It’s a heavyweight division! The Chiefs had as good of a draft as any and have the best coach in the division so in my view they are still the team to beat in the division until proven otherwise.

We should have been in the playoffs last year. Two things, one is the drops by the receivers and tight ends and two the play of the defensive line against the run. Those two were Our downfall. Although playing in winter time in Buffalo for the first playoff game of Justin’s career was probably a loss.

Justin is from Oregon. He’s used to playing in snow. Buffalo’s rushing attack is Josh so the Chargers wouldn’t have gotten run over. They had a helluva chance against the Bills.

@Taylor Quiroz – The little guy from the Texans is a better, more stout runner than anybody the Bills had accept Josh. Remember, lots of players were out against the Texans. The Chargers had a helluva shot against the Bills and Chiefs and Bengals.

I disagree with Matt on his “successful” season take. The wins are far more important than what he said. Expectations are set and a first round exit in the playoffs would be a failed season IMO.
He was saying that we need to finish as a top 10 defense and have people comfortable and buy into the system. He does mean playoffs. He’s just saying it doesn’t matter if we sneak in at 10-7 with 4 very close losses to quality teams or if we go 14-3. What matters is that everyone gets better overall and the culture and identity continue to evolve in a positive way especially on D and that offense stays on par but with Herbert taking yet another step.
Think Mahomes first year starting… they didn’t win the super bowl but you could tell they were going to win one and soon based on the identity and culture of the team and growth seen. That’s what he means. If we do grow as a team like he said, the playoffs are implied

This Defensive unit has a chance of being one of the best D units ever. Fans outside Chargers fanbase will tune in Charger games just to watch Defense over others. I still believe Chargers will have 6 nationally televised games of end of season game changes by TV networks. The big time names on D mirrors the vibe of 85 Bears if they get the plays and stats. Team is most intriguing team in NFL to watch every chance on TV from every NFL fans due to big time names on both sides of team of Offense and Defense. .
And that’s just the defense…
Don’t forget we have a generational talent in Justin Herbert on offense.
He like Dan Marino but will have more SB appearances
This implies that they are fighting for a playoff spot to get that week 18 flex.
I could see a week 16 flex instead though or maybe still week 18 in prime time to see if they can lock up the 1 seed and I’d the Broncos can get the 6 or 7 seed
But frankly with the talent on D, I hope after they gel by week 6 we just win all but a game or 2 and play backups week 18 and still beat Denver as our team is so damn deep
I think van noy has an opportunity to start at the DE spot that tillery currently holds. Van noys versatility will allow him to play there during obvious pass situations since he will most likely get a one on one with the presence of bosa and mack.
Parham will hopefully have an opportunity to light it this season.

I gotta say I believe parham has the potential to be one of the most dangerous weapons in the NFL. Being almost 6’9 and having those Bambi-like jukes as always falling forward for 4-5 yards is an incredible weapon.
Everett as well could be what he was for Goff. A intermediate inside threat that gets you 15 yards per catch and can take off after getting his hands on the ball. Spiller is going to be our next RB1 in about 2 years as ekeler hits 30 and this kid is poised to be a bigger prime leveon bell with the smooth shiftiness of an Arian foster. Woods is going to be all pro or an all out bust, and after pipkins loses in training camp to storm who gets burnt one too many times by week 5, Salyer or pipkins will start at RT which is the final piece of the puzzle. Pipkins is a decent player. He just doesn’t win camp battles and was a project but one that is nearing completion in a good way.

Dolphins anime did have something in it. If you pay attention to the glove Herbert has on riding the dolphin the glove on his left hand raised has the Tyreek Hill deuces sign on it the exact same glove Hill wears in games.

@Eduardo DeColosio It wasnt a burn against the Chiefs I dont think but the Miami one may of been against the chiefs with Herbert having the Tyreek dueces glove on kinda like haha deuces you dont have the animal on your roster anymore kinda deal. May be reaching at that point.
