Hopefully he will be the QB of the future — All QB’s look good when Aaron Donald is not bearing down on them. As a fan of the Falcons since 1974 I figure I will continue to bide my time until we see him in a game under duress. That’s when you want to be in the stadium with some binoculars to cue in on him and the coverages.

@John Matthews — IIRC General Bob Lee was the QB and Norm Van Brocklin was the coach in 74. Dave Hampton I believe gained 1000 yards the year before and got tackled behind the line and finished with like 995.

@Marcus Camp sorry I have been keeping up with the post practice interviews. His teammates say he’s the first one in and last one to leave. He’s already learned the playbook he received and is helping his teammates catch up. I would call that a hard worker, wouldn’t you?
@Nickg2k1 that does sound promising. But your original post made no reference to this. That’s why I could not understand how you came to such a conclusion based off a couple video clips.
Our offensive line is still trash, and we won’t be able to see anything good from him or Mariota until we sure up the O line.

I know it’s just practice but he’s showing a really nice spin on the ball, of course game situation remains to be seen but it’s def promising to say the least he LOOKS poised
Ill second that oppinion he looks like a good player overall he could take the falcons places.
I can see Ridder being the starter…”When he’s earned it, not given.” It’s the only way to gain the team’s respect.
I think I’m actually excited for next season. Worst case scenario…we are absolute garbage and get the first or second pick of the 2023 NFL draft and draft some more defense and a definite wide receiver core. A better o-line would be nice too.

I been riding with the Falcons since 88 and the same thing is said every year. We need a strong offensive line and defensive line. I just truly hope this year could be the year. I believe in Ridder and we have Marcus. We also have good young players who are still developing. We really need to add some vets on one or two year deals and we could definitely make a playoff spot this year. Remember, I know we don’t have the cap space but just add the best veteran competitors at there positions because the younger players will play the majority of the games.

This is a very nice pick for the Falcons…..I think it is fair to say that a lot of fans are not expecting much from this franchise this upcoming season. It’s one of those picks that I think has tremendous upside/low risk and worse come worse if it doesn’t work out he can be a back up next year. Everyone were giving this QB class in 2022 such a hard time because there wasn’t much to offer talent wise, but you always have next year’s draft class if this one does not work out.
I really love his confidence and how tight his throws are. Plus he put Cincinnati on the map.. I’m excited to have him.. real Falcon’s Fan!
I have lived my entire 43 years in Cincinnati Ohio and have been a Falcons for all of those years! From my first game in Fulton County in 1981 to my last in the Georgia Dome in 2016. NEVER have I been more excited to see where the Birds can go! Having Ridder be the QB of the future helping to link my hometown to my favorite team is REALLY cool! The October 23rd game here is going to be a blast!!
