Seattle has been my 2nd team for many years (from Seattle). It’s still SUPER weird seeing him in orange. The thing that a few people have touched on is the energy boost all of the other teammates get naturally when you have a QB like Russel or when we got Peyton is 2012.
@Michael Burke I think the robotic comments were aimed at his “honesty.” It all sounds good, and certain people will drink the Kool-Aid. It certainly has helped build his brand. That’s about all I can say about his presentation.
@Tony Turntable I know what you’re referring to… certain cynical sports writers and commentators just couldn’t or wouldn’t believe that Russ’s upbeat, optimistic style is genuine. They’ve been dealing with the sullen, angry, resentful and suspicious black athletes for so long that Russ was seen as Pollyanna..For me he is a breath of fresh air. Contrast his response after a tough Superbowl loss to that of Cam Newton and you’ll see exactly what I mean. When Russ came into the league all the attention was on RG 3, who is the very antithesis of Russel Wilson. Where is he now?
