@Donald I just don’t see value at 17. When Aboushi was healthy, RT was lineman #5 on the team. There’s only so much value a position group can provide. The Chargers need a #4 CB, but drafting at 17 would also be unnecessary. A secondary won’t give up 0 passing yards, and a line wont’ give up 0 sacks in a season. In terms of receiver, Williams would almost be WR1 in that he would be the only speed receiver on the team apart from Guyton.
With so much elite WR talent we need to get someone like Williams or Olave

Go watch his senior bowl film, against NFL caliber players, and he awful.
Penning at Right Tackle would still leave the Right side of the line as the weakness of the offense.
Trade future picks to the Eagles for one their 1st rd picks (15, 16 or 19) & take a receiver & a CB or DT in the 1st rd THIS YEAR! THAT’S going ALL IN!

If they took an Eagles pick I would say take a WR and OL. Then get defensive depth the rest of the draft

Chargers should draft Olave if he’s available
Hopefully Williams does fall to us. I don’t think they’d skip on him especially with how Tom telesco always says he drafts for the future and not just for that upcoming season
Been on the Jordan Davis draft hype all along, but after listening to this episode, I’m open to drafting Penning. Never considered WR Williams, but after seeing Money’s reaction, sounds like it would be an exciting addition.

You can get all the explosive players you want. Doesnt mean anything when the Steelers or Patriots is sacking and hurrying Herbert over and over stalling drives over and over like they used to do to Philip Rivers or the last two SBs. Sure Herbert is more mobile with I think better pocket awareness but, it’ll probably be the same results.
Plus if the game is gonna come down to these 4th down decisions Staley is gonna go kamikaze on what is a WR gonna help to play the way Staley wants to play when its gritty and close on 4th &1 or 2. Sure you wont have those explosions of just blowing out teams like the Bengals but they lost a lot of close games and the games they won comfortably the were up 2 TDs or more.
They now have the worst starting LB group in the NFL. TT still has away to go if this team plans to meet all the fans expectations.

I’d really like to see us trade back, and gather some more picks in rounds 2 thru 4 or 5. I’d really like to be able to target return specialists who can also play in the rotation, in round 3 or 4. Guys like Calvin Austin III at WR, and Marcus Jones at CB. Or wait and grab Venus Jones in 6th or 7th. I don’t like Penning in 1st, and think we can get better value in 3rd or 4th.
