Better Shot at Being the Surprise Team in the NFC: Bears or Giants? – FANTASY FOOTBALL FAN SITE
RedMo46

The only surprise Id expect the Giants to muster is more losses than anticipated

    BEZ LLAMA

How can they get more then 17?

    NoCAP YouLACKN

thats cold bro why you got to do my team like that lol Who’s ya team bro let me know.

    Urbanomics

@BEZ LLAMA Giants will lose during their bye week.

    Charles Han

As a Giants fan… yeah no expectations

    Senor Pep

But I feel like they could get at least a bit better. Have at least some expectations. @Charles Han

MinePlay 512

The Bears. The QB will also have a breakout year.

    Johnny Chimpo

@Michael F. Bender you guys have arguably the best qb ever and you haven’t made it to the super bowl in a decade. Talk about a joke of an organization

    Michael F. Bender

@Johnny Chimpo the front office has made some mistakes, but the Bears haven’t had a solid starting QB since Jim McMahon or Jay Cutler.

    Johnny Chimpo

@Michael F. Bender I can’t disagree with you there…both teams have failed. Mitch was a decent qb, we will see what he’s got this year with the Steelers

I don’t know how you can talk crap about the bears now that they have Getsy. You must know how good he is and how much of a difference he can make with Fields. Combine that with an ex lineman who knows the importance of the trenches…they are 100% moving in the right direction. The packers on the other hand aren’t, they are worse than last year

    Michael F. Bender

@Johnny Chimpo we’ll see this upcoming season, won’t we?

    B Weinmann

@marceLLDa Raqian I don’t give 2 sh!ts about Chicago or the division. No dog in the race, just observing as a fan of the sport. Calling a spade a spade. Except the RB comment, I dunno why I said that. Rookie Gm and HC, rookies in the secondary, a terrible offense will directly exacerbate that, a statistically bottom 2 qb (not entirely his fault but the man stares down way too much). Can’t draft the way they do and expect success. Detroit is passing Chicago up, I’d be sounding the alarm.

joe fortino

The Bears are the charter franchise of the NFL and that holds the most weight

    Mark Roberts

The Giants were an original franchise – and Justin Fields has shown nothing.
Danny Dimes has won NFC Offensive Player of the Week multiple times.

    joe fortino

@Mark Roberts the giants will never be the bears. Charter franchise is the most powerful team in the NFL and the bears can shut down the league if they wanted

    kegawine k

@Mark Roberts The only two remaining charter organizations are the Bears and Cardinals. Not sure what ‘original’ means but none of this has anything to do with any semblance of a logical statement or argument from either you or the O.P. . As for Fields, he hasn’t shown anything because he’s only a sophomore crawling out from under the most dysfunctional coaching staff in recent memory. Danny ‘Dimes’ however has shown us all how to trip over the 30 yard line I guess.

    Nick

@kegawine k how many sbs the bears have

606Jo

The media is convincing all people who don’t know football that the bears O line isn’t good. Top ten in the league calling it now. Come back to this comment all year seeing is believing

    Chosen One

Yes, we might struggle in the beginning for sure but down the stretch they will become elite

    Poiny

When your QB scrambles out of the pocket 90% of the time isn’t because he sees an opening…he’s about to get sacked.

    Lowsky

@Poiny 90% u might be adding those PA plays bcuz he only had like 6 rushes this entire preseason.

    606Jo

@Niners_Worldwide you laughing at Trey Lance being your QB1? I would too

    Meatball Sports Talk

I’d just be happy if it’s average

Jaybills Games

This video is the first video I’ve seen about anyone talking/thinking logically about the Bears instead of writing them off over stupid stuff

    PlaneStrange

@Grant Rosenbaum lmao no shot it’s by far if at all

    Shiv Gandhi

@Grant Rosenbaum they may be the worst team but by far? How much do you think the lions actually improved?

    robert phillips

So much emphasis on the head coaches, but i think it’s about the team of coaches out together, how they are working together, how their scheme is built for the squad of players skills, and how much the players buy into that. All the right noise is coming from the bears camp on all those fronts so I’m excited. Media have zero expectations from them so they have nothing to lose.

    Houston Minshew

What “stupid stuff”? They have a rookie head coach, a 2nd year QB who struggled mightily his first year, or a roster with very little proven talent and a questionable O-Line? Pretty significant “stuff” if you ask around🤷‍♂️

    Louie Valenzuela III

Yeah because they spent that time writing off the Giants who always find ways to surprise. Whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing is up for discussion lol

Jermayne Harris

Justin Fields is our Chosen One! He will prove the world wrong this year! #GoBucks

    Ceno3000

    #gobucks 😒🤦🏿‍♂️🤨

    Choose Carefully

_If_ he does so, great. His team may want to win for _him._

But they don’t want to win for the current management.

