ESPN grades the Eagles Draft class an A+

Glenn Deason

Man Howie is getting sassy with the media. I absolutely love it! 🦅

    Billy B

    He’s earned it!!

    J J

He’s confident and satisfied with the picks.

    Glenn Deason

Eagle eye podcast described Howie and Sirianni as “punch drunk” due to long days, lack of sleep, and what they were intaking. Makes for a very entertaining duo.

    Billy B

@Glenn Deason I hope they hold onto that bind.

Dtrain

The eagles fans have been hard on Howie for good reason. In his time as gm we havent been that great at drafting. These last two drafts have been a major step toward changing that narrative and I feel if he drafts even close to this next year Howie will have become a complete GM and completely changed the narrative of himself in Philly. Great job guys.

    Dtrain

@Jpappi Aka pap shady 37 years a fan which might be longer than your life span. Considering I specifically mentioned Howie’s drafting as the reason for people’s frustration with him and you bring up his trading ability I have to believe you struggle with reading comprehension. Oh and just so you know the 1st and 4th Howie got for Sam Bradford drafted Derek Barnett and Josh sweat. So his water to wine landed us a player with more penalties than sacks with a 1st Rd pick and sweat who is a decent rotational piece. So Howie turned water – wine- back to water with his inability to DRAFT.

    1000% Fam

Agree with you 1000% couldn’t have been said better 💪🏾

    Jpappi Aka pap shady

@Dtrain whine more pa. I find it amusing that you think Howie made all the drafts in a silo lol.

    Buck Buck

But you enjoyed winning the superbowl didn’t you?? This isn’t an exact science Einstein….

    David Nicholson

@Dtrain I get the point that it seems howies turned over a new leaf in regards to drafting and the way they choose picks these past two seasons. But with the criticism to begin with I wonder how many gms you can find in the nfl that have done better than him from drafting to trading to working the cap? Definitely a couple out there, but overall he’s been a top 10 gm since he’s been a gm in regard to record and playoff appearances. As a Philly fan and 4 for 4 I consider our fan base great but very myopic. We lost a lot of capital drafting wentz, and without howies FA signings in 17 I don’t believe we would have won the sb. Like you I’m happy he’s not big braining the draft anymore, but unlike most I was never on the hating howie train, look around the league and it could be a lot worse. Take Minnesota drafting Jefferson, clearly howie was wrong, and Jefferson should have been the first wr taken not the fifth, but look at there picks years before (Minnesota that is) def not great. Barnett isn’t a stud but also not a bust, at least comping him to the likes of Reagor or Dillard which are but every gm has busts.

Rayquan purnell

Great work guys I love the signings. Let’s get this division win 🏆

Elliott Novak

He has impressed me the last two drafts

Paul Mancini

That was 3 years with the TE who retired briefly in 2019 .. he played every Game last season for SMU with no issues

Rob S

Excellent draft. Even the UDFA’s were good. Go Birds!

DRock

Howie finally did us right this year 👏 🙌 about time

Forest Hill

We all go through hurdles and make mistakes in life and in our work. Howie and the scouts are no different with their job in the draft to get the right players. These past 2 drafts, they’ve done an excellent job finding. It’s up to the coaches and players to get it done. Howie played it role and we got some steals. Looking forward to seeing Davis, Brown, Jurgens, Dean, and the other guys working hard to help the Eagles win some more super bowls.

rd3000

Damn Howie is in a great mood. Rightfully so. Hell of a draft imo

Saavy B

Great draft Howie. We give u alot of crap, but u did ur thing this year. GO BIRDS!!!

Jesus Christ is Lord

Day 1 & 2 we’re great. Day 3 could of been if Seattle didn’t take Woolen, but deals still can be done.
Dream Transactions: (All Completely Possibly)
1. Sign the “Honey Badger” to 3-yr deal
2. Trade Minshew to Seattle for
CB T. Woolen (6’4” 205lbs; 4.26)
3. Trade Reagor & Driscoll to Baltimore for OT D. Faalele (6’8” 384lbs)

Seattle didn’t address QB in the draft, were linked to Minshew pre-draft and would be the most experienced/successful QB on their roster. And Seattle having taken CB Bryant before Woolen speaks into potential trade.
Eagles get a large/fast option at CB. Opportunity to learn from Slay could help make him the Metcalf of CBs.

Baltimore after trading Brown is in need of speedy WR. And so why not try to open talks there, sending Reagor & OT Driscoll (both from 2020 draft) to get OT Faalele, who has that Aussie connection with Mailata. Could plug in at G if needed til becoming the successor to Lane Johnson. (Mustn’t underestimate the added force of two prideful Polynesians from the same land. Mark my words. Would be a HUGE +) I use Driscoll here for better fit as he has 2yrs on contact and is RT, same as Faalele, where as Dillard is on last year of contract and only plays LT. And at this point, I’m ok with keeping Dillard on cheap as career backup if he is ok with that, but if wants to be a starter, then we trade him and use Faalele as Swing Tackle.

Both trade senecios are win-wins. In truth, both Seattle & Baltimore better their situations now, only giving up rookie prospects that could turn into eventual starters, for guys experienced and proven in starting. No picks needed, just prayer for player trades, and opportunity is their based on both teams unaddressed needs. Howie would need to start calling now to make seize at current value.

God I’d love for this to happen, I wanted Woolen so bad, but this could be the dream ending to a great draft.

    michaelNeri 21

I’d rather send them Dillard and keep Driscoll

    michaelNeri 21

Sorry I didn’t see the part with Dillard lol my bad

Howie was in Beast Mode this week Go Birds!!!!

Dabadazz5150

This was a great draft good job howie

will moore

These last two drafts have been really different and good, I wonder if Howie and Doug bumped heads in the draft room or if it was just Howie learning more.

Dan Plays Bass

I hope people now realise that Howie does a good job, sometimes things just do not work out or other teams may not want to trade, etc. I think he has grown and we would be worse without him.

Christian Donahue

Howie is a beast GM. The drafting was his issue but he Nailed this one

My angst has a body count

These guys look like they’re having fun!!! We all know that’s dangerous when it comes to the NFL! Go Birds!!!!

tim hayden

This guy is a good GM a very smart guy knows his football yes there has been some bust picks it happens. But this dude makes some dam good moves hence the 2018 team but one thing I know this team needs is that Brian Dawkins type that puts fear in the opponents wide outs ! Best draft I’ve seen for a while awesome job very excited to see this come to its fruition for show !!

Kevin Krew Orellana

The Eagles had a really great draft this year, time to give Howie his due credit.
