@Amen Brother He [ HAD ] way more then 1.5 seconds to throw last year ! Look it [ UP }? BUT, when I [ SEE ] the play called is a swing pass , it has [ NOTHING ] to do with time to throw the ball OR how fast your WR are , does it !

@Zapp Brannigan83 Yes, you are correct in MOST of your points ? BUT, how many of those yards, TDS were for the fact we, were behind in the 4rth QRT ? [5 ] GW drives & only 1 of those was with a FG , I think ? [16 ] 4rth down throws & [ 2 ]more was on a running play by Herbert . ALL of those facts [ ALSO } adding up to a better offense stats , not to say his OL was NOT ranked dead last like his rookie year .

@Robert D. The 1.5 s wasn’t meant to be scientifically accurate, any more than to say Herbert played “THE” Raiders game without a RT, but it sure looked that way. All that said I’m looking for them to win it all this year, finally!

@SouthernBrick That’s about right. Nit pick that we can eat an RT injury, starter and replacements about the same.

I was a big fan of Feiler at RT, but after rewatching Raiders game, man, South, Quinton Jefferson ate his lunch that game. Beat him badly, repeatedly. If it weren’t for the near-continuous jailbreak over our right side that would have garnered more attention.

@Randall Turner I’m not saying they can eat a RT injury and be fine. Tackle is the most important spot and one game isn’t a big enough sample size a whole season Matt would be the best option until Trey and Norton prove themselves even if its average or just above average. Norton gave up almost the most pressures in the league at RT. Need at least a average starter RT.

@SouthernBrick they’re all about the same, though. Not much drop-off. Which is sort of why we’re not sure who’ll end up there.

Feiler, I’m taking them at their word saying they’re not planning to move him. We’ll see. Maybe Salyer turns out to be okay. Not confident of Pip.

@Randall Turner they will find out for sure in training camp. Bosa and Mack are gonna give them all they can handle.

Spiller and/or Horvath will help in that regard, having those 2 will help open up the ground game, giving us more options in 3rd and 4th downs without completely relying on the pass on those downs. This will also allow Ekeler to line up as a receiver more

And with that said, they were 6 of 7 on 4th down in the Raiders game.

@SD Fishin We shouldn’t be going for it if we’ve got more than three yards to go. Not unless we’re forced to.. which of course happened all the time! lol But we were just *superb* in those situations. It’s the short yardage fourth downs we need to improve on.

@SD Fishin ?? we’re talking about fourth downs in this thread. When I said, “it’s the short yardage fourth downs..”, I mean versus longer fourth downs, not general offense.

Bosa, will have a huge year, with two tough edge rushers that require attention.

One nice thing – we’ll inevitably have injuries. But both our “mature” edge guys will be full speed for the season opener. Keep Carr from getting lonely back there. 🙂

@SD Fishin while I agree about the play calls, the defense was still the reason for most of the losses. Look at the cleveland game. 47-42. IF the dwefense can limit the score, the offense doesn’t have to score a ton of points to win. And, the offense lead the league in dropped passes last year. I remember the air Coryell years. Chargers scored a lot of points but couldnt stop the other team from scoring. They lost a lot of high scoring games. They were exditing, but often times disappointing. I’d rather win 27-24 than lose 37-34.

@Robert D. lmao yea there was some questionable play calls last year especially in the red zone. The one series I can’t forget was that series against the chiefs where parham got hurt. He passed it 4 straight times inside the 10😡 that can’t happen! not only did we turn it over on downs but he got a player hurt. Just thinking about it still pisses me off!

I really want to see that happen
