Lions are going to the Super Bowl

With what superstars? The reality is they can play hard for their coach, but when it comes down to it, you need super stars. They need a year or two more to contend. And Dan and co. know that.

Starters vs starters, lions looked much more smooth.

    Montarctica

We definitely need some LBs and CBs

Goff knew that Boyle would throw an interception first drive and couldn’t do the city like that or his teammates

Mr. Pool

Blough did waaaaaaayyyyyyy better than Boyle. Boyle is still the same dude from last year. Blough may have lost the game with his fumble, but damn did he put some plays together. Moved the ball on the ground and in the air. Boyle made some throws, but he’s way too inconsistent. Fumble that he recovered, and a pick. Blough is the clear 2nd.

He looked like an 8 bit character running through his stance changes as he did reads… that made me chuckle a bit.

Wish Tim would shut up and let PJ talk. Tim has a bad habit of leading everyone when he interviews people and cutting people off when they talk. Including his co-hosts.

Lions lost in the same manner that they always do, a miracle fumble and hail mary. Atlanta is a bottom five team in the league, so that is even more concerning, especially on the defensive side of the ball. If they can make a trade such as for Smith and get some talent there they need to do that. The back 7 on defense is one of the worst in the league and needs major infusion of talent. I see 4 or 5 wins.

It was a preseason my guy, relax.

    dj

Lmao you feel smart breaking down preseason game and saying 4 or 5 wins based on a game where the starters played 1 drive shut up

do you not realize that backups and third-stringers were the ones who were out there for the majority of the game? lions looked decent out there when their starters were out there. defense looked a little shaky but i have faith in aaron glenn. one preseason game that the starters barely played in is hardly an indicator of how the season will go.

preseason wins are fun for the fans, i get it. but preseason is about evaluating players and forming the final roster. the coaching staff is more interested in seeing how these guys fair in a NFL game environment than they are about winning

Falcons cheated Lions should have won it I’m tick off about this game

    Dayz4Dre

Dont get mad cuz yall didnt win

Tim Walsh

Maybe the lions could spend $15 and buy a ring light. Soccer mom’s on tictok have better lighting on their video

Kerby joseph stood out the most to me, 4 tackles, 1 assist, and he almost had a pick. 7th round pick doing some work. Not to mention the passing offence was held to less than 50% completion.

I liked:

1, SEEING DESHOWN ELLIOTTTTTTT!!!!!! HIT some MOTHER …. lovers….. its preseason.
2, Seeing Okudah play and wrap a guy up. He did a good job of limiting the advance of the ball carrier.
3, Cohesive play on the first drive from the 1st string offence. AND NO PENALTIES ON THE FIRST STRING OFFENCE!
4, Seeing Rodrigo hit people.
5, The just, solid form tackling. Wrapping guys up. Doing things the fundamentally sound way.
6, Barns Stepping up through the line to make a TFL
7, Hutch.
8, How Chase Lucas got over his drop and made a great tackle the very next play. If he continues to show that kind of resiliency I think he’ll be here for a while, with more and more snaps. Being able to move on quickly like that and just, “get back to work” is just such a great sign from players of any age, let alone a rookie. Two thumbs up to him.

I disliked:

1, Any Extra point kick: It’s preseason, these are the only games where the score doesn’t matter. Kicking is pretty, “you do your job right and you’ve got the points” so im not sure if using the limited live game time of the preseason to practice kicking is the best use of that time. In the preseason every extra point attempt is a waisted chance at practicing scoring in the red zone against another team. Sometimes that, “score or lose” practice is really necessary and i don’t think kicking field goals or pat’s is really that important in the preseason unless you really are trying to determine your starting kicker. Even then i value the practice of scoring TD’s over FG’s

2, I really disliked seeing Amon Ra get hit in the shoulder. Also not a fan of Swift pushing for the corner of the endzone. We know they can put in the effort. We don’t need them to prove themselves. Please just don’t get hurt.

3, Watching us get sliced and diced up the middle, and failing to contain the qb over and over. The hole in the center of our defense is going to need to be addressed in the coming weeks. I think the linebackers on our roster right now can get the job done, but it’s going to be an uphill battle because they aren’t there yet and developing that fast in that short an amount of time is no small feat. I still think Barnes and Rodrigo can be core of the defense in the future, but both are going to have to make developmental strides soon if they want to get to that level this year.

Charlie

If the Lions need practice containing a running QB, why don’t they find such a player and have him on the practice squad or only on this expanded roster before the season?
