I never thought I’d call Brad Holmes a liar, but when he said, “I thought it was a fair trade for both.” I am convinced that he was trying not to laugh his butt off, and that is a bold faced LIE! Amazing job to fleece a division rival.
@DannyWilliamH we moved up 20 spots in the first all the way to 12. Moved back 12 spots in the second and gave away a 3rd round pick. That is a fleece and it’s not even close.
I’m so geeked I’m just knowing we have not seen the best of Levi Okudah and let’s not forget Jarrad Davis McNeil Julian Okwara I trust Holmes to draft a linebacker next and we gotta trust Goff I got a good feeling about next year

@Samuel Knudson my buddy is a huge Vikings fan and my neighbors are vikings fans I haven’t gotten their take on it but truly Vikes should have gotten more IMHO.
Honestly, so great to see this fan bases love for the GM. Been a Lions fan for over 20 years and this is the first front office, that is drafting for wins not just to sell tickets. O-line and D-line are set, Swifty is one of the best in the league. And with now with Jameson we have a diverse group of pass catchers. I like this offense already on paper but we are going to need better QB play from Goff though. Unless we hitting the tank 1 more season.

Agree. He seems more transparent than other GMs or am I crazy. It seems like he doesn’t have a problem telling us what he was thinking. It’s refreshing. It feels like our GM actually plays for Detroit for once. Can’t wait for the season.

I like Holmes too, but your assessment of our team is a little lofty. Our D line still sucks as does our entire D. I would’ve liked to see Davis at 12 but let’s see what Williams can do.
@Michael Rogers We have Flowers, Hutch, Brockers, and McNeil on the D-line. You can work with that. Never said that we would be good. But it Would be weird to trade up for an interior lineman when we drafted pretty highly two last year. We have no one on the roster like Jameson Williams. Not saying we are going to be good, but the pieces are falling into place.

I like this move up, we potentially get the best at his position in the draft, now we also have more depth at WR, and if Chark produces we have a very very capable young 3 headed monster in Amon, Chark and Williams, with Hock and Swift healthy and the O-Line we have our offense is actually pretty damn good on paper.
Man this guy is gonna carry us to the promised land soon I truly believe it.

GM Brad Holmes nailed it by getting arguably the best DE and WR in the draft in his first two picks. We got us two game changers! That’s how you win in the NFL! Now, let’s address the rest of our front 7 on defense and get some depth !

I have a feeling that Brad and Dan were split on Aidan and Kayvon, but Dan won out because he made his opinions known that Kayvon’s attitude wasn’t gonna fly on his team. So I believed that Dan won Aidan. Then, when Brad saw Jameson Williams sitting their at 12, he said, okay if you’re gonna get your guy, then I’m trading up to get my guy. I say this because Brad seems more excited about Jameson than he does Aidan.

I like both picks. Hutch should be a very good player for a long time. I think his motor will rub off on the other guys as well. I was totally surprised when Brad moved up 20 spots to grab Jameson. I love the fearlessness! I was initially concerned he gave up too much to a division rival but, when you look at the fear Jameson will put into a defense (remember a guy named Calvin?), it opens up all the other receivers and the backs. Nothing terrifies a defense and a defensive coordinator like speed. I think watching Jamar Chase in the Super Bowl showed what an elite receiver can do as well. Jameson can also take his time returning. Now this is where Goff HAS to step up. Should be an interesting year! And to think the draft isn’t over yet!

The draft always has a gamble uncertainty. You do your due diligence and make a go of it. Brad displays the discipline and intellect to make the best decision he can in the moment.
We’re so lucky to have both Yzerman and Holmes. I love the way they both handle the draft
