Yeah back when it took 5 seconds for a play to develop and quarterbacks were stiff in the pocket. Nowadays you have Rodgers, Mahomes, Wilson etc. who can all escape to buy themselves time. Nobody in the 80s was doing that
@Brian Badonde Randall Cunningham was great at escaping the pocket. Just never focused on football 100% until he was much older.

He’s not exactly wrong in today’s NFL. if the QB gets the ball out fast all you need to do is just get in the way. You’ll need to do more for 7-9 step drops and the run game, though.

If the qb has to get the ball out fast af every down then theres no deep ball ever and routes cant even develop and theres no run game either

Eagles have two elite tackles. Lane Johnson is a beast and Jordan Mailata has only been playing football for a few years . Never played football until after he was drafted and last season graded out at ppf as the third best LT in the NFL. Lane only gave up a half sack and mailata gave up 3 sacks all season.. plus they dogs in the run game
