It would have been nice to see Lock at QB1 tonight. Hope he’s back soon and can start the final preseason game. I don’t forsee us being very good this year. But our best route to being good this year would be with Lock under center. And if we’re not good with Lock (which more likely than not we wouldn’t be) then that’s fine. We’re willing to give this year away for the promise of getting an outstanding future franchise quarterback next year in the draft. I just really hope we beat Denver in week 1 and best SF both times we play. Really the Denver game matters most but I won’t be mad if we stomped out the 49ers. Lol. I love my Hawks and I’m trying to take this year lightly. I’m sure by the first game though I’ll be yelling, screaming, and cursing a storm when we’re playing like we did tonight.

    T D

@Dk Lockett I hope so, but it’ll need ore than Bellore’s experience. Our Special Teams is the worst I’ve ever seen in my 63 years of life. But then, I have a habit of getting overly excited – I said for years that we’ll lose Russ if we don’t fix the awful O-line. I may be a bit of a chicken little here.

    Sky High

    @Stephen Grahn
They will be successful this year?!
I want some of what you’re smoking.

    August Brante

Bronco4Life fan here. But also RW fan big time. So to me dream to get him. but if we didn’t get RW I was ready to roll with Lock. He is super good cannon of an are and great legs. i’m fairly sure if he would have started you would have seen hi showcase his talents! As far as first game of the year goes I would be happy if Hawks either make it close with Lock at QB or even if Lock wins there would be a part of me happy about that too! Russ isn’t playing at all and total new team for him brand new HC OC and pre season is meant to start gelling. But I am straying I guess my point is the broncos have missed the opportunity they needed so SHs can pull off the upset.

    $mizz

@Kevin Alas I would like to beat Denver because it’s a representation of my teams ability to move on from Russ. No hate towards Russ at all. I’ve been a HUGE fan from the moment he was in training camp as a rookie. And ultimately I wish him the best in Denver. Just not against Seattle. I’m not a fan of some of the gimmicks he was pulling last year before the season having his agent put out a list of 4 teams he would accept a trade to. Also he commanded over 25% of Seattle’s entire budget yet behind the scenes was complaining. Trust that if things don’t go flawlessly in Denver he’s going to do the same thing there. And since he commands the biggest contact in NFL history for a QB also trust that its going to cripple the teams ability to build around him. That’s why Tom Brady has so many rings. He was team friendly and encouraged the team to build around him while taking less money so he could compete for superbowls. These are just the facts. Hopefully that makes sense to you.

    $mizz

@August Brante appreciate your comment buddy. Russ is a stud. I’d be concerned about what he’s going to command next year for a contract and how that affects the ability of Denver to build a contender around him. But there’s no denying his ability on the field and will to win. He’s a first ballot future HOFer and I will reflect fondly on his years in Seattle.

Kenny Squance

I hope we don’t fall in love with this comeback talk it makes me sick. Being behind strains the defense and then injuries happen.

    BabyIgot CHOMONEY

Y’all scored in super garbage time the Seahawks gonna be horrible this year. 4 wins best

    Ok Boomer

    @BabyIgot CHOMONEY you fell off

The Hawks family

I LIKED this post conference, especially when he said there’s gonna be change at the special teams

Alan Armitige #LMH

Jacob Eason showed great poise in the pocket.
I hope he gets more reps with the wide outs.

    Justsom3k1d Bowling

He had so many overthrows though :/

    Alan Armitige #LMH

@Justsom3k1d Bowling True. But that’s why he needs more reps with the wide receivers.

    Capo King

He was horrible even with 3-4th string players.

Ara Piroozmandi

Let’s go drew lock!

Lucky12

The worse part is that they made Justin Fields look like an Elite QB, when he’s not.
They were a disaster tonight.

