I’d rather Kenny come in when he’s 100 percent ready than him get thrown to the wolves

    Kavin Suresh

@enigma amgine bs look at Josh Allen. He’s the example of someone who is a project QB. He developed into an MVP Candidate. Mahomes sat a year and won a super bowl later. Sitting down has its own benefits. You can study the playbook, teams and improve chemistry.

    enigma amgine

@Kavin Suresh don’t argue with me just nod and agree

    Get Some Money

Lol what makes him not ready yet? At any point you decide to play him he’ll be raw so why not play him now? No one has experience until we have experience play the rookie Mitch is mediocre

    Ricardo LDD

I disagree. He IS ready to play, he has to win but also has to lose and overcome adversity, that’s when we all gonna realize if he is the future franchise QB. It doesn’t help at all treat him like a kid who need protection.

    J And1

The better question is will The oline has to improve I believe kenny is 💯% ready to play now, With O Line the way it is I wouldn’t want him out there Just yet,Mitch is more prepared to start over kenny at the moment 💯

STRIKEFURY

Can’t wait to see Kenny we he’s able to get on the field

DRode 64

I think this is a good move. I have loved the way Pickett has been playing so far, but we saw how we performed against the Bengals last season and it would be a huge killer to his morale if the same thing happens. Nonetheless, excited to see Mitch redeem himself this season.

    eternal_napalm

You and Tomlin do live in your fears.

    Terry Dixon

    @eternal_napalm Exactly.

Alex. P

I’m sad I’m not gonna hear or see him play every week from now

    Get Some Money

We gotta trash Mediocre Mitch every chance we get. I’m tired of the first round losses

The Brobarian

I think they’d rather bring him out when that offensive line gets more solidified and mature

    Drockk Drocckk

    Exactly.

gilbogilbo79

Kenny gets it

Shane Matson

Love this kid wish him and the Steelers all the best

Mike Akey

I really like this guy. I also love Mitch’s demeanor. I’m so excited for a new chapter of Steelers football

eternal_napalm

I freaking love Kenny Pickett. I love his moxie and his work ethic.

I feel bad for him rotting away on the bench. Glad he is staying focused and positive.

    IWantToBeMonke

I never saw it as rotting away. We signed mitch for two years. It would almost be a waste if we juss benched him and put the rookie at the front. Plus Pickett can learn alot without any risk of injury, especially seeing how our O-line is kinda trash

    eternal_napalm

So your idea us to waste a 1st Round Pick on a backup QB and play a mediocre bridge QB until Kenny is almost 27? CRAZY.

Trubisky was signed as Pre-Draft insurance because as you well know, the Draft occurs after Free Agency begins.

    Justin

What’s crazy is some guy on the internet thinking he knows better than possibly the most storied franchise in NFL history.

Go lay down somewhere, guy. Pickett is right where he needs to be for a while.

ViciousViolette

I really, really like Pickett. He’s handling this all very maturely. I can’t wait till he’s ready to be QB1….until then, I’ll support Mitch.

    eternal_napalm

He is ready now. Bad move to keep him benched.

    disarray82

@eternal_napalm I agree, sitting on the bench with a tablet he isn’t learning anything about live games. Mitch was an insurance signing incase we couldn’t get a QB in the draft. At this point Kenny=Mitch. With them being equal Kenny should start because he is the future. I still support Mitch of course but I think Kenny showed enough to earn the start.

David Gomez

Just something to think about though I’m behind Mike Tomlin’s decision 100%. I just finished watching the Payton manning episode on the colin cowherd podcast and he goes into a bit in detail how there was no way they were 13-3 his 2nd year if it were not for his rookie 3-13 year where he lead the league in ints and he says how hi brother Eli learned alot more from the 6 games he started as uppose to the 10 games he sat in the bench… there’s nothing like on field experience and I hope we get a chance to see him 2-4 games this year

Dave Gregory

Everyone needs to check out Kurt Warners YouTube breakdown of KP. Coming from an all pro QB that knows what he is talking about. Kenny is not very good with his 2nd and 3rd check downs yet. That has to be learned. If he is thrown in behind this line he may never develop fully and will certainly pickup bad habits.

Donald Hull

Kenny will be fine. The whole team loves him which makes it so much easier for him. He’s just not on a team, he joined a family which makes a huge difference. We all look forward to seeing him on the field but until then let’s support Mitch. Have a great season guys.

no google plus

Class act…he’ll get his turn…especially with our current OLine 😬

Steelers Nation Australia

Here we go Kenny!!!

California Dreaming

I’m not really a Steelers fan although I’m a big fan of Kenny. I tend to actually root for players, not for teams. That’s what my brother told me before he died, but I think he was right. Anyways Kenny is so much further along than most rookies; it’s as if he’s a second-or-third-year QB really. I’m guessing he already knew a lot of these guys since he went to Pitt and that might’ve been important to him. But I watched Kenny’s pro day a couple times and I said, “This guy needs to be a Steeler to make up for them not drafting Marino 39 years ago.” There are real similarities in my mind between the two. But Kenny has a better arm and quicker release than people realize — I urge you to watch that pro day and the Miami game highlights are fun to watch too — and he’s really good at throwing on-time-and-on-target. I believe it was an out where Kenny got the ball to the receiver early enough so that receiver could make a move and score a TD. But he had a lot if throws this preseason that were top notch.

California Dreaming

There once was a quarterback named Kenny,
Who was surely worth a pretty penny.
He has an underrated arm,
Which will do defenses harm.
Games in the future he will surely win many.

Victory Asher

Kenny has a great command over the reporters. He doesn’t speak like the deer in headlights averaged rookie. His maturity in answering questions is impressive.

Ryan Yeager

I agree with the steelers organization on what they’re doing. I personally think Kenny packett is the future of the steelers but Mitch Turbisky does deserve a second chance to be the face of an NFL franchise. And I think hes our best chance of winning a week one against the Cincinnati Bengals which I hate to say I’m already considering a loss loss some teams throw their rookie quarterback into the meat grinder in their 1st year and they’ll go 3 and 13 let’s not do that with him. Let’s give Kenny peckett a chance to learn and develop and not destroy his confidence or his body. Cincinnati threw Joe burrow into the meat grinder in a year one of his career and in week 11 he suffers a season ending injury which is gonna probably end up shortening his career. What did he learn that made him a better quarterback the next season by doing that to him nothing he didn’t learn anything he doesn’t know already. So yeah I think Mitchell biskey should be the starting quarterback and if hes playing so well we don’t even bother putting in Kenny packet at all this season I consider that a good problem.

Szn

He’s going to be the guy for the next 3-7 plus years. This is purely for learning and development. Trubisky in 2 years or next can easily win a job in Seattle or Houston if they don’t draft a QB
