    Matthew Schlegelmilch

@Kyle Johnson great player and great leader, I like it

    Darius C

@Kyle Johnson Ever heard the saying two is better than 1? Or how about this one… The one, two punch πŸ’₯πŸ‘Š? A lil shake and bake? Just make sure you watch in high definition how it works 🀣

    Darius C

    That’s a real comment πŸ’ͺ🏾

some of yall want only big names. Yes Willis and Dean were available but clearly our staff is apprehensive as well as the rest of the league with those guys. Last year fans were screaming for AJ Epenesa and last I checked he isnt breaking records in Buffalo. Let Brad and the staff make their picks and if then they dont pan out we come back.

    why?

    @Thomas Watkins wrong

    FireeStyle

@Austin Rich idk why i said last year but my point still stands.

    The Analytic's Den

@Thomas Watkins lol this is 100% dumb hate Capers had no say on the defense Campbell switched to a nickel but sure 4-3 most of the team fit both but sure

    Austin Rich

@The Analytic’s Den and in realty todd wash helping with the scheme more than Campbell is.

Juwan Buchanan

If this guy turns out to be a stud, most of you will buy his Jersey anyway. The dude can literally play every defensive position. It’s up to Campbell on what he wants to do with him.

    Nick Fox

@Elohims chosen There’s alot more to how the offense flows than having “weapons”. There is a multitude of ways to play to a qbs strengths and weaknesses.

    Elohims chosen

@Nick Fox I’m simply stating what the excuse was no matter how you cut it the team that did their homework on him gave him away let’s be real. And after that debacle with Lynn coach then still had to call him out publicly like come bro it boils down to the quarterback I’m pretty sure they ain’t just throw him out there and say make it work lol

    Derek Snively

@Thomas Watkins what are you talking about

Nick Fox

Kids an animal. Sheds double teams and sets the edge like a pro. This is a huge upgrade for our dline. All you armchair gms screaming for Malik or Dean shows you only know the names everyone talks about. Those two have fallen far down the draft board for a reason. Lets see how the rest of this draft goes before over reacting like some of yall always do.

    Torrey

    Agreed, great pick.

    Nick Fox

    @Torrey πŸ‘Š

    helmedon

Dean fell because he’s injured. Paschal actually doesn’t shed double teams or set the edge like a pro. watch his game tape instead of his highlights. He had ONE game this year that he was a dominant player and that was against Florida. He didn’t show up against lesser teams. He gets pushed around a lot and gives up if he doesn’t break through immediately. I think he looks good because of some of the other guys on that line. #5 makes more plays than Paschal does. He “might” be a good rotational player but isn’t better than anyone we already have. We could have picked up a good LB, which is actually a need, instead of this guy. You don’t use a 3rd rounder on another DE when you already drafted the top DE in the draft.

    helmedon

@Nick Fox I don’t feel we needed another DE at this draft pick. He’s not any better than anyone we already have. Maybe he can take Brockers’ spot, but there were better players available and lower in the draft. He’s really not that impressive if you actually watch the game tape instead of highlights. He doesn’t set the edge well and gets handled more often than not.

    Ken Marks

    @Kyle Johnson 99

schleep

Anyone hating on this picks doesn’t realize he was one of the best DE in the best conference in CFB. Facing future pro/already pro ready talent on a weekly basis and putting up great numbers.

    Faizal Iqbal

    @Kyle Johnson They can.

    Michael Proia

He just plays a position we don’t need. We have Romeo and hutch

    phillip aranjuez

Or that by getting to Qb it makes the other levels better. Fucking tired of watching Rodgers have all god damn day to stand around and wait for a wide out to uncover. Even the best db can only cover a guy for so long

    Montarctica

@Michael Proia yeah a position that often gets hurt and needs backups too, and is so valuable if you hit on two great ones in a draft you’re sitting pretty for years.

    Dirty Beef Curtains

@Michael Proia nah, he lines up all over. I think he will be in the middle quite a bit. Huge run stopper.

David bliss

Really like this kid, has a great motor and will get after the QB. Holmes has done a great job of creating competition amongst that D-Line group.

    Kyle Johnson

Screens/ slants/ and counters???? Easy way of beating a front 4, when nobody can tackle in the open field

Tom From myspace

Dude was a captain for 3 years straight πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯ we need that leadership

Lucky Belafonta

He will be a beast IDL. Lions O Line and D Line will be major improvements this upcoming season

Aj M.

Holmes/Campbell are putting this puzzle together. After the growing pains of 2021, which we all expected.. although they lost several very gritty/close games (4 or 5 I think).. plus tied one… with very young players, key injuries, a new QB, a new coach..

I believe they’ll convert many of those losses..

One Pride!

zman gaming

With him and hutchinson our defense is stacked

    dpowers1185

I would pump the brakes there. β€œStacked” is a little strong. Lol. I like the picks, but two draft picks aren’t going to change the worst D in the league overnight.

    M K

@dpowers1185 Well the d line has some talent now

    Shrek Donkey

@dpowers1185 Okudah will be back healthy too.

BiglWillielStyle

Holmes and Campbell are building the trenches, which was their goal from day one. This is a multi-year process, building out from our core, DBs and LBs will be added in the next phases if these linemen produce. Hell, imagine if Okudah was ‘productive’ . All we can do is watch the process, we are building to be competitive, and hope to show success in the next 2-4 years. Hopefully we continue to hit on these picks and land some more studs in the upcoming season. I’m talking a NFC championship game in 2024.
Then you all will be snorting that Kool-Aid powder right from the packet, no water, no sugar, just that pure Honolulu Blue.

    Josh

With the heart we showed last year, and how close we were in almost every game… I would bet we go 500 or above this year

    BiglWillielStyle

@Josh If our lineman and Swift stay healthy they will be competitive. Ideally we tank again this year for Stroud or Young. This offense is being built for a stud QB next year, with the draft capital we’ll have next year I’m hopeful for the years to come.

ben tate

He is a good edge setup guy. No more running sweeps

Ricky Bobby

Great pick. Him & Hutch 1-2 punch.πŸ₯³

Steve Wilds

LOVE this player totally home run pick, the defensive front looks good just need some impact linebackers maybe barnes steps up

Emerald-Eyez 7 Zemi

Go Lions 🦁!

Will Hunt

He was one of the best defenders in the toughest conference!!!

Nate Moore

Imagine this kid pushing inside on 3rd and 7, with Hutch next to him, with Levi(hopefully he takes a huge leap), and Romeo on the other side all rushing the passer. Instead of Qbs having 8 seconds to throw like they have forever, they get 1-1.5 seconds and they force a bad throw and or pick. Pressure is what we have needed since Suh left. He Will change our defense tremendously. Not mad at the pick at all after sleeping on it. He will help our run defense too so we’re not giving up 150+ to Rbs.

Mark Williams

This kid is not going to give the Lions 18 sacks in one year. BUT what he WILL bring is versatility, stopping the run, great locker room guy.

He’ll probably be a 15 year pro who will just get better year in and year out.

He was first team all SEC. That’s quite hard to do. ESPECIALLY at the DL.

He’ll definitely be a serious contributor this year.

I think of him like a Cameron Hayward with the Steelers. Just a VERY good pro that just gets better and better.
