Need to finish games this year
We said zero excuses last season, and then by the end of the year it was: Zimmer is a cancer, the GM is pointing fingers, Cousins is being held back by a bad offense line and questionable play calling, and the defense canāt stay healthy. Excuse. Excuse. Excuse.
Now weāre going into another season with 80% of the same starting roster, Kirk is still the QB, KOC will be another first time playcaller, none of the major roster deficiencies have been addressed, and theyāll once again be relying on rookies and aging veterans who struggle to stay healthy.
Personally, i think this is going to be another 8-10 win season, and early exit from the playoffs. If thereās one thing that we can hopefully take away from 2022, itās ownership finally realizing Kirk isnāt the guy and be willing to move on from him. Until then, this team isnāt going anywhere but another mid-teens draft pick and farther into cap purgatory.

Most definitely would have been nice but we honestly got two vets at linebacker Hicks and Kendricks about to fly to the ball. They each gone play one side and really ball out. some elite tacklers as well.

There’s still an elephant in the room. It’s STILL the offensive line, particularly the interior. Kirk Cousins is a great quarterback, but if he’s not given time, he won’t be that great. And don’t single Cousins out and consider that a deficiency for him. There isn’t a quarterback in the league who can be effective when pressured constantly. Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Troy Aikman all did terribly when the opposition was able to pressure them. They always had great pass protection, which is why they won Super Bowls. Even Russell Wilson and Pat Mahomes lose when they are pressured. Why people say, “Oh, Cousins has to have everything right around him in order for him to perform well,” well BIG DEAL. The same goes for ALL quarterbacks, even the greatest. That’s why all of the disrespect shown to Cousins is ridiculous. Cousins is always getting clobbered practically every time he throws and no one gives him credit for being incredibly injury-free. The guy is an IRON-MAN! On the o-line, the only guy that’s any good is O’Neill. Darrisaw is marginal, Cleveland is a disappointment, Davis is a disappointment, and Bradbury, he’s just a joke, he’s terrible at pass protection. And with all of the free agency deals that have been done since last year, plus the draft, Mensah has STILL not made a serious move at quality center. I can’t take much more of this insanity!
We really shouldnāt have no excuses on defense. Like none no more. Our offense should just take up a notch since we got a real offensive minded coach as HC. Offense was already good. Just need improvement on the o line still. Iām excited to see this team. The players got what they asked for so now itās in their hands. This team is surrounded by vets and leadership for our young players to elevate their game.