    Mike Keane

It’s not only Justin Fields. The O line will be better and Offensive Coordinator/ play caller LG is the real deal! Game changer more then any player…

radee williams

As a giants fan as long as Daniel jones is our QB we will always be bottom level yes our oline is also poor but joe borrow led his team to the super bowl one game he was sacked 9 times and still won

    radee williams

@kingfulness What part of sacked 9 times in a game and still got the job done don’t you understand

    G L

Tannerhill basically gifted them that game.

    radee williams

@G L put Daniel jones on that team if he’s even sacked 4 times I bet they lose that game

    Jay Stacks

@kingfulness thankyou. The Giants have not been able to leave preseason healthy since the year after plaxico shot himself

    JayruuSamaa

Yeah Jones is a low tier QB

Dominic Bandola

Bears gonna surprise this season. No way they getting 3-4 wins. No way Bears went 6-11 last year and Get worse this year after getting a New Coach, Gm, Better coaching staff overall. Mooney just getting better. Pringle is underrated. Kmet gonna break out with this system. No more Nagy and Easier Schedule. Better DBs in Jaylon Johnson, Jackson, Brisker and Gordon. Hopefully Tavon Toung comes back healthy. Mack and Hicks were mainly gone last season due to injury. Bears will surprise people esp. On offense

    Louie Valenzuela III

Depends on the o line and wr’s. I have faith in Fields and Mooney but outside of those two everyone is a question mark. I also have faith in Eberflus so I’m hoping the Bears have a future, I’d say 5-6 games could be won but I won’t be surprised if they pick in the top 5 next year

    SAINT 65

So if da Bears are going to be better then last season, name the 7 or more wins in 2022.

    Meatball Sports Talk

@SAINT 65 Lions at least once, hopefully Vikings once, Commanders, Texans, Giants, Jets, Falcons

    Live Action

    @Mike Keane 6-11 at best!

    B Weinmann

@Dominic Bandola rookie HC, rookie GM. Mooney is the only good WR and will inevitably be double teamed, the rest is a hodgepodge wr room that is bottom 5. Pringle is gonna have to do something amazing because that’s all that’s going to be available. Starting a rookie cb and safety. I mean their draft was straight up not good, couple of reaches, lot of day 2 picks that are pretty much throwing darts at a board and hoping something lands. At the very least should’ve gotten a WR but nope. You did nothing to address a bottom 5 offense with a terrible line and a qb who was statistically bottom 3 in every category (not entirely his fault but the dude stares down receivers way too much). Which means the defense will be on the field more, not good for those rookies who will inevitably struggle to adjust. The mediocre drafts and lack of addressing positions of need are killing this team. They will be the odd team out in their own division as even Detroit has finally flipped the switch and will surpass Chicago. The floor is 3 wins, the ceiling is an incredibly optimistic 7 wins ONLY because their schedule is so soft compared to everyone else. I would bet the farm they start 3-3 and everything goes downhill after that, won’t have a winning record period. They’ll probably end up with the 5th-6th pick and miss out on the key player they need and the cycle continues. Future looks pretty grim for at least the next 2 years

Louie Valenzuela III

Can I be a contrarian and say both teams will surprise in different ways this season? The Giants will have a core to build around (Azeez, Kayvon, AT, Neal, maybe Toney and Robinson) and the Bears will have a QB to build around with Fields, Mooney, maybe Kmet and Vealus? Jones plus Roquan and even Eddie Jackson. Eberflus and Daboll are amongst the best HC hirings, I expect these two teams to be ready to compete with those guys running the show as well as the GMs Poles and Schoen

    AJ Kareem

    Only logical take

    IllCaesar

Giants have some sneaky talent as well. The rookie TE Bellinger was under a lot of radars but has all of the physical tools to be great. Micah McFadden should immediately step up to be one of the best MLB2s in the league, UDFA Tomon Fox is shocking people with his performance (he broke LT’s college sack record so it shouldn’t be so surprising), and I think Joshua Ezeudu will step up once he returns from injury and be a starting caliber LG by season’s end. I wouldn’t rule out UDFA Austin Allen being a breakout redzone threat.

    Reagan Ibeh

A more than solid core indeed!!! Very good…

    Louie Valenzuela III

@IllCaesar Yeah my issue with the Giants comes down to 2 things, injury and execution. I don’t think execution will be an issue with Daboll coaching but those injuries are really starting to pile up and Week 1 is still a week away

JD H

The bears will surprise plp for sure this year

CP2018

Bears easily. They have young talent that can be developed and the giants have just old dudes and Daniel jones

    Frank Frega

Do some research before commenting Giants have one of the youngest rosters in the league. Name all the ” old dudes” I’ll wait

    Jay Stacks

@Frank Frega people just say anything. When I read his post I knew he doesn’t know the Giants roster

    Antwan Campbell

Giants have one of the younger rosters in the league

    Glo GotHeat

@Antwan Campbell our oldest player on defense is literally Leonard Williams . Our whole secondary is like 23 at the max

Jeffrey Abbey

“Is it good to be weak at LB when you open vs the Tennessee Titans week 1”

Lmao

Oh Giants
How you have become so miserable!

Windy City011

Bears, I have high hopes for this season, this will be a great sophomore season for Fields!

GoodEatzzz Entertainment

I’m a die Hard Giants fan and the obvious answer is the Bears💯💯

    V8 & Jaylasell

    Appreciated

Bryan

Is this actually a question… the bears are miles ahead of the giants

Johnny Chimpo

If the bears don’t have crippling injuries, they are going to surprise a lot of people

DANTANA 773

If the Chicago Bears avoid Severe injuries they are going to surprise a few teams. #BearDown

Proud_Dad75

This season will be a showcase of what the future holds for Da Bears. This is what we have been waiting for to get back to NFC dominance
