The way Turpin read the field and made a quick decision on those two returns seriously gave me Devin Hester vibes. If he makes the roster and they let him return, I feel like teams are gonna learn the hard way not to kick to him. Ya love to see it.

@Adam D I watched Hester his entire career. He was my favorite player and I have enormous respect for him as the greatest returner of all time, arguably. That said, I didn’t say this guy is Devin. I said he gave Hester vibes… All the returners I see every year didn’t have the instincts and decision making skills that look like this kid did. Pre-season or not, these guys out there are playing for their livelihoods. They know how to play their lanes. He’s not Hester….. But saying he gave vibes is hardly saying that.
Turpin, the USFL MVP from the New Jersey Generals, is making waves already. His performance this game is a statement that he belongs on the final roster.

Turpin is practice squad at best. Didn’t do nothing in the first game, had two returns against scrubs. Unimpressive.
@J. P. Preseason just got this man a roster spot. Yall clowns look at the scoreboard and say it means nothing. When Preseason is for evaluation players and see who’s making the team or not. And those 3rd stringers your talking about , most of them are making the chargers roster.
I think the Cowboys will keep Turpin because he has endeared himself to Cowboy fans. Cutting him would be a really stupid move by Dallas.
I know this is just preseason but Ive learned a lot about the Chargers. Ive learned if the starters get injured they have no chance in hell in winning. You can tell Chargers have all their money tied up in the first unit. The 2nd and 3rd sting look God awful! Also please tell me there were no starters on the special teams because Chargers had the worst special teams last season in the league. They better have made changes.

Absolutely not. I’d think long and hard before even wasting practice squad slot on him. He returned against scrubs. Doesn’t bring anything the team doesn’t already have. He’s auditioning for other teams, most likely.

That second returned TD by Turpin reminds me of DeSean Jackson when he returned that touchdown against the Giants, but DeSean return was more intense because of the outcome of the regular season game needing that win
Charger fan but still hyped for Turpin, it’s fun to see him go from the USFL to Dallas.
