The Vikings defense is a work in progress but I like what I see. And that offense looks even better with KOC and his play calling. I like the new Minnesota Vikings.

    HighlightRoad

Yep, people overlooking the secret gem.. our new coach.. our offense is now like the other elite offenses with the pass, pass, pass , run when the pass is torching them so they don’t expect it, deep play action passes too not a lot of dump offs, when it’s Kirk throwing those we’re gonna be a threat.

    Raphael

@HighlightRoad im hoping for the best, but if things go bad, I’m hoping to circle back to everybody that had something to say about running the ball and playing good defense. If the vikings make the playoffs I’ll shut up and admit I was wrong. However, I don’t think throwing the ball 40 times is going to get us there. How are play actions supposed to work if we only run 15 times a game with a top 5 back? That’s crazy. The defense was terrible, not a work in progress, terrible. Zimmer got a lot of hate and never the credit he deserved. It was time to move on, but man, he did a great job most of the time he was here.

    HighlightRoad

@Raphael Bro life is trial and error, we have tried the running 80% of the game and it never worked in our favor, every team that wins throws the ball 70% of the time, Tennessee is the only exception and they still don’t go too far.. zimmer was a good defensive coach, that’s about it. Offensively he destroyed us, running the ball 1st and 2nd down then pass 3rd, so predictable the defense always knew what we were doing, play action will always work because it’s nearly impossible to stop the pass like you can stop the run, a CB can’t contain a WR every play, but an entire defensive line and secondary can make a wall and stop a run easily.. the proof is in the pudding just look at the teams that win.. they all have elite QB play, not one had elite RB play, we had one of the best RB to ever live in AP and we still didn’t win that year, times have changed, it’s 2022, runs are easier to scheme against and stop even when you don’t expect them then passes, but when the defense has been getting torched by passing all game, they are gonna start running backwards giving the running back a few more seconds to run forward when they get the ball, play action keeps them on their heels, even if you only throw the ball, they still have to think of the run with play action

Kellen mond just needs time being able to understand, and ketch up with nfl speed. I think this first game is a huge step for him and a confidence builder. Don’t underestimate a good first performance.

    R I

@ shaun spratley – you beat me to it 😂

    hammerpocket

@Greggo Hakes Underestimate is, in fact, a word.

    utewbd

@Greggo Hakes Underestimate is one word, mind your glass house.

Greggo Hakes

Kellen Mond out shines Mannion with ease.

Chieftain

Ed Ingram was killing it too. How about that center Austin Schlottmann? He looked good too.

    Rob E

Ingram really pushing for RG week 1. I was expecting him to grab the job sometime mid-season, but week 1 is even better. Great having a player like Reed on the bench.

Skolney

Kellen Mond clearly has talent that can be developed. Mannion offers nothing.

    Turtle553

Mannion offers QB coaching. But with this new regime, it isn’t necessary anymore. I feel bad but it’s time for him to go 🙁

    R I

Yes, it’s BEEN time for him to go and NO, I don’t feel bad for him 😜

    Povizle

Mansion offers a 3rd string spot. What out of the other 31 only has 2. Please don’t be the 1 that’s negative. Happy Monday. Turn ALL negative Good morning.

    Raphael

@Turtle553 Mannion is trash, he should’ve never been bright back. It’s like a slap in fans face. Ihe has to be bottom 5 back up QBs in the league.

MnJaLo

The throw to the back corner of the end zone was good, the corner had a lot of contact with Bisi at the second cut and slowed him down.

Florence Dahl

Improvements needed to get better before the regular season starts Skol Vikings

Douglas hurd

Chandler unhinged like a McKinnon type runner .

Nerds on Earth

Leber and Gabe do a nice job.

Jimmy

Ty Chandler is a lock 🔒🔒 or he will have us feeling some type of way as he gets picked up elsewhere.. 💯💯

blackjackcz

Kene and Chandler looked amazing. Not sure where that will leave Mattison.

    Quest4Adventure

    Hopefully traded

Rob E

The question is can Mattison do enough to stay on the roster?

    Wolf Wang

He’s a beast. Him and Cook might be the best 1,2 in the league.

Robert Centofanti

From my vantage point, NEITHER QB was impressive. But in particular, Mannion looks UN-PLAYABLE, TOTALLY UNDESERVING of a Roster Spot, but we should’ve already known that YEARS AGO…. It’s CONFOUNDING that this team continues to keep Mannion. Nothing I saw today inspired. Offense was meh……. Defense was a mess. A LOT to worry about on that D….. Mond was OK, but Preseason games are not a useful tool for assessing Back-Up QB’s, because they’re not facing a Prepared First String Defense…..Its very Vanilla, and simplified….. PRACTICE is what you judge your QB2 on, and Mond has been NOT good in practice, in fact I hear he’s BEYOND not ready….. I surely hope I’m wrong, but I rarely am……

    Rick Long

I had the exact same feelings….green bay looked good… once confident…now worried 😟

Tommy Litz

Mond looked much better in the 2nd half, when going against the 3’s

Michael Ehlert

Mannion looked terrible to me. We need a true number 2 QB.

Wolf Wang

Kellen took a step but it’s ONE game yall. What if he throws 2 picks next week? Just slow the hype train

AUSSIE VIKE

Your Kidding Leber It wasn’t Even Close Mond by A Mile💜💛

Nathan Hagen

Mond is legit. How dumb was Zimmer to not have him ready for that late season game against the pack

mumin hill

Man I love how defense was omg the beast getting to QB like seriously but the DBs need som work , but The O line was pretty good they need put Kyle Hinton has center soon possible like omg he is a bull 💯 🏈

iDieHard420 Hard

I don’t want any key starters to touch the preseason field just like today. Those extra live reps don’t make an impact like a key player going down
