Welcome Akayleb,Glad to have you here in Purple Man, SKÖL

D Lindstrom

He seems like a Great young man. I hope he competes well and finds a role. Make Boyd earn a spot rather than just being the class clown.

    Logan Wernimont

You’d be surprised how much a “class clown” in the locker room does for a team… also Boyd isn’t a starter but he’s a good rotational piece and special teamer

    Rob E

@Logan Wernimont I agree re Boyd’s popularity in the locker room, but he is dumb on the field and I think will be an early casualty of newly added depth at CB. Boyd would be lucky to be CB 8 right now – Dantzler, P2, Akayleb, Booth, Hairston, Sullivan, Hand – Boyd.

    D Lindstrom

@Logan Wernimont really. What has done on our 29th ranked defense. ?

    George Jefferson

Just put Boyd on practice squad

Steve Barrett

I love the 2022 draft class as far as the character of the selections! ….and they look like they can ball a little too!

Joseph Wyzinski

I’ve never rooted for a kid more. I need him to be a starter asap so we can roll out the “For Benji” shirts and merch in the Vikings shop! SKOL BENJI!

Marty Sheets

Welcome Young Man, Good luck.

The Californian Refugee

One things I’ve noticed from every player, men of faith. Even the ones that’ve made mistakes in their lives take responsibility for them and know that it’s by grace they’ve come out

    Daddy McKrangle

It’s not by grace, it’s by determination. To say that it was god that allowed them the opportunity takes away from the effort the person put into it.

iweezy baby

tatum everett is a damn beast wont be long until she moves on like jenny taft

judith lambertson

Great guy, great interview, and great hair Tatum.

Clinton Reisig

Welcome to Minnesota 💜

Tim 4cn

WELCOME 🙏… to the MINNESOTA VIKINGS MR.EVANS.. YOU ARE GOING TO BE GREAT

Rob E

Yet, another intelligent well spoken young guy, and a quality interview from Tatum, who like Gabe, asks a good mix of people and football questions then butts out. After watching Akayleb at the Senior Bowl, I think he is very underrated and could easily beat Booth to the field. Booth could end up playing slot CB in 2023 with Akayleb and Cam on the outside.
That CB room is looking great all of a sudden.

    Jim Mski

Don’t think that Booth is a slot guy, but I think that Cam Bynum might be able to play slot.

    Cedric Doumassy

@Jim Mski , Cam Bynum would probably play some slots and Safety. He is versatile

    Rob E

@Jim Mski Except we need Bynum at Safety unless you’re happy with Metellus as next man up?
That’s why I don’t think there is a path to the field for Booth or Akayleb this season, other than injury, or a massive form decline for P2.
Kwesi has warned us for months, that this draft is for the future. He noted that again in his pre-draft presser. I’d suggest Booth and Evans have been drafted with an eye to starting 2023, after we let P2 go.

    Jim Mski

@Rob E Bynum can “walk and chew gum at the same time.” He can play some slot CB and still be the backup at safety.

    Jim Mski

@Rob E I agree, our defensive backs are markedly better following the draft. We could have 3 starters on our hands. Which of course would be huge. Hope they can all stay healthy.

Timothy Clendenen

Very all together young man… Congratulations and welcome to the Vikings

NamelessViking

If this new coaching staff teaches him correctly he can definitely be a cb1 or a shutdown corner. He has the speed and size. Everything you can’t teach he has. It’s just he needs to clean up his game and he should be really good. Sneaky good pick

Jim Mski

Great interview, seems like a quality young man. Wish him all the best.

Alex Heitlinger

Starting a foundation to help others at 17? Is Walter Payton Man of the Year in his future?

Nicholas Paz

Vikings always find a way to get some really great people; Regardless of their football talents. This kid’s a badass!

George Jefferson

This draft class looks really promising

Tba Soon

His smile…. His show of a bit of personality…: get ready!!!

Tba Soon

Loved that he started his foundation and giving in high school. His charisma, confidence just oozes off of him. Can’t wait to see him in the slot with P.P, Lewis, H.S, C.B., Zadarius, Daniele in the front yoooooo all the missing pieces

D W

Huge benefit to go along with his physical tools in his attitude….bring the fight to the offense, instead of just reacting. Our back end, save for Hitman, has been missing that for a few years.
