a great game. Gibson was great, Dotson was great, McLaurin was great too everybody did their thing. Carson Wentz did great. The tight ends were steady. The offensive line held everything together combating & containing a very nasty Jags defensive front. They were strong & steady at pass protection and run blocking. The defensive line was savage. It was a team win. Next up. A stout, hungry Lions team.

You can say a lot about Wentz but there is no denying his arm talent.
As said on the Pat Mcafee Show many times. Hes a very talented thrower and great athlete. His highs are very high, but his lows are a lower low than his highs are high. Dude has heart and won’t give up on a play witch leads him to make terrible choices like trying to throw the ball with his non throwing hand when he’s already being tackled and 75% down to the ground.
Jay Cutler had a lot of physical talent too. Where did that get him? You can have all the talent in the world but if you can’t process what is going on and make good decisions it won’t matter. This is why Brady still succeeds. He has nowhere near the Arm strength of a Josh Allen or Mahomes anymore but his brain is impeccable.
That interception throw from 2 metres was magic. Lotta talent there.
wentz has insaine talent. I don’t think his talent was ever his problem. cuz the guy has it all.

Terry, Samuel and Dotson look like a great group of receivers. Probably the best that have been around since Garcon, Jackson and Crowder were playing together
It’s definitely the best receiving core Wentz has ever had in his career. Now he just needs to limit the mistakes.

Fun fact: This was Washington’s first game on 9/11 since 2011, where they handed the Giants their only loss on September 11 since the attacks. Like the Giants, Washington is now 3-1 in the 9/11 Series, having lost MNF in 2006 to the Vikings, won in 2005 against Chicago, and now today in 2022. All four games for WAS in the series have been at home.

I think this might be the most optimism I’ve had in my Jaguars in at least 4 years. The offense has actual potency and the d line looks aggressive. The o line and the secondary still need a lot of work. Tighten the screws and they’ll win some games. I’ve got faith that Doug get us back to the playoffs. Idk about this year but it’ll happen.
