Cine is good, that’s not the issue, not good enough value for dropping down 20 damn spots is the issue, and ending up taking a Safety anyway lmfao. These next two picks better be home runs. Cine is gonna be a good player.

    Jarrad Bruessel

@Blamo 92 no one else wanted to trade up to 12th.

    Ryan Albertson

“These next two picks better be home runs” as though you have any idea if the first one was or not.

    Matt Mahle

Would you rather the Vikings pick Cine at 12 and not get any value at all?

    The Superior Affection

@Matt Mahle HUGE overreach if they did that.

    alex erickson

@Matt Mahle they wouldn’t have picked Cine at 12 lmfao

Tahj No name -

He is a good pick . Hopefully we can land kyler Gordon or Andrew booth .

    Murkman

Definitely a good pick and we can still turn this draft around if they don’t B.S in the 3rd. Let’s bring Booth Jr. or Gordon home @ 34 #Skol

    keegan weller

im sure we will be able to grab booth at 34

Brett

They clearly like the guy. Lots of very good players get picked outside the top 20. Interesting to see who they get as almost a first rounder tomorrow.

    Knighthawk34

@Steven Aakre people understand the rational, they got fleeced in the trade. Who cares if there’s still good players, there always will be. It’s more a fact kwesis first move as GM is to work a trade back for not adequate value. It’s a telling sign for the bs we’ll have to encounter for his next 3-4 years

    Gizbo

@Knighthawk34 hopefully not. Maybe it’s just a beginner mistake. Not trying to justify anything but hopefully he’ll get better each year. All i know is these guys know more than i ever will. This is the first year i have ever paid any attention to the draft and i’ve been a fan for over 30 years. I just wish it was football season already. Where’s the fast forward button at?

    San Vang

@Gizbo why are we calling it a mistake already?? The draft isn’t solely based on the first round. We gotta at least wait and see how the draft pans out as a whole.

    San Vang

@Gizbo facts. None of these players has even hit the grass yet. Gotta be patient and trust the new regime and their process 🙏🏼

Aj Knudson

I like the idea of disguising coverage subbing between 3 safeties and locking it down with Harrison getting older. We couldn’t get our CB and with crafty secondary coaching (which this is Ed’s thing!), a good to possibly really great pass rush combined with an explosive offense. Let’s go, a lot of good corners still on the board!

    The Ukrainian Intellect

Yup yup! And there may be a lot to love if we nail these next picks todays in the 2nd and 3rd!!

Seal Train

Such a typical mediocre move
This is definitely the Vikings 😂

Hamilton is pretty much a athletic Linebacker freak that’s playing safety and many are saying he’s gonna be the next Cam Chancellor but only time will tell.
I’ve live long enough to understand that no draft pick are ever garentee.

Hamilton is big and strong and is a aggressive safety that can come up to help stop the run and is a tackling machine and in college they play him like that in multiple situation as the 8 man in the box to help stop the run.
Kinda like how the vikings have been using Harrison the HitMan for years.
So if the Vikings did draft Hamilton instead we will need to play him the same way we play Harrison for him to be successful.
Which wouldn’t make any sense to have two type of the same players on safety and why I think Cine is the better fit for Vikings.

Everyone have a weakness and no one is perfect.
The biggest weakness about Hamilton is in pass coverage.
If you watch college football alot you’ll know Hamilton have the tendency to get beat down field and have the tendency to give up short quick plays that turns into big plays for the opponents and that’s due to his slower speed.
Which is something that music video highlights won’t show.

Hamilton biggest weakness is his speed but again only time will tell of that will be a issue for him in the pro NFL.
If the Ravens use him in a similar system like how the vikings use Harrison I’ll say he’ll be fine.
What most people forget is that Harrison speed was also a issue coming out of college, but luckily Harrison IQ football was so good that he’s always been able to position himself to make plays and never let his slower speed be the issue much.
Is also the reason why Zimmer always try to not to leave Harrison on a island much because when it does happen that’s the only time Harrison tend to get beat.
I also expect the Viking new Defensive coordinator to continue to use Harrison the same way Zimmer did.

As for Cine when it comes to stopping the run he’s just as aggressive as Hamilton in coming up to help but his tackle can be questionable from time to time compare to Hamilton.
Because again Hamilton is pretty much a athletic Linebacker freak at the safety position.

The good thing about Cine is that he’s way better at pass protection then Hamilton period and that’s not even a close argument.
Cine can track side line to side and can track all over the back field and have the speed to recover with his freakish 4.37 speed.
The only issue is that because of his speed he have the bad tendency to be out of position because he rely to much of his speed to bail himself out of trouble, but that’s something that can be coach to get rid of bad habits, but you can’t coach speed which is something Cine have.

For me I hate the trade back because we’ve experience to much of that with Spelman.
I also don’t like that the trade was with a division rival.
But I like the pick…

    Rob E

Hamilton ran 4.6, Cine ran 4.37 – that’s quicker than JJ. Hamilton isn’t an athletic freak, he’s average to slow. Travon Walker would run past him.

