Holmes is getting it done great draft

Carson Claws

Brad for the W! Unbelievable job! Go lions!

That Oneguy

This draft has been really good for us. I’m a fan of taking two edge rushers and like the rest of us I’m a fan of taking a safety. The only problem is that we didn’t take a stand out linebacker. I’m hoping that Brad Holmes can do what he does best and get a steal at that position.

    That Oneguy

@John Reese Our defense was terrible last year but we filled in a good amount of holes in the draft. Our offense has a bunch of weapons though, Chark was a pro bowler, Williams is probably the best WR in this draft class, and Amon Ra was the third best rookie WR last year. I’m pretty sure you know how good Swift can be when he is healthy and Hock made a pro bowl. I’m not saying our offense is loaded but it’s definitely pretty good. Also there are multiple great QBs coming out in 2023. The top 2 are especially noteworthy, CJ Stroud and Bryce Young look like they are about to compete for number one overall. As for why we can’t win with Goff? I think we can win with him but he’s a limited QB in the end that needs a lot of weapons to function. The Rams made the super bowl that year more in spite of Goff then because of him.

    John Reese

@That Oneguy The defense is still terrible. When you are so devoid of talent you don’t trade 3 of the top 66 picks to move up to 12 and draft a receiver with a torn ACL. You saw what happened with our original number 34 pick? The Packers used it to take Christian Watson. Karen Rodgers has another weapon to make Lions fans miserable. Detroit should have kept their original picks and taken a receiver later. Watson, Pickens and so many others were still available. Nakobe Dean would have been better at 32. Watson at 34. JT Woods at 66 and Channing Tindall at 97. The defense ranked 31st of 32 last year. The only good pick who filled an obvious need has been Hutchinson. He can’t do it alone. Get ready for another lost season.

    That Oneguy

@John Reese Of course we’re going to lose a lot next season, that would happen regardless of what kind of draft we had. Though I think the trade was a pretty good deal. We still got two picks in the first round, it’s just that our first round pick got upgraded twenty spots while out second round pick got downgraded twelve spots. The only think we really gave up was our early third and our early second got turned into a mid second. I looked at Christian Watson and let me just say, that guy drops the ball a sixth of the time it hits his hands. We got a possible HOF WR for much less than what we should have had to give up. Nakobe is injury prone which is why he slid so far but I understand wanting a linebacker. Though with this new edge rusher our line is looking really good and we still have the Okwara and Harris as our linebackers. Honestly, we’re having a really good draft, Brad hasn’t let us down yet so let’s put a lite faith in him.

    John Reese

@That Oneguy Dean has been injured during the predraft process. His tape is proof of what he can do on the field. Georgia won the National title for a reason. The Lions linebacker corps is the worst in the NFL. I would rather take the leader of the Georgia defense with a strained pec than a receiver with a torn ACL who had one productive year in college. Again, there were many receivers available later on. That Georgia defense had some generational talent. Derion Kendrick is still available. Solid corner who can help a terrible secondary.

    That Oneguy

@John Reese It isn’t just his pec. Look up Dean’s injury history, it isn’t just the strained Pec that made him fall to the third round. That said, Jameson was in a stacked Ohio State receiver corps so he didn’t really get a chance to shine until he moved to Alabama. His one season was more than just productive, it was spectacular, and against the top competition in college football. ACLs also aren’t as damming as they used to be, the word is that Jameson won’t miss a step. That said, I do agree we need linebacker and secondary help. AmaniO might be a stud next year but he does need help. Last thing, yes, there was a lot of WRs, but that also half justifies drafting William. Before the ACL tear he was the consensus number one receiver in a stacked receiver class. We’ll suck next year, we have to many holes defense wise. Though the year after that our defense should be sured up.

What an amazing draft. Im so happy Brads our gm

Aj M.

This GM is phenomenal. He’s going to make the franchise a perennial playoff contender.. perhaps a deep playoff contender. 2023: Bryce Young.

    Growmie Greenthumb

@Jamison Bell either way. Plus we got an extra pick if we gotta trade up to get one.

    DrDisInfect 😷

C’mon now you must be new to the lions 🦁

    Gregory Hallberg

@Jamison Bell I just want my franchise guy to be bigger. And I wanna see the college season play out. Maybe I’ll flip

    Jamison Bell

@Gregory Hallberg yea I’m only 15 and have suffered watching the lions and i truly think this staff and these next 1-3 years we will be playoff contenders

    AlienSource

@Gregory Hallberg You want Bryce Young next year trust me. Go watch film not just highlights. Hes a generational talent. Very accurate and mobile. Reminds me of a Patrick Mahomes and Matthew Stafford hybrid. Great accuracy! Championship QB.

Brandon Harmon

We needed a line backer. Chenal then should of gotten safety Markeese Bell or someone. Wish we wouldn’t of traded that pick but even with that wanted thibs and either j Johnson or j Davis or Loyd but I hope I have to eat my words and regret what I wanted lol

Chad Henry

I’d like to spend a day with Brad. Seems like a good dude!

I might not be happy with this pick but our D Line went from the bottom of the barrel to the upper half of the NFL and that is awesome!

The ‘21 and ‘22 Drafts are the days Goff believers get to finally laugh at all the silliness. Brad Holmes (a proven huge Goff stan) wasn’t going to draft a replacement without giving him a fair chance first. Haters were so caught in their feelings they refused to see the obvious or hear what he was saying.