    Sam H

I’d say the worst part was they made Trevor Siemian look like an elite QB 😂

    Seahawks Nation

Seahawks always make trash QB look like elite QB like when McCoy & Daniel Jones beat us

Tanya Bailey

Easily one of the worst performances by a Seahawks team I’ve ever seen, in all three phases. The offense was sooo bad. The defense wasn’t much better and the tackling was absolutely dreadful. The special teams was even worse, absolutely embarrassing all the way around, especially on a nationally televised game. Do these guys even know how to WRAP UP and TACKLE? My god, it was like watching pee-wee football with all the missed tackles.

    DukeBigBelow

    It’s preseason dawg…

    Sky High

    @DukeBigBelow
Yeah guess what? It is preseason for the Bears too, and they owned the pathetic Seahawks!

    DukeBigBelow

@Sky High Show me the last team that won a championship in the preseason

    Cornelius Mackey

@DukeBigBelow You keep that same mindset lmao

    Michael Chadwick

You are spot on. All of these comments about it being preseason “dawg” don’t consider the lack of discipline, poor fundamentals, lack of depth, and horrid coaching exhibited last night. The commentator also called out coaching. In fact he essentially said “you have to ask yourself if it isn’t the coaching.” That was a ****show.”

Tuna Cat

We looked so bad I was just shaking my head laughing. We running the same offense! 3 and out!

    Charlotte Smith

Pete can’t adapt. He was good two decades ago and is trying to do the same thing

    A Fùcking Bird

It’s preseason they not gon call play dat teams can study for in da regular season

Tony Hollis

I feel like Pete is blind to Geno’s ability to lead the team and win. He’s making excuses for geno that the team needs to help him out more but I think its on Geno. He hasn’t lead our team to a win at all, even all the games he started last season.
The team looks like we have a better chance on winning with Lock or Eason out there.
I hope Drew lock could really separate his talent and prove he could be a QB1.

    Yessir

Geno won against the jaguars last season

Michael Chadwick

I’ve been a rabid fan since the Seahawk franchise year. I’m also a long time high school coach. What I saw last night was the absolute worse exhibition of football I have ever seen. A typical Carroll team. No discipline, poor execution, no charisma, lack of explosion, penalty ridden, and no rhythm. Truly pathetic. Jody Allen should have fired Carroll and Schneider, and brought in a fresh look. This ***t was bad, seriously bad. It isn’t about starters/new players. It is about preparation.

They also need to get over this competition at QB. Clearly Lock is fresher, and when he was in the field last week the team was better. Also, their OC needs to just play ball. All of these shifts, crazy formations, jet sweep BS, dump passes for loss….get over it! Get the ball down field or fricking run for God’s sake.

    Michael Chadwick

@Sky High I think the team will definitely improve, they can’t get any worse. Once Penny is in, starters are on the field, our offense will get better. But….what I saw last night was a team poorly prepared, no intensity, sloppy, and honestly an extension of what we’ve seen over the past three years or more. It’s a philosophical difference in coaching approach. Carroll has a liberal approach. He believes nobody knows better than the player when mistakes are made, and he let’s the player correct them. Contrast that with a Belichick approach…players are benched or released if they are not disciplined. It is a deeply different approach and style. In the years I spent as a high school head coach I incorporated a bit of both but leaned Belichick’s way.

We are in for a season of growth for sure. But…I stand by my thoughts on replacing Carroll. I would have replaced him after the SB loss to New England.

    Sky High

    @Michael Chadwick
I agree with most of your comment, but I totally disagree with what you said about when Penny comes in, the starters are back on the field, and their offense will get better.
Their offensive line is atrocious, and Penny is not that good to begin with, plus he’s highly injury prone since he’s been there. Not to mention, the QB position is looking horrific, plus their defense is abysmal, and can’t carry their offense.
Playing in the NFCW, the Seahawks are going to smacked in the mouth, and more than likely finish last in their division.
Nothing will change, nothing has changed in years. No new coaches on Pete’s staff are even really qualified to be in their positions, and they are just following Pete’s orders. Simply put, it’s going to be the same old tired scheme of PeteBall until he is gone.

