A .500 team would mean we had a great year tbh. To have a .500 team without spending anything in free agency and without a first round pick….yeah, that would be a hell of a year.

Here’s an interesting point that was made on Hoge&Jahn. The Chief’s have had good success drafting OLine late rounds.
1. Trey Smith in 2021, started 16 games a rookie drafted in the 6th rd pick
2. Nick Allegretti 7th rd pick in 2019, started the last 9 games in his 2nd year. Played 7 games as a rookie on the SB team
3. 2014 Zach Fulton started every game as rookie & Lauren Devarne started 13 games as a rookie in the 6th rd.
They did not miss on a late rd OLineman for a better part of a decade.
Sad depressed fans will have the narrative that Poles didn’t make those picks. But Poles was there since 2009, continued to get promoted through 3 GMs regimes. He might’ve not been the GM but he definitely had some input. They wouldn’t have kept him around if he didn’t provide value. I like his chances on this draft that one of those 4 drafted become a starter. I like the chance that 2 contribute quality snaps.

Good points. Trey Smith was a huge risk, he is a first round talent but his blood clot issues scared a lot of teams.