    CHIZZO

I assume the trade with Lions was our only option left, and the Lions knew that, so they capitalized on that, and took MN’s 2nd rd pick.

Chad Wilson

Honestly really like his attitude, being a real leader and more outspoken than Zimmer. This video would be 4 minutes long with zimmer

    Rob E

So good not to hear that miserable SOB any more. Sounds like a lot of fans are missing him though.

    John Swanson

Nobody liked listening to squeeky Zimmer

Anthony Hallberg

Love the pick. But hated the trade. There was no reason to trade our 46th for their 66th. To me, we should have just traded our 12th pick for Detroits 32nd and 34th. Period. That would have given us positive value. Now we got negative value and Detroit got the better deal. Oh well

    Kades Cards

I wouldn’t have even minded sending some 5th or 6th round picks to sweeten it for the lions if thats what it took. Even if they went off of hit rates rather than the trade chart, I think its still important to use that chart to your advantage to get extra picks or value in return out of a trade, especially with it being a division rival.

    Humanomoly

Totally agree. The sending of our 2nd rounder is just absurd.

    Danny Vang

My thoughts exactly… 😔 keeping all the 2rd picks for compensation at least. I mean its 12th pick for the last pick of the first round…

    Jack of All Trades

It took what it took. How is that not comprehended by the casuals. Do you think Kwesi just picked this out of thin air? That there was no counter offering? Would you rather he just picked Cine at 12? Do you understand that 34,66 > 46?

    Anthony Hallberg

@Jack of All Trades Cine wasn’t their number 1 target. They said that 50 times yesterday. Its not about the player. Its about the draft pick value. Maybe you don’t understand how draft pick values work as you call everyone casuals. Everyone was shocked by what we gave up to move back that many spots. National media was basically laughing at the trade.

Loc Dawg

Worst pick so far in the draft. Cine wasn’t on anyone’s draft board in the 1st. Lost our on Hamilton, Wyatt, Davis, Johnson… This offense is going to get destroyed next season. You heard it here first! Bet against the Vikings!!!

    Rex Rogers

Wow….. Enjoy your day😁 SKOL VIKINGS!!!

Tryston Evjen

So 12 to 3 or 4 is a long way to go up, but 12 to 32 isn’t a long way back? Make it make sense

Captain Mofongo

Everybody wanted more for the trade. With that said, Cine looks like The Flash on the field, especially in run coverage and blitz schemes in the box. After today this entire deal will look a lot more salvageable, especially if they grab a CB like Andrew Booth or a LB like Nakobe Dean at #34.

Gizbo

This comment section is full of experts but not one of them sits at KAMs desk or makes his money. Did all of you geniuses apply for the GM job when it was open? Just curious and if so, what happened? Why is KAM in there and not you? Maybe the packers need some water boys. I mean you could take your crying asses over there and find out at least. Worth a shot right? 🤷‍♂️

Alex Heltemes

I really wanted Booth Jr. hope we take him at 34. I really like booth’s ballhawking ability in donatell’s defense

Art Vandelay

The Vikings’ biggest needs are at guard and center on the o-line. This new regime apparently is just like the last one, not recognizing the importance of pass protection for Kirk. It’s ludicrous to invest so much in Kirk and then not give him the pass protection he needs in order to reach his full potential, which he has never been given the opportunity to do. It looks like Kwesi in one fell swoop has just turned the Minnesota Vikings into the Cleveland Browns.

Art Vandelay

Trading down was a bad decision to start with, compounded by the fact that they got very little in return for it. You trade a number 12 first-rounder, you should get a better first rounder than 32 in return. Terrible move, TERRIBLE.

Jimmy Spilotro

Should have drafted Hamilton

Vita Leonis

The Vikings trade deal is like this – A guy walks up to a kid and says – “Hey kid, I have a quarter, and has the number 25 on it. My 25 cents is a piece of metal from the periodic table, and my “25” is a larger number than the number “20” you have on that silly piece of paper. Why don’t we trade”
The kid says – “Yeah! That sounds like a great statistical move – you have a silver coin, and all I have is a piece of paper, and your number 25 is a bigger number than my 20. I love statistical analysis and theory”
Trading these pick slots was some persons wet dream, but in reality – stupid.

We should have had Lions 2023 1st round picks, period.

We could have had WR; Williams, Dotson, Burks. If they wanted a Safety, we could have had Hamilton or Hill. We also needed Tyler Linderbaum. We missed Jermaine too!
🤔… 😬… 😭… 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Rex Rogers

Lot’s of world class temper tantrums in these comments😂😂 SKOL VIKINGS!!!

nicholas crapser

I still trust Kam and koc they know what this team needs and it sounds like they have a solid plan let’s give them the peace of mind they need to bring this team home a Lombardi

Rick Beam

the defense gave up 426 points in 2021- 24th
look for more defense picks tonight
offense scored 425 – 12th
defense is the weak link
