He’s a descent coach but with the upper management still in place don’t think there will be a big difference…..see the jaguars having the first round picks for years to come …..

@John McNamara normally when your serious about winning, you’ll let the new coach bring his people/staff with him….the coach is one piece of many in an organization…. Jacksonville has been so bad for so long, that if they were serious about winning, let the new coach come in with all of his staff, including a new GM …..but it’s the same clown show in Jacksonville …..the owner is a great business man and buying the franchise was a good business move (for him) but building a winning franchise and maintaining that level, is another thing ……
@spanishh2001 I agree, you’re spot on. I’m a Buccaneers fan lol but I noticed Kahn tends to keep coaches around, and doesn’t fire people- unless you know you kick someone lol. So maybe he keeps Doug around long enough to realize Balke is awful and dumps him and let’s Doug do his thing

Doug also likely learned you can’t be too easy going with the general manager at the outset… he let howie do his thing to get along and when he tried to set limits… it was too late and that is one reason they parted ways. Needs to establish true collaboration with Trent Balke st the outset.
If they can get Evan Neal in the draft a new OC and bring guys in during free agency then that’s a good combination.

The Eagles got rid of Doug Pederson because he got tired of an accountant second guessing him. They also famously dumped Andy Reid. How’d that one work out for Andy?

As a Jag fan from day 1 & living here I now have hope for better things in the coming seasons. I look at how the Bengals have come alive in just two years. Hopefully the Jags & our city will see good days like they have.
Doug can recruit good assistant coaches if they let him. He’s respected around the league.
