In a vacuum, what rd pick would Noah Fant have been worth? A 3rd? Why not offer the Seahawks this 3rd rd pick instead of Fant? I wasn’t a big fan of Fant but seems like we swapped Fant for this guy. Is he really gonna be better than Fant considering Fant graded out top 20 and this guy was barely top 100? Just doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me.
Fant isnt an all purpose TE. He cant block for crap. Hes ok as a receiver. For a first roind pick hes been only producing 3rd or 4th round talent ability. He will also cost way more as he was a first round pick. Now you get your Franchise QB and a better all purpose Tight End for less.
This guy is not an all purpose tight end. That’s my issue. I expect the same blocking issues Fant had. But hoping he can develop and be more willing to be physical than Fant was. I don’t see Dulcich being a beast after the catch either, which I’d prefer from a tight end. He’s fast but not physical.
I dig the Bonitto pick and picking up the 2023 3rd rounder, but not a fan of this one.
@YourMachines have you watched the guy? Obviously your scouting must be better then George Patton. The Broncos should have you there helping them make pics. Patton actually just stated he knows this kid personally. Has seen him through high school and college. Personally calls him an all purpose TE. Says the kid can block, catch, do whatever they need in their new offense. Fant was a bust as far as im concerned. Albert O who we kept btw is way better at TE then Fant. I think at this moment i will trust Patton abilities to pick good players vs your opinion.

That means he’ll be a hall of famer.
Could have gotten Bernhard Raimann, Nakobe Dean, Christian Harris, or Travis Jones. but nooo a second string TE

Dean literally got passed up by the entire league twice because he doesn’t want to have surgery and people still complain… there are still plenty of NT in the draft, Harris can’t read the field well and isn’t even that physical, and Raimann? There’s still plenty of RT left in the draft and we have 2 4ths. Let Paton do his job

Paton hit on literally every pick last yr in his 1st draft. He absolutely killed it this yr too.