    Michael Chadwick

@Sky High I agree with everything except the OL. Aside from the rookie mistakes in penalties by Cross, they are vastly improved. I totally agree about Penny. One can only hope he stays healthy. But if not, Homer, Dallas and Walker are capable. Also, other than the OL and Smith, there were no starters on the field. Defense also had only DL out as starters. I actually think we have the best backfield in the league, and Carroll has a dilemma on his hands as to who to keep. But, in general, I agree with everything you say. This has been the trend for the past five years and is why Wilson bailed. No improvement at all.

    Edubb

@Sky High bro..watch the fucken pressers.. coaches interview intelligently..players talk good about their position coaches! If iam living in a fantasy..you must be sky high!

    Mustard Tiger

@Sky High I think the defense is better than it gets credit for. Missing a lot of key players last night but still got quite a few stops, especially considering what little help they got from the offense and special teams

Chewable Orb

Realizing he was playing against nobody on the D I actually liked what I saw from Eason. Geno absolutely does nothing to impress me, he doesn’t make a ton of mistakes BUT I feel like he doesn’t make a ton of plays either. I wish Pete just gave the QB’s the green light to chuck it, high risk but also high reward. Eason just looks like he has alot of untapped potential where as Geno is as vanilla as they come. Plus at this point why not just go the young route and understand we are building for the future. Geno isn’t the future, run with Lock and Eason take your L’s and hopefully grow by the end of the season. It’s the first time I can remember where hardly anyone is impressing me, Bryant and Mafe are about it……rough season incoming….

    Mel

Abe Lucas & Tariq Woolen played okay too in terms of rooks

    Kenneth Rohen

If the Seahawks were to cut Geno, no team would pick him up. They would have to look at his drinking problem, a DUI that still needs to be resolved, which could still result in a league suspension. R.Wilson had (has) a plethora of personal problems, but he wasn’t a drunkard; rather, he did constantly train to be better, not passed out at the wheel.

BigAmigo

Well, through two preseason games the team looks absolutely awful. Yes it is only preseason and not that many starters playing many minutes but from an overall structure and discipline perspective it doesn’t look good. Neither does the QB situation, if Geno is struggling against second stringers it doesn’t really bode well.

Boney N

3-14 as I predicted. Let’s go ‘Hawks! Get us some top draft picks year

Cameron Robinson

Get’em coach, you know what to do!! 🎯 #Hawks4Life 💚💪🏾👊🏾💯💙

Cameron Robinson

It was good to see J. Eason out there! #Hawks4Life 💚💪🏾👊🏾💯💙

Peytonsmusic

I think Jacob Eason deserves more of a chance now. Yeah he had quite a few overthrows. I think that settled down the more he got the chance to actually call plays. I think he was just trying to show scouts just in case he got let go that he still does have an arm and he can throw deep passes. The ball was so overthrown on a couple deep balls that it felt more like it was on purpose. Was he a little inaccurate at times? Yeah. But his stats were definitely inflated by incompletions from a lot of dropped balls as well. Like he even said it’s been mainly geno vs lock. He probably hasn’t had many reps as QB unless it’s just so defense can go over their schemes. I think this game although wasn’t pretty in the slightest it shows that all 3 QBs should have chances to show what they are made of and that although this season will be really rough, it might be a chance to let the younger guy have more reps.

Cody

Geno looked absolutely terrible. If Pete can’t see Drew has the higher ceiling and more talent than we’re in for a long season.

Douglas Shartzer

After watching last nights game I’m going to recalibrate my win total to three.
Seahawks will spend the next 5 to 6 seasons looking for a semi-decent starting quarterback. Pete Carroll will be back to coaching in college,

    lateralus024

What? Lol Pete is almost 80 he will retire. Seahawks will not suck for 5 years. Grow up.

Boney N

Silver lining: Pete will be able to just replay this same speech after every game this season and hit the bar earlier

aye lmao

The Seahawks have fallen so extremely far from who they used to be. It just feels like all spirit of being a Seahawks fan is gone. Every game I watch them play is just pure agony,.
