Nick Sirianni Shares His Thoughts on Eagles Rookie Camp | Philadelphia Eagles Press Conference – FANTASY FOOTBALL FAN SITE
My angst has a body count

Eagles fans, I know we have become a little impatient since winning the Big One for another Title, but for the love of all that is Holy please give Jalen Hurts some time. In reality he is 1 season and four weeks into his NFL career as a starting QB. For some context, Josh Allen had a 58% accuracy rate in his first two seasons and Lamar Jackson has a career 66% accuracy rate.

Where Jalen has to improve is his consistency and his anticipation. He has had amazing games throwing the balls he has actually set records as a rookie, Reuben Frank wrote a good piece in March about the very topic.

Please stop the horrible, terrible no good at all take that Jalen Hurts has a “noodle arm”. At best this is outright false and at worst it’s disrespectful to a champion weight lifter. Let him show us a little more before we toss the baby out with the bath water.

    Bryan Harris

Agreed. It’s frustrating to see the dichotomy amongst fans on hurts. I for one don’t think one season is enough to judge him. Especially not being in the same system from Doug to nick. He has to improve no doubt but to consider the Jalen hurts experiment a wash after one season is a knee jerk reaction

    Perfectly said

    MsArtemis01

The crazy thing is, how many TDs was called back because of no discipline on some players. It seems like every game we played, a perfect pass TD was called back. It wasn’t Hurts fault. Many times, Sirianni playcalling was straight trash and predictable. Sirianni needs to get better.

    Gabriel Sessions

If you can seriously say, with a straight face, that Jalen has the same potential to work with as Lamar and Josh Allen, then you’re delusional. He is Tyrod Taylor. He’s fine.

    Malcolm McCoy

    Ya feel me

Vince Niederman

I Just Hope Coach Gives Jalen Some Time To Become a Better QB For Us!

    Ashton Mcgill

Thank you Sonic for your opinion

    NnBPRoZ6969

Same. I just hope jalen takes that josh Allen size step in his third year

    Big_AL

He is giving Jalen time and weapons. There are no excuses. Either Jalen improves his accuracy or not and we start over next yr. No excuses.

    Roger Everett

@Big_AL I don’t think he needs any excuses … he just needs better players.

    PHiLTHY KLEAN

First year starting led a 4-11-1 team to playoffs without many big players and injuries to rb and o line I’d say is a better start then most who aren’t apart of the convo 😴 😆

Jose Torres

Nick is a good coach he has a ton of talent on offense we’ll get James bradberry we’ll have a top 5 defense and offense

    undericesinger

I hope we get Bradberry, but he has more connections to Washington.

    Dominique Ballou

@MsArtemis01 Nick adjusted all season and so did Gannon they def have flaws but adjusting isn’t 1.

    PHiLTHY KLEAN

    We’re good without bradberry

    Ant

With james we will have a top 5 defense on paper, but I really don’t like gannon he had one of the worst schemes and gameplans from a d coordinator that I’ve ever seen last year. Maybe his sit back in zone coverage and rush 4 scheme will work since we added some pieces.

    PHiLTHY KLEAN

@Ant his scheme is based on having the lbs we didn’t have last year.. we addressed it

Lowell Williams

The main connection we need is between Hurts and his top notch arsenal of receivers. I just watched Hurts 2021 highlights then watched Mac Jones 2021 highlights.

As far as arm power they look similar, but the huge difference was Mac’s ability to ready the defense quickly and get the rock to the open man.

That one skill allowed Mac to find, coverage breakdowns and wide open receivers repeatedly.

Mac’s WR core was also a just a group of dudes that included none other than

Agholor who even looked half decent with Mac.

We need Hurts to reach the Mac level of play ASAP! It’s a low bar..

The Mac way is to trust your receivers.

Let them go up and get the rock – the QB’s job is to make precise reads and put the ball in the vicinity of the WR..

And it doesn’t require a cannon arm!

Lets go BIRDS!!!!

    Gabriel Sessions

    If only we had Mac.

    Lowell Williams

    @Gabriel Sessions

Yeah I watched his Mac’s 2021 tape out of curiosity and was shocked to see the guy was making sh:t happen with a group of folks I didn’t even recognize.

My takeaway is Mac knows how make plays from the line far better than Hurts.

Sadly if DeVonte would have gone to New England I’ll bet he would’ve achieved twice the output playing with his old pal Mac!

    😎

    intellectualAzzKickins

Don’t forget we had a wr core that was top 5 in drops hopefully with these new additions that wint be an issue

Luffy Uchiha

I love nick😂”Imma just tell you right now I’m never gonna answer that” straight savage.

FlipTop HipHop

Coaches NEVER give any answers these days. I’m tired of the politics

MsArtemis01

Sirianni and Gannon needs to improve the most. Everyone is looking at Hurts. However, I worry about the coaches. They are both thick headed coaches when it comes to adjustment on the fly. Just like Doc Rivers on the Sixers.

    Fifapro 44

Gannon more so than Nick I feel

    21stCenturyNatives

Easy to adjust with the talent we acquired. I’ll save judgment until I see this new crew.

    N1NJ4EAGLE

Why do fans always blame the coach and say:

    “Just adjust.”

Both teams are always adjusting and sometimes it’s up to the players to execute. The coaches at the NFL level aren’t stupid and they just can’t magically make bad players play at an elite level. Sometimes the other team is just better than you no matter how hard you “adjust.”

An example would be Eagles wild card game. They held the Bucs to 31 in the wildcard game and the super bowl champions held them to 27 in the divisional round. The Rams defense is way better than the Eagles at the time so I’d say that’s pretty good. Meanwhile, the Eagles offense had plenty of wide open players all game that got overthrown multiple times. Id say the coaches adjusted well. Players just failed to execute. 🤷‍♂️

Who stood out the most? Bull ain’t waste no time lmao

BaZe FooCe

I just wanna see Jalen Hurts really take that leap forward. He has the pieces, no excuses now

    Sujiinn

We just gotta believe in him not judge him if he throws a bad ball or two that will always happen in any game

    Sujiinn

I really hope he’s improved because he’s a damn good leader I want him to stay

    PHiLTHY KLEAN

It’s his second year starting chill

    PHiLTHY KLEAN

    @Sujiinn he’s not going anywhere

Cedric Bost

Growing praise for Derek barnett I hate the guy personally and wanted him off the team before the option but hopefully he turns it around this year the penalties are killer 😱😱😱😱

jt.thecoast

“Hey coach what’s your gameplan on defense?” 🧐 Lol c’mon man

DembBased

He’s gotten so much better at press conferences, love to see it

Skyler Coleman

He’s gotten a lot better with the press. Hope he does great this season. Rooting for u Nick

Al Shalateeni

AlienLife

This will be our weak spot this season. Coaching. Especially Gannon.

Killa Massacre

Eagles fans need to come to realization we can’t win the superbowl every year! Just hope for a fun, great successful year

Nick is an awesome coach and he and the players have good relationships on and off the field also he really is about getting better and better foot on the peddle never stop growing as a team and wanting to do whatever it takes to win and he is great at helping put the relievers and players all around in the right position to make plays
