Safeties are usually bigger, stronger, slower cornerbacks. Cam Lewis & McCloud might be the fastest, but you need top tier ball skills & instincts to be a starter.
A lot more needed than just speed, instincts are important, Hyde & Poyer aren’t super fast but have elite intelligence & instincts, knowing where to be & when is more important than just being fast
Same reason John Ross wasn’t a great WR, or Matt Breida wasn’t a great RB. FWIW Nick McCloud getting reps at safety is pretty damn interesting. I’m also pretty surprised that Neal said Taron Johnson is faster than Nick McCloud. Dunno if I believe that.

@Saltycracker102 ik lmfao it was hilarious. Me and my friends had end zone seats and we were a few rows up and i domed Neal on the muffed punt safety. You can actually kind of see the snowball and Neal’s reaction is hilarious

I would enjoy seeing Mr. Neal take on Kelce both man and zone next time the 2 teams play. (Personally think that’s how it should have possibly gone last post season!) Also would love to see him play slot corner/cover 2 LB against teams like the Titans. MORE often!
