I read in a book somewhere that Harvard has a philosophy that they want to let in people who are more diverse but they want those kids to have something different too support their self-worth because it’s more effective than other ivy League schools for creating diversity… Don’t accept students just to fill a quota, fill that quota with students who have all kinds of worth not just traditional academic worth and supposedly they have much higher rates of graduation for the lower academic percentiles and other ivy League schools
